Chelsea is not a financial juggernaut like United to be able to afford spending time outside the limelight too long and have no effects. Abramovich realized this and that's why he was relentless in making sure the club stayed competitive if nothing else. Regarding the reset - that excuse can be afforded to the club, not the new owners who practically started with the same squad, manager and administration that Abramovich had. Would defo love to move on, but if feels like the club is headed for another slow motion car crash this season, which is annoying given how last season went. One more season out of top4 (or top 5 with new CL regulations ), and we'll be staying there for at least a few seasons more.

There's a difference between recognizing mistakes and actually learning from them Based on what happened last season, I've come to the conclusion that this administration is very poor at the latter. If the Caicedo transfer to Liverpool is truly done and dusted, we are well on our way to having another mediocre season. Not as bad as the last one, because we at least have a decent manager at the helm., but won't be much to shout about

Fucking hell. No break whatsoever. First Fofana and now Nkunku. And James on the treatment watch too. As if last season wasn't enough. I don't like it, but I hope the Neymar links aren't just idle paper talk, and that we actually take the gamble of bringing him in. But then again, his injury record isn't too great either, so who knows.

Hope Mudryk realizes his potential, and either Madueke or someone else steps up. And of course Jackson to carry his preseason form. Have no faith in Sterling to deliver.

About being defensive, I fear our midfield will cave in without someone stepping in. If it's going to be Gallagher partnering Enzo, no disrespect to him, its just whats he's capable of, it's going to be a walk in the park for them. I would be glad to be proven wrong and anyone can pull my post up for rebuke if I am, but on evidence, it's not looking good
