  1. It's now or never for him, though. If his form doesn't pick up under Lampard, then it's not likely it ever will.
  2. Yes, but in that game the Wolves were at our doorstep (meaning it was a home game)
  3. To anyone saying the club is being responsible by not rushing to a decision...who said they have to? They should have been researching options from the moment they had doubts about Potter. Amateur hour from the board
  4. I still think that this somehow all ties back to Arteta and Arsenal...fuck this season.
  5. Fucking knew it..bunch of frauds. Not Lampard, I mean.
  6. Hmph., so they're at least implying they have other people in mind for permanent head coach. Wonder if that list includes Lampard.
  7. The thing is...did it ever get toxic under Lampard (at the Bridge), even at his worst? Can't recall. My worry is that these owners will bow to fan sentiment instead of making the right call. Because they don't really know how to.
  8. That's the thing isn't it? If we go an epic run in the CL, or just simply turn around our league form, we will face this question. Fat chance that the owners would tell Lampard to quietly move on. Especially if he's bringing several team members on board. In any case, I'd be interested in seeing what statement they put out if they do hire him. The clue will be in how explicit they are about his terms of stay. This isn't like old man Hiddink signing on as interim until Ancelloti became available. I have a feeling that their no.1 choice (guessing Naggelsman) wasn't ready to join, and they weren't too sure about the second choice (guessing Enrique), and so they decided to drag it out until the summer. And they decided to instil Lampard as the scapegoat until then., so that at least the match-going fans would keep quiet.
  9. I honestly wonder if that's the reasoning behind the owners' thinking. So they can chat whatever nonsense they want with the managers over lunch or just 'communicate' their nonsensical vision.
  10. I find it hard to believe that both Enrique and Naggelsman were unavailable. And even if they needed an interim, why Lampard? Clueless move only to try and pander to the fans. There's no logic behind their decisions. They're setting things up to ruin our next season as well.
  11. I'd rather have Mourinho back over Conte or Lampard
  12. If he can (somehow) make Mount better, why not?
  13. Havertz (even though deficient in front of goal) did well in every other department IMO. In that regard, he has been solid in the past few games. Put him alongside a lethal finisher, and I think he will do well. Unfortunately Felix, for all his skill, is also another softie in front of goal. And Kante? Nothing more to be said.
  14. Potters ghost remains. Callagher on for Kante is straight out of his playbook Need that to end with whoever comes in to take charge.
  15. No Trent? Dang...they might have a chance.
  16. Aside from the usual suspects of Enrique, Naggelsman, Poch...are there any other out of the box, not-big-name contenders? After all, this group selected Potter, who is far from an orthodox appointment. Any chance they might do something similar again?
  17. Regarding Poch...I never wanted him because of the Spurs connection and the fact that he seemed to embody that loser choker attitude that club had. BUT, that being said.., even serial winners like Mourinho & Conte were made to look like shite in that Spurs team. So who knows?
  18. Exactly what annoys me when people use Arteta to defend Potter. Based on Potters comments in the press, it's very likely that they are using Arteta as a model. Arsenal finishing in top 4 is itself something, but them winning the league would wrongly convince some people that Potter is also worth the risk.
  19. Another reason why Arsenal winning the league doesn't do us any favors - the owners probably keep looking at Arteta as the reason why Potter should be given a chance. Hell, Potter kept saying it himself in press conferences., to make excuses for his terrible performance.
  20. Think he's referring to Potter's assistant
  21. I will never give Potter sympathy. Lampard is the one who needed sympathy. He lost Hazard, and didn't have a transfer window in his first season. And he made the most. Tuchel built off that. And in the past year everything has been slowly picked apart.
  22. Bet - if it was Mount playing that way today, he would have seen hell
