You are Right, Our CFs are not scoring. I think it is down to the loss of confidence. Initially the midfield was dire and our CF hardly scored end of last season and beginning of this season which has affected their confidence. Now that the midfield is looking vibrant and as they would start getting chances, their confidence would grow. Plenty of time for our strikers to regain form and confidence. Oh, Btw you didnt mention the easiest chance of the game fluffed by Sturridge, from Maloud's cross but made it a point to come out and bash Torres for not scoring.

The last assist was good but a Striker with confidence would have buried it himself. Shows Torres is lacking confidence and hence he decided to lay it to Mata. Hopefully this game does him good. I think they had to free up a foreign player's place for Meireless. We needed someone in the Central Midfield. Benayoun although he can play there is not really a CM. He is more like Malouda. Now Meireles, going buy today's performance could turn out to be a steal for 12m. His passing was crisp and had good possession of the ball. Played like a playmaker from the deep.

Now you know why Malouda didnt pass to Torres towards the end.

I agree. I dont think anyone denies it. We haven't had a Central Striker score a goal for us since Drogba at OT in champions League. Hence its not just a problem with Torres. Aguero has 6 in 4 with Nasri, Tevez, Silva around him. Now compare that to Torres who has had Lampard, Malouda and Anelka around him (I cringed again as I typed that)
