OK then. Question though, we have 4 games left this month (another one first day of Jan.), do you expect Hazard, Matic, Cesc to play all these games and consistently play at a high level? I think there will likely be an off performance like against Sunderland, and with 3 of the PL games away from home, that could spell trouble. I believe clubs with good squad depth end up being the most successful. Of course it's not a fact, but it can't possibly be a bad thing to be able to rest your stars whenever necessary.
-
It wouldn't hurt to have more rest considering we have a spell coming up when we play on the 26th, 28th and again on the 1st. You can't tell me the (unnecessary) minutes played here, won't end up having an impact then. I would like to win this cup if possible, but we need to use our squad depth at this moment. If our bench players can't beat Derby, then I wonder how we're going to get through December playing the same 11 every game.
-
Why would it be full strength team though? This is the league cup, not FA cup. This is also December where we have far bigger games coming up, this is a great chance to rest some people imo. Apart from defence where we don't have a plethora of options, I only expect Willian and one of Matic/Cesc to start if Rammy can't play.

I agree with you. Costa is a beast, but he needs the right passes to score. This is what he wasn't getting much of during his dry spell. He was he getting the ball in positions where he needed to dribble past a few players to get a shot off. If he's on form, he can score some special goals, but it's not his typical game.
-
Away at Palace. Two special goals.
-
When was the last time Falcao started a game? With Welbeck and Hernandez gone, Wilson is 4th choice. 1 injury and he plays.
-
Chelsea squad is too stacked for youngsters to ever start. No Courtois? Ok Cech. No Cech? Ok Schwarzer. It's like this in every position. Unless a youngster can make the most of random 5 minutes cameos like Ake, it's hard for them to ever play.
-
The frustration just boiled over this game. 1 goal and 1 assist the entire PL season is not good enough. Oscar gets a lot of stick, but I think Willian is even less creative than him
-
He's not injured. He was suspended for picking up his 5th yellow last game.
-
Losing to this team must be the biggest joke of the season.
-
There was 0 composure from most players in that game. We were up 1-0, there was no need to rush anything - Hull probably have the worst attack in the league, the game was won after 7 minutes. Yet some players were still diving and making unnecessary plays.
-
Great play Schurrle, unlucky.
-
It's more frustrating for the subs, this is meant to be their best chance to play. But Mourinho gives them 10 minutes lol.
-
The last 6 games, Mourinho barely ever wants to make a change.
-
Will Mourinho wait till they score as usual?
-
Willian should have been subbed after 20 minutes.
-
Willian is annoying; he's so shit in attack but he works ever so hard pressing, so it's not easy for Mourinho to drop him. LMAO.
-
Cech still ever so shaky on crosses.
-
Lol Willian, every game the same thing with him winning the ball and going nowhere with it.
-
WOW
-
Add Schurrle and it would have been a really positive lineup, but this should be enough for this game.
-
For me, Oscar is the most ideal replacement we have for Fabregas. Anyway, let's just hope Hazard can play well. Without Cesc, we're back to last season's dependence on him in attack.
-
When he made his trademark run against Newcastle (Fabregas of course spotted him, but he was slightly offside) I had renewed hope about him. Very happy he found the net finally. He will surely get more chances this month to prove his importance.

I watched the game till 85th minute and i can't believe PSG only managed to score 1 goal. Barca were good but not very impressive, and their highline was there to be exploited. Cavani was so pointless in the game, they should have used Lavezzi and used his pace on the counter instead.
