  1. Yeah they had top old players who had given all they could in the previous year. Did firing Rafa solve the problem? nope they hired some other guy, then Leonardo then Ranieri all in the space of 2 years. Not to mention they have a new manager now lol.
  2. I think he would use Oscar in a deeper role, we shall see though.
  3. RDM should have dropped those that weren't performing, especially the two that you mentioned and we would have probably gotten more wins this month, and he'd still have a job.
  4. How exactly do you stop being a good manager? sure you can stop being a good player as you get older or stop being a good team when your best players leave, but manager? He had a bad season at Liverpool yes, but that does not make him a bad manager. His failure at Inter wasn't just on him like i have said before, they fired him in December 2010 and have had 4 different managers since then, so surely it all couldn't have been his fault.
  5. The facts do not tell anything. Most of those managers did not even manage to last the amount of time he did at Valencia and Liverpool.
  6. Why would he sell his best players and complain about it? lol. And i can't remember all the players he signed but Alonso, Torres and Mascherano are top of the list.
  7. Because they started selling their best players, and sure he made some bad signings but which manager hasn't? he still got them some very good players.
  8. What about the years before that? when he finished 2nd in the league, won the CL, reached another CL final, won the F.a cup, won at Valencia - surely takes a good manager to achieve this.
  9. Good luck to him, another interim appointment, if he does well will they give him a new contract or just go for pep?
  10. Overreaction, the same thing that happened when AVB was fired, and Roman had the last laugh. He will be laughing again soon
  11. Maybe he's the only manager that wants the job? best available candidate? not everything has to be about Torres.
  12. How do you know it's to get the best out of Torres? obviously people can just add 1 + 1 and come up with that conclusion, but it could be more than just that.
  13. Play the ball with speed you say? sign him up!
  14. Despite winning the CL, reaching another final and finishing 2nd in the league?
  15. I'm only going by BBC and they're pretty reliable.
  16. The thing is though the pressure will be on him from the very first minute since a lot of the fans do not like him. A couple bad games and you will already start seeing banners about him. So he has to start well if he is indeed appointed, and no better way than to beat the league leaders on Sunday.
  17. How long do you think it will be before we get a "Rafa Benitez out" thread? monday maybe?
  18. I don't see how you can blame him entirely for what happened at Inter, didn't they also fire their next manager after him? it was more of a problem with the team, the team he had said he needed money to improve. Also at Chelsea he won't be be main person in charge of transfers, he can say he wants players and Roman + the board will try to make it happen. I don't know much about his tactics so no comment there, but they seemed to work a lot against Chelsea.
  19. At least in Rafa we will be getting another manager who managed to win the CL by miracle.
  20. Rafa is the best person available, would be stupid to pass on him and hire Grant for example. People only hate him so much because of his ties with Liverpool and how he kept getting the better of us under Jose.
  21. Really? like playing 2 defensive wingers?
