I'm not so sure mate, (I think) Torres only has 8 goals this season in all competition, that includes the 1 he got in the Asia trophy. 3 EPL, 2 UCL, 2 FA Cup, 1 Asia Trophy. Drogba: EPL 5, UCL 4, Asia Trophy 1. Admittedly the assists stat I got was from AQA 63336, but all the rest of the stats they gave me check out so I assume it's correct. I think it's worth noting that for a guy who's poor season has been in the spotlight so much, that compared to our other option in Drgba, who has come under relatively little scrutiny, and in fact is often hailed by some of our fans as the answer to our Fernando Torres problems. Between EPL, UCL, FA and CC cup... Torres: 7 goals, 11 assists, Drogba: 9 goals, 3 assists, Two poor seasons no doubt, but it goes to show how the rediculous magnitude of Torres criticism relative to Drogba's. Wouldn't be great if they were both on fine form?

Huh? Ah yes, some rationale. I'll tell you what amazes me. I was just looking in the Torres transfer thread, and the last post I seen was somebody saying that whilst Torres may have a bunch of assists, he only pops up for 5 minutes to give the assist and then becomes anonymous. Between that and Las7's 5 clear cut chances theory, I do wonder if people actually pay any attention to the games at all. I missed the first 30 minutes of today's match. I popped on to the other forum I use and asked what I missed only for some Newcastle supporter to tell me Torres had "fluffed" multiple chances. So as you can imagine I'm thinking the worst. Then I see replays of Torres hitting shots and defenders sliding in within about a foot of him and making brilliant blocks, and naturally I'm left scratching my head at this guys "fluffed" and Las7's "scuffed shots" assessment. Sometimes I think people get the impression that playing football is like playing FIFA. Hold B and point in the general direction of the net for an instagoal. I'm all for fair criticism, but what bothers me about Torres's critics which includes many of our own fans, is that virtually each and every shot that doesn't end up as a goal is automatically labelled as "poor". Some of the efforts I've seen the guy called out on wouldn't get a second look if it were anybody else. And what makes it all worse, is when people sit and moan about Torres and then talk about Drogba is if he's on fire, when in fact, it's a toss up between who's had the worse season. Sometimes I think people forget what exactly we have in Torres. If this guy gets back to his best then we're laughing. And I think the objective supporters among us can see that right now, he's a better option than Drogba.

I don't think you could call many of today's chances clear. I'm guessing you're referring to to the two from close range, but really, if anything, the defending there has to be commended. My boy Fernando getting it done today... I'll defend him to the death so long as he's playing well. And his performances of late have deserved no more criticism, in fact recently, quite often less than any amount of players on the pitch. If two assists and a goal is one of his worse games, then I for one think he should be a guaranteed starter.

Something that's always sort of bothered me (because I'm a moany so and so) is the "View New Posts" button at the bottom right hand corner. Particularly if you multi quote, because if you want to clear the quotes you can't because the "View New Posts" floats over it. Like so...

I sort of like this idea. What exactly is the issue with it? Is it setting up such a large poll? Keeping track of the numbers? Or both? If it's keeping track of the numbers then excel is your friend. If some nice forum user who is a dab hand at Excel would keep track of them them say, maybe at the end of the day, or some other determined cut off time, it would be fairly painless to keep track of in the long run. I'm a dab hand at Excel, but sure if I'm nice enough though .

Some highlights if you can call them that... Today's game was a snoozefest. Gary "only a Bolton player" Cahill is swiftly becoming one of my favourite players. I knew he would be a good signing, and I feel smug every time he plays well.

Charlie Adam - Looks like he should be plumbing, not playing football. Gerrard - Ugh. Suarez - Needn't go in to detail. Craig Bellemy - Has no neck and he needs slapped about. Jamie Carragher - Just don't like him. Joey Barton - Worlds most giant prick. Gareth Barry - Same reason as Carragher. Lastly and possibly quite an unpopular choice... Messi. I just can't have him. It's not that he seems like a bad person/sport or that he's a bad player (obviously not that) but I just hate the love Barcelona get and he's the spearhead of that.
