I think I've seen Van Der Wiel play a couple of times but I've never taken any notice of him. Surely, the Bosingwa comparions are too harsh?

Personally I just don't like the Inside Foward or Inverted Winger types. Their first priority is to score rather than create and that just annoys me. I guess I'm old school and prefer my Right Wingers to be Right Footed and my Left Wingers to be Left Footed. But unfortunatly for me all the 'traditional wingers' are either terrible or nonexistent. I will support Hulk 100% if he signs and I'm very sure he would be a success here. My main gripe is that I don't think a CF like Torres can be succesful when an Inside Foward like Hulk is played. But to be honest I don't really care that much about Torres. I've noticed one thing about him; defenders aren't that scared of him and he does get tackled often.

I have seen him play. Everyone has taken what I've said in the wrong way. I don't give a fuck about how many assists he has at Porto; Mario Jardel had over 200 goals in the Portugeuse league and look how that piece of lard turned out. Statistics mean nothing to me. I have seen him play and I thought he was rather good, I just don't think he is the right player for Chelsea's system (unless the manager changes it).

Hulk is a Striker. He doesn't care about crossing the ball and passing. Sure he does pass and cross but everyone does that, the first thing on Hulk's mind will always be "How can I score a goal right now?".

I just don't think this is the type of player that is needed. Sure he has the physique and the power for the Premier League but I just don't think he fits Chelsea's formation and tactics well. He is a Wide Striker or Inside Foward not a Winger which is what is needed.

He tore it up in Japan though. I think it would have been funny watching this guy get stuck in against the rather diminutive and slight framed Japanese.
