  1. He has nearly four or five players around him at all times. What's he to do? Edit: Super Frank!
  2. Crazy stuff. Pretty sure he was nearly piggy backing two of them!
  3. Is it just me or are at least 4 of the Thailand All Stars following Torres at all times? Every time you see him he's crowded out.
  4. I predict this game will play out slightly better than the last, just like the one before it. We'll win, keep a clean sheet, but still nearly everybody will complain because we didn't score 6 whilst doing back flips in between. Would love to see lost of goals but I'll just be happy with the win.
  5. eldo, this quote from AVB you posted pretty much sums it up mate. I notice though that it went unnoticed. Seemingly it's not negative enough for most people to take any notice of.
  6. This is why I had to question people earlier. I like both and want both to succeed. But some people seem insistent on proving one is better than the other. Like I said earlier, I personally think Torres played better than Drogba today, but really I want them both to shine when they're on the pitch. People seemingly want one or the other to fail, which blows my mind.
  7. Maybe I'm picking you up wrong. But do you want Dorgba to show him how it's done? Are you per chance hoping Torres fails?
  8. I'm sorry, but it does matter. If Dorgba was juggling the ball up and down the pitch, skinning every player who came near him and spanking goals in left, right and centre, then I could concede that he did indeed teach Torres a lesson. However, he didn't. He scored a set piece, which is not a part of Torres' game, and it was jammy goal at that. Drogba did no more than Torres today. In fact, he might even of done less. I'm not having a go at Dorgba's performance. It just seems people on here find it really hard to watch our games and comment on them objectively.
  9. Nothing short of a 6-0 steamrolling session seems to impresses half the folks on here. They also conceded 3. He scored a controversial free kick. What part of that is a lesson to Torres? People forget we are in pre-season, which is effectively a fitness session with everybody getting a chance on the pitch. The play is nowhere near as bad as people on here let on. I could understand the gripes if this was the UCL final, but come on.
  10. I swear to god I'm watching a different game to half the people on here.
  11. This is exactly how I feel. What do people really expect? It's pre-season friendly for a start, so it's never going to be a display of the best football we are capable of. You have a squad which isn't really put together with much thought, other than to give everybody 45 minutes. The whole team is swapped at half-time, and we have players missing, in our Brazilians and Cech for example. I personally thought we we looked like a team who were trying to develop a better passing game, but one that just hasn't clicked yet. It will need time. The pace was actually pretty good. And no, not every pass and run came off, but again, we weren't playing with a finely tuned squad, just a mixture of everybody available. And perhaps I'm just delusional, but I didn't think Bosingwa looked to bad yesterday.
  12. On fist viewing the collar kills it for me, a round neck and I would be absolutely loving it. Hate kits with collars to be honest. That said, my opinion is subject to change, I didn't like the away when I first saw it and now I think it's grand. Slightly off topic, but this is a tidy effort from Adidas.
  13. I think he has custom basketball Nike's with the Barca crest on them. Edit:
  14. I've just finished reading a book called "Why England Lose & Other Curious Football Phenomena Explained / Soccernomics". If that book taught me anything, it's that stats can be cherry picked and unreliable. Numbers are good, but they don't paint the whole picture. Kalou, whilst a good player and somebody who can score goals, also misses sitters that my granny could score. He can be incredibly frustrating to watch and at times acts like a spoilt brat. If he stays, good. But I won't shed a tear if he goes either.
  15. I don't get why people worry about Torres. It's not as if the entire team was playing brilliantly and he was a week link. Torres was unfortunate to come in to the team during a heavy slump, with a seemingly uninspired coach. Then we can throw the fact we lacked the quality a player like him needs to thrive and getting to know new team mates in to the mix, and it's hardly surprising he wasn't firing on all cylinders. Looking at his performances objectively, he really didn't play all that bad. Sure he lacked goals, but he was a decent team player. The only reason he looks particularly bad is because of all the press surrounding him. I think he'll be back and scoring this season.
  16. So what do we think the chances are of this getting sorted and officially confirmed today?
  17. It would be nice to get this sorted so that all the speculation can get put to bed.
  18. Knocked this up for a guy on another forum. I think it looks far better without the needless stripes and the Adidas logo off centre. Though I like our away I think it would of looked better plain black rather than having blue squares.
  19. Obviously I have no idea how Luiz would fair as a RB because he is untried. But he does like to get up the pitch, we've seen him want to attack, and he seems keen. No doubt a proven RB would be preferable, but maybe it would be worth trying him. When Ivanovic plays there he brings nothing to the role in my opinion. If David Luiz worked in such a role I'd like to see, Luiz --- Alex --- Terry --- Cole I know it's speculation and jaw flapping on my part, but it's just food for thought. I think Ivan is great, but I'd rather have Alex and JT as preference.
  20. Fair enough, lets put it down to misunderstanding. I was just thinking this today. I wonder how he'd be in a RB position.
