If Abramovich were here, Fabregas becoming a manager would be a bigger certainty. But then again, if Abramovich were here, we wouldn't be having a no-name manager at the helm. Hope that alleged leaked news about Finklestein was fake. If they really are looking at 'data' and saying that the coach has little impact on the team, then we'll be stuck with yes man Rosenior for a while. At least until match going fans raise a stink in the stadium and force the situation like they did with Potter.
-
Fabregas being hired to manage Chelsea after all these negative results would be the one positive in all this. BlueCo have their favorites though. The fact that JT was overlooked in favor of other youth team coaches with less official coaching credentials to become part of Rosenior's staff speaks volumes to their methods.
-
BlueCo : We have Messi at home.
-
He probably thought the goal was going to happen anyway after the attacker got past James. Sums up the mentality of the current squad, when he decided not to give chase to at least try and help the situation. Dont care about any semblance of quality he might have in the odd game here and there. Piss poor attitude, and sounds like a terrible individual off the pitch too. Worst combination.
-
Both Maresca and Rosenior are a very low bar to begin with. No point comparing either of them If we're going with experimental managers, I'd rather the next one be one of the old boys. Namely Fabregas. If for nothing else, but to make Arsenal fans mad because he managed us before them
-
Well you get what you pay for. Honestly, how many people were really gas-lit enough to think that Rosenoir would be a significant improvement over Maresca, or that the scatter gun approach from the directors would yield consistent success. The only hope now from these negative results is that BlueCo learn their lesson by the end of the season and change their strategy. CWC and conference league only encouraged them to double down on their strategy.
-
True. Thats why Potter was eventually sent packing.
-
If Liam Rosenior is humble, he'll accept his mistake and go back to Sanchez. Rotten options everywhere, but I'd stick with a keeper that can do a job if you play to his strengths. Hope that remark about him making Jorgensen no. 1 keeper were taken out of context. Absolutely asinine to make another keeper no.1 based on a few games this season.
-
Asinine decision, if true. Mistakes made by one keeper, doesn't automatically make the other keeper any better. If anyone has watched Chelsea games over the past two years, you can safely say that if Sanchez occasionally plays like shit, then Jorgensen's game is like a heap of dung. The negligence shown towards the GK and CB positions is infuriating. Ever since Fofana, they've been going for cut-price options and just stocking up on mediocrity instead of going for genuine quality.
-
If not Fofana, hopefully Sarr or Acheampong, or even James worst case. Can't tolerate any more clown defending from Captain Tosin or Badiashile.
-
Time for Joao Pedro to exact revenge on that pathetic Luis Enrique who tried to grab his throat after the CWC final.
-
Was Tosin really wearing the armband today? Lolol. Leading by example..
-
Just tuning into watch...that lineup is eye-roll inducing. Glad to see we've equalized.

Hollywood fixture:
-
James in midfield was the standout performer in the first Arsenal game this season, and his corner turned equalizer would make him more impactful in the last Arsenal game from this weekend. Garnacho had a brace in the first league cup fixture. Facts are facts. I keep saying this. Joao Pedro is fantastic and we are lucky to have him. Still not convinced he is the big time player we can depend on for all situations though. I'd argue Estevao has had more contribution in the marquee fixtures so far this season Like his games against Liverpool and Barcelona at the Bridge.
-
Crucial fixture out of the way. Well taken hattrick by Joao Pedro Without him we would be far behind Liverpool and United this season. Honestly why do you even bother comparing them? The CWC trophy was won thanks to a certain Cole Palmer if I recall correctly, who had a far more impactful game especially in the final against PSG. If JP is so impactful in games where he's not scoring, why are you not here talking about his contributions in the Arsenal games, including the most recent one? I can sing praises and thanks to Joao Pedro all day, but not to the point where you make him out to be something he is not.
-
Probably the most crucial PL fixture from the rest of the fixtures this season. Hope we can take advantage of Villa's poor form.
-
He is just a stooge Recruitment strategy is driven from the top. By big man Eghbali.
-
Exactly, Eghbali being Clearlake's appointee is likely not going anywhere anytime soon. If anyone and anything can make them see that this youth driven approach is failure, it is the club losing points and failing to secure meaningful sponsorship. Unfortunately might be the more realistic scenario, like a bitter pill that needs to be swallowed. The CWC win and the scraping of top 4 last season only papered over cracks. Just like the sale of the club hotel and women's team only partially addressed financial loss in one competition. Boehly being chairman could make recommendations to move for experienced players, but the problem is he is NOT a football man like he himself admitted openly. "Went after Cucurella because Man City were going after the player". The only thing they can do is change the recruitment strategy and instruct Winstanley & co. to shift course.
-
Mistakes were made and he admitted it. Time for Eghbali and the 3 stooges to do the same.
-
Tha annoying thing is that even their youth targets are just simply chums and pals like Delap or Garnacho. Nothing data driven. I'm still stupidly waiting to give Delap another season, but really can't see what he offers besides barging into players like a drunk lorry driver. Poor aerially and can't hold on to the ball for too long.
-
Will only happen if Eghbali is ousted (long shot because he represents Clearlake who owns more than 60% of the club shares), or if Boehly and others convince him otherwise. The youth driven policy is killing the club atm.
-
If Arsenal's mentality is showing weakness, the current Chelsea team’s mentality is in the gutter. Its a bitter pill, but I think the constant failures this season will only push BlueCo to at least sideline Eghbali and his stooges, just like Boehly was sidelined to become 'Chairman', and change direction. Their most significant success so far is making the club fall foul of the UEFA regulations.
-
The worst thing is we can't even properly gauge Rosenior as a manager. Such are the deficiencies in this squad of players, especially in terms of mentality. You have players like James that almost consistently deliver at least a 7 out of 10 performance, and then you have average players like Neto that can't really elevate their game against tough opposition. BlueCo won't go anywhere anytime soon. But if they can at least remove Eghbali & stooges sooner, that would be better.
-
And that's that.
