  1. Listen cupcake, that's all I was trying to state in my post. There was no, as you say "retarded", comparison in my post. You yourself don't seem retarded, so if you take a good look at my post again you will find that I merely cited an example... On second thought...scratch that. I have my doubts so I will cite my example again and modify it so it makes mores sense (to you): Do you think Ashley Cole (and Bosingwa in the previous leg) single-handedly fended off Dani Alves and Messi in 2009?
  2. You're clearly deluded... You have no idea what you're talking about, let alone what I'm talking about... Where in blue blazes was I even "comparing the defending qualities of wingers to a fullback"? Btw...please reply, I'm quite enjoying this even if it is a massive waste of time...
  3. Ah...but you do agree that they have at least "some" defensive responsibility. Now I don't know if you were watching just the highlight reels, but there are clips of the match which can actually show you Malouda walking back when when two of their players were attacking down the right flank in that match. Winger and full-back have to work in tandem, when the opposition is particularly strong on one side. Do you think Ashley Cole single-handedly fended off Dani Alves and Messi in 2009?
  4. And you wonder why my comments feel insulting... As for your question: No they aren't. Neither is Frank Lampard. But that doesn't keep him from tracking back and making tackles does it? Now if we had a Ronaldinho on the team who makes sure that he'll never lose the ball when flying up the wing, then I couldn't care less whether he tracked back or not. But we dont. We do lose the ball higher up the pitch sometimes, and its necessary for our attacker to track back and help, especially if the opposition winger and full-back team up... Get a clue next time...
  5. Lol...I was actually going to say the opposite. As far as today's performance from him goes, you can't ask for more than that. But he could have made more goals for the team in the latter stages if he had just looked out for his team-mates who were also arriving in the box. That way he'll earn more respect from the other players. Otherwise we'll have a "Scholes calling Nani a ball hog" type situation. However I'm not too worried...If all goes well, he'll have a more mature head on his shoulders a few years from now and that'll make him an even better player.
  6. Yeah..I remember the match at the Bridge in 09...Anelka and Drogba ripped their back four apart, but for every good goal we made, they equalized from a cheap set-piece.
  7. D'you think Lamps is all fired up now that Stevie's back? Maybe he was missing the competition...
  8. Yeah JT always seems to have a panic attack when Saha's around...
  9. Yeah David Luiz had a lot to do with that today...he really knows how to pick a pass...
  10. Andy Carrol in the squad...and Capello claims he looks at club performances before choosing his players.....
  11. Yeah, fully agree with that. Very pragmatic and not over-emo, and when its working, gets his team playing beautiful football up front... He's probably even responsible for the performance of a certain someone today. Hope he can work wonders with Kakuta as well.
  12. Towards the end of the second half, he wasn't spectacular but then again the entire team had taken the foot off the gas...before that I felt he wasn't getting enough chances himself, bar that one where he got tackled by Knight.. Anyways a win is a win and I'd much rather talk about that...As for Drogba, in a lot of his games he appears to do nothing but intervenes when it matters
  13. Really..? Take a good look at Lampard's third goal and tell me how poor he was...Also remember how Sturridge "nearly" got a hat-trick?
  14. Mata clearly not enjoying the physicality of this match... might be a good idea to keep him injury free and bring on Malouda/Anelka now that the game's almost in the bag...
  15. Zolayes was talking about a mass exodus of players from the club. Seven players at one go with no surety of good replacements could in fact cost the club. This could mean an exit from the top 4, and that that could lead to even worse repercussions... I agree to the fact that the players you mentioned do need to be replaced. But only... eventually. There's no evidence that we have ready-made replacements for each position.
  16. In his latest interview, AVB said he believes that Sturridge has qualities similar to Hulk...hope he's right...
  17. Can you also tell me how many times Mata/Malouda tracked back when Valencia was double-teaming on Bosingwa. And how many attacks down their left were actually successful?
  18. Right winger definitely Anyone else notice that Mata was ineffective down the right against Valencia? It was only after he and Malouda switched flanks in the second half that things clicked into place for us... So the option of using Mata as a right winger is probably out of the question, which leaves us with.....nobody. The real question is: Does AVB want a right winger? I remember in one of his earlier interviews, he said that he preferred having a 4-3-3 with one natural wide player and one second striker who drifted around....sounds familiar doesn't it?
  19. Well I ju------ Forget it. I just find you entire post disagreeable.
  20. Yeah its annoying when the abuse goes on and on...at this rate we'll be no better than Le'Arse fans (not that Kalou would do an Adebayor)..it was a stupid mistake but a mistake nonetheless...It just happened to be made by a player in poor form and one obviously held in poor regard...
  21. Biggest ever scoreline in European cup competitions if I'm correct... At least our "History" is interesting, even if we don't brag about it.....
