No no no no no no no no no no no. No more Liverpool strikers. Definitely not this scrote.

I'll defo celebrate like fucking crazy if he comes back. He's just the man we need to come in, make two or three signings, and take us to the next level. Yeah he might want 100m to spend but whatever, if he takes this team on a three or four year run of awesome it will be totally worth it.
-
Mourinho, Hiddink, or Moyes would be my picks. Don't care that Hiddink is an old man; we never hold onto managers for long, but for two or three years he could do amazing things here.
-
I like Ben Arfa but I don't think he'd improve our starting line up. He's still got quite a bit of "all show no end product" to him, plus he is quite injury prone. But he's still a good player, on his day very very good indeed. Newcastle never sell people cheap though, Ba obviously being the exception because of his release clause due to his knee problems; so I highly doubt we'll sign him and if we do it would be for far too much money. Look at the Carroll deal for the sort of treatment we'd get if we approached them now. I'd much rather see us sign another striker or a deep lying playmaker.

Torres needs to take more shots, but the players also have to look for him more. Even Mata was guilty yesterday of taking a difficult shot on when he had an easy pass to Torres for a tap in. Imo he's as good as our team let him be, he needs to feel absolute confidence from his team mates. We also need to get one of Mata, Hazard or Oscar playing very close to him at all times. Remember that brilliant goal against Newcastle? That was from him and Hazard playing very close together.
-
Funnily enough I was just discussing this on another forum. He's pretty much the only extremely talented striker I can think of that we could get super cheap as cover for a couple of years, but alas the club has showed absolutely no interest in him. Imo Utd would even forget the 5m transfer fee just to get his wages off the books, he's going to get zero game time there next season anyway with RVP, Rooney and Kagawa already confusing fans to how they will fit into one XI. Imo he'd be a clever signing and we would surely have the classiest attack in the world, even if they wouldn't necessarily score a lot of goals haha.

Actually another 35m does make a huge difference. I'm pretty sure the club is spending the CL winnings (which if you include TV income, prize money, seats, extra merchandise etc adds up to a lot) combined with the new sponsorship money. It seems from the way they've been negotiating the Azpi and Moses deals that they were working hard to exactly hit a budget they had as a result of these things, spending another 35m would then blow that out of the water and leave us in trouble for FFP unless we do incredibly well this season.
-
And how did that work out for them? All you need to do is look at his goal scoring record and the way he plays to know this guy is not a striker, but if you're desperate enough you can play him there just like we could play any number of players from our squad there if we had better choice.
-
Wasn't that at Crystal Palace? Most Wigan fans who have spoken on the issue also say he would not make a good striker, perhaps a second striker so he can use his dribbling and power, but an out and out goal scorer? No. The guy scored 9 goals in 78 appearances for Wigan. He may well turn out to be a great player for us on the wings but I don't think anyone should be expecting him to be our backup striker. I'd sooner put Hazard, Piazon, or young Feruz out as striker tbh.

Guess this might be a bit of a test for Chalobah, McEachran, Benayoun and Lukaku as it could seriously affect the decision regarding loaning them out/selling them,
-
Two facts about him which mean he has no credibility whatsoever: He works for Sports365 He uses twitter BBC Sport and ChelseaFC.com are the only reliable news sources for Chelsea.
-
Newspapers seem to be writing that he "had a medical in London" purely based on the fact that he was pictured at Heathrow. With Neymar behind him..and the rest of the Brazil squad, landing for the olympics. Don't believe anything until you see it on chelseafc.com

Try a different browser. Worked for me.

This fucking commentator wont shut the fuck up about AVB and the fourth official. He must have said it 10 times already.
-
Eurgh. He becomes a brilliant striker when he's enthusiastic. He also does stupid shit when he's enthusiastic.
-
So you dug this topic up to hope everyone would have a go at Torres?
-
Malouda ruined our play when he came on. He seems to have completely lost his footballing brain. However we were 2-0 up and sitting comfortable so I appreciate AVB's reasoning. And we DID win. It was just painful watching us go from finally playing well back to awful.
-
How can anyone wish for Romeu to start?? Haven't even seen the lad play 10 minutes in the PL yet. But I would love to shake things up and drop Lampard; see what difference it makes and hopefully bring him out of his coma.
-
The lad has great technique, no matter what people in this thread say (clearly having not watched enough of him). I would take him for a squad role if his wages are low.
-
Our very own version of Emile Heskey. Why not.
-
Top 2 PL finish, semi's of the CL, and a place in final of FA cup. Top scorer: Torres (extremely wishful thinking) Player of the season: Ashley Cole.
-
If they're desperate they may well spend 30 million euros, after all Zhirkov would be one of their greatest players and the fans there will be expecting something soon after missing out on several targets.
-
Humiliating set back? We don't even have proof that Chelsea made a bid, only the useless word of Zamp. It wouldn't surprise me if our entire involvement was one fax regarding the availability and price of the player, and then no further interest, which he in turn used to drive up the price any other club (e.g. PSG) would have to pay. I also notice that AVB has commented on transfers that actually have some teeth to them. He hasn't said a word about Pastore.
-
He's still recovering from surgery isn't he?
-
Lolz it will be nothing like any of these teams, we'll have signed 6 or so players by then.
