Right enough? I couldn't remember where I heard it, I just remember hearing somewhere. Either way, sure Frank isn't what he used to be, but Justin_3d's opinion of him is far lower than it really has any rite to be. Listening to him talk you'd think Lampard did nothing the whole time. Anyway, I'm done talking about it because it will just go round in circles. Each to their own.

Well realistically the topic is a very subjective one to begin with. There is of course the chance, statistically or otherwise that certain players did play better than Frank. However, you don't get named player of the tournament for playing shit. And what? It wasn't player of the day. What does it matter which players played better than him on individual days?
-
You change your tune with the tide though. I commented on a post of yours the other day, were you slated Torres page after page to then say you feel sorry for him because of all the negativity surrounding him. It's people like you generating it! How does that make sense? Now you're going on about Frank Lampard's poor performances. He won player of the tournament! Sure, it's not a big tournament, but they could of picked any amount of players to award this to, but they chose him. So he hardly played that bad. In fact, everybody knows he didn't play bad. You come across as if you're posting for postings sake, and critiquing certain players just to be controversial or to gain attention. If this stands... ... and Frank Lampard, our player of the tournament is a "weak point" that we need address and improve on. Then we really are in bad shape. You're talking rubbish. Next!

Have they been confirmed as the two signings Gourlay was referring to?

And so another five days for something to happen. If we're given a time frame of X amount of days, why do people feel the need to worry and complain before that time frame is up? Everybody needs to calm down and wait the ten days. If nothing comes by then, by all means go nuts.

I've actually just done the first month of P90X. It's pretty hard going. Usually play football 3 times a week for a couple of hours too.

If it's not raining, it's not training.

About 90% of your posts in this thread have been bad mouthing Torres. Now all of a sudden you feel sorry for him because of the bad press he gets?
-
Really feeling sorry for Torres at this point. The keeper didn't even get a sniff of that shot that hit the post. If that had of gone in it would of brought the place down.

I always try to be more positive, and I'm going to once more. This image above says it all about today's game. We all know he isn't on his best form, but he was marked out of the game today. There were times he had 6 players surrounding him. He generally never had less than 3 chasing him. I can't understand people saying that, "he tried to take on 3 players to prove himself instead of passing". He couldn't pass, because as soon as the ball left his foot, one of his many pursuers was able to get on the end of it. When I mean for example, when he got brought down in the box he had 2 defenders clambering over him.
-
My sentiments exactly.
-
Drogba effort offside? Huh?
-
Lovin' this game I must say.
-
The defenders are stepping up this half!
-
He's somewhat pedestrian because that's the role he plays. He waits for that killer pass that he can take and run with. But it's hard for him to do that when, 1) He's not getting said pass and 2) He's constantly got four defenders following his every move. That's not to say he's back to his brilliant self and is well on form, he's not. But he is looking better and better. And for what it's worth, I hope you're right about Drogba. I hope he does come on and do 10x what Torres has, and has loads of chances and make loads too. However, if the last game was anything to go by, he'll come on and do just about as much as Torres, if not less. Edit: I don't know why people feel the need to compare the two. Different players with different styles. I, like most, want both to thrive.
-
He has nearly four or five players around him at all times. What's he to do? Edit: Super Frank!
-
Crazy stuff. Pretty sure he was nearly piggy backing two of them!
-
Is it just me or are at least 4 of the Thailand All Stars following Torres at all times? Every time you see him he's crowded out.
-
We'll see.
-
I predict this game will play out slightly better than the last, just like the one before it. We'll win, keep a clean sheet, but still nearly everybody will complain because we didn't score 6 whilst doing back flips in between. Would love to see lost of goals but I'll just be happy with the win.

eldo, this quote from AVB you posted pretty much sums it up mate. I notice though that it went unnoticed. Seemingly it's not negative enough for most people to take any notice of.
-
This is why I had to question people earlier. I like both and want both to succeed. But some people seem insistent on proving one is better than the other. Like I said earlier, I personally think Torres played better than Drogba today, but really I want them both to shine when they're on the pitch. People seemingly want one or the other to fail, which blows my mind.
-
Maybe I'm picking you up wrong. But do you want Dorgba to show him how it's done? Are you per chance hoping Torres fails?
-
I'm sorry, but it does matter. If Dorgba was juggling the ball up and down the pitch, skinning every player who came near him and spanking goals in left, right and centre, then I could concede that he did indeed teach Torres a lesson. However, he didn't. He scored a set piece, which is not a part of Torres' game, and it was jammy goal at that. Drogba did no more than Torres today. In fact, he might even of done less. I'm not having a go at Dorgba's performance. It just seems people on here find it really hard to watch our games and comment on them objectively.
-
Nothing short of a 6-0 steamrolling session seems to impresses half the folks on here. They also conceded 3. He scored a controversial free kick. What part of that is a lesson to Torres? People forget we are in pre-season, which is effectively a fitness session with everybody getting a chance on the pitch. The play is nowhere near as bad as people on here let on. I could understand the gripes if this was the UCL final, but come on.
