  1. Hmm.....Maybe have a senior citizens or family section?
  2. He's actually a Chelsea fan and friends with Lampard... But this isn't the first time he's spouted nonsense. According to the Guardian, he tweeted that Kaka was on his way to Bridge, back in Jan when he talked to him at a hotel..
  3. He was just pulling your leg.... Neither striker has been sulking or moaning this season IMO...although Didier seems to be showing less willpower in the matches..
  4. Maybe they're more worried about this fixture than we are...C'mon ENGLAND, use their fear to make them play into your hands!!! On a more serious note, should be a good clash...too bad Rooney isn't available. From what Capello has been saying in his recent interviews, it looks like England might be adopting a special approach for this game....maybe they'll try doing something like Switzerland in the WC
  5. Right now as far as WINNING the league is concerned, a lot depends on Man City's form...if they suffer a drop in form similar like we did around winter last season, us or Man Utd could topple them. But as far as I can see now, there form is only going up not down. The midweek games don't seem to affect them, and they have even managed to convert certain draws into wins. Only a loss or injury to one of their key members like Silva seems to be the only thing that can derail them. But they have more than good backup, and that's without counting a certain Argentine who could yet play a part for them. People may talk about the fact that we clawed our way back into the title race despite being 15 points behind last season, but that was because the leaders were a relatively weak Man Utd team. As far as I'm concerned, I think us Chels fans should just go back to enjoying our own games without bothering too much about the league standings. In fact the only game I never really had much fun watching this season was the QPR game when we had a chance to overtake Man Utd (and of course, the Arsenal game after that, for a different reason). If our form remains good I'm sure we will have a chance to go past United, but that's as far as I'm willing to bet on right now.
  6. That's another one of our hoodoo's I want AVB to break. Fixtures come thick and fast during that period, but I think that thanks to AVB's rotation policy we are better equipped to deal with that...
  7. If the media hadn't blown up this issue, I doubt that would have happened...
  8. I think part of it was due to Lampard's contribution...Anyways that's up for debate. All I know is that its certainly a MASSIVE bonus to have an in-form CF
  9. At the start of the season, I said that unless one of our CF's start firing regularly there won't be much chance of silverware this season. I was pinning my hopes on Sturridge, but although he seems to be the best bet to succeed, much of the goal-scoring burden seems to rest on the likes of Lampard and Ramires. I also agree that a lot hinges on Mata's form and fitness, but we were a team before he arrived so I hope that if he does become unavailable at some point we can survive.
  10. lol...Cech, Chelsea's Caped Crusader... When Petr Cech was asked about the broken nose he sustained at Blackburn Rovers and how it would affect his chances of playing for the Czech Republic in their Euro 2012 play-offs against Montenegro on Friday and next Tuesday, he said: "Let's see what the doctors say. If I were to start, then it would only be while wearing a mask. I already wear headgear and I think that I would look like Batman."
  11. Hope all four of them start! It'll almost be like watching Chelsea vs. Spain....but then again if the result doesn't go England's way, there's no doubt about who's going to get blamed....
  12. You can have your own opinion Sloth, but most of your posts nowadays remind me of this: Lighten up, man! At least a little
  13. If there's one thing Romeu does have over Mikel- its pace. This allows him to track back easily when the whole team goes out on the attack, and suddenly there's a counter. Also helps in bringing the ball out of defense a lot quicker. Mikel pretty much covers everything else.
  14. Not really...after all, he was the one who picked out Ivanovic who crossed to Lampard for the goal.IMO Mikel is one of those players who become noticeable when they're NOT on the pitch...its because he's not as dynamic as most mid-fielders ..
  15. Agree. Chelsea's attack was more purposeful when he arrived...Should have buried that last chance though
  16. Good to finally see a solid defense in place..hope to see better from Lampard,Sturridge...
  17. From the top of my head I can recall the two chances he created with long diagonal balls to Luiz and Drogba, in two games we played against Man Utd last season...While he's not what you call a playmaker, he does serve as creative outlet from time to time.... Besides CDM, he has also been used as an RB (under Mourinho) as well as a CB when we're short of players...
  18. Agree that Essien is getting crocked too often for him to retain a squad place, but to say that Ramires' overall game is better than Essien is ridiculous. It'll take more than a few goals scored from runs into the box, before he supersedes a player who can create, defend and has the tactical prowess to play in different positions on the field.
  19. There was no Lampard or any other creative mid available back then..hence McEachran...
