OK....Firstly we are playing a Diamond formation which requires RCM and LCM as its a narrow formation. We dont need a wide player who runs up and down the flank in the diamond midfield. Hence Essien is the right choice. Secondly, Essien shouldnt be wasted playing in DM as he has abundance of energy and is at his best going forward.

We have got abundance in the midfield. We could even do by selling Deco. Lampard wont be rested much and thats a given. If at all he gets injured Joe Cole could play there. Other wise, its Essien and joe Cole on the right, Ballack and Mikel in the DM along with Mancienne and Belleti. Zirkov and Malouda on the left. Zirkov could also back up for A.Cole.

What Terminator says is right, but I suppose his choice was words is not right. Although Joe Cole was a Chelsea Fan and is loved by fans, he doesnt have the same leadership qualities as the likes of Drogba and Ballack who are respective captains for their country.

These two need to be groomed well. Di Santo looks great, has fantastic pace and movement. As Carlo said, he needs to be cool infront of the goal. That will come with age. Di Santo could be the targetman like Drogba and Sturridge could be the Anelka type Striker. With two strikers upfront, both these young lads may get alot of time in the middle. Esk: I do understand he lost confidence last season. He had a great first 6 months and then a good pre season but then he was hardly given anytime to perform. He got last 5 mins or 10 mins to play which is not good. These guys need games to boost their confidence. And hopefully, Sturridge and Di santo get more playing time.

I dont think its a good idea to loan this bright talent and bring in a 40million David Villa.

Good Pre season...Better Much Better than playing those Chinese Local Teams. Deco was Poor, Malouda seems to be back to his worst as both gave balls away in the midfield. Sinclair was great with his runs through the middle. Sturridge should have scored. Hutchinson was awsome today, so was Mancienne. Di Santo was the best of all. That guy has pace. From the celebration it seems as though the squad wanted him to score. Great to see the celebrations in the end. Hopefully this is the first of many cups and titiles to come this season.

We roared out of the starting blocks last season. We had a good pre season last season. We were swatting teams like one swatts flies. And then fucked up in December and Jan. I am not gonna get too excited this season. All depends on how Ancelloti uses his Plan B if atall he has any

People say Ballack, but is he guaranteed a starting place? Agreed he may start in absense of Terry n Lamps but Drogba is a player who is one of the first names on the team sheet and he needs to be praised and given confidence. A Captaincy band would make him perform well and stop moaning.

Mikel was Class. He dominated the midfield. Lampard looked a bit off today. Zirkov had some good crosses and a cracking goal. Not a bad debut. Bosingwa ruled the right flank. He is amazing. Who ever thought of swapping him for Ribery needs to be bombed. Ashley Cole industrious as ever. Cech, some class saves. All in all, it didnt look like a friendly.
