  1. Actually there's a good chance of any player you sign flopping. They're both great players, we just have to hope if we get one of them, that he performs.
  2. They're just repeating what was on the Mirror earlier, about Roman not wanting to pay so much for him. A lot of conflicting bs out there, it's not even January yet lol.
  3. When he isn't having a good game, there's almost no difference between him and Torres. But those days are not very common like they are for our no. 9.
  4. I have noticed this too. Looks like he's in a blip, his exceptional form wasn't going to go on forever.
  5. It's not really forcing the issue, getting a decent striker in January does not rule out signing Falcao or Cavani in the summer. The top European teams don't just have 1 good striker, but 2 or more, while we atm have none.
  6. I agree we do not create enough chances like Man utd for example, but over the course of the 17 games Torres has started this season, there have been more than 10 times he's had a clear opportunity and found a way to fuck up. Something you would not expect to happen over and over with an in form clinical striker. There have also been instances where we have had the ball and a chance to create something on the counter and then Torres gives it away with a ridiculous touch or a really shitty pass. Look at games against Norwich and Nordsjallend for example, he had like 7 chances (combined) and managed to score 1 goal. Against Spurs he fucked up 2 good chances, against Arsenal he tripped himself on a 1 v 1, against Wigan another 1v1 failed to hit the back of the net. Shakhtar away, more of the same. This keeps happening, he still has 7 goals this season but with a better striker that number will probably be at 12 or higher right now.
  7. What does it matter? isn't his job to be in the box and putting the ball in the back of the net? Chicarito is soooo useless outside the box, he's still a deadly striker. And he's also a "poor man's Falcao" but i wouldn't say no to him at Chelsea. And it's popular opinion that we need to get someone in January, and hopefully we will because depending on Torres to get us top 4 and probably into semi's of CL is ridiculous.
  8. The thing is he won't just get put into the starting 11, even though we all know Torres is ridiculously bad. This is why he has to perform better when he comes on as a sub (making it impossible to ignore him) - i'm not asking him to score or anything like that, just do something positive. When he came on in the 88th minute vs Shakhtar he gave the ball to them at around the half way line with his first touch which was just horrible. He came on at Swansea and more of the same.
  9. When Sturridge came on for like 5 minutes against Spurs and scored a tap-in, no one was saying anything about him playing few minutes, but how he should start over Torres because he was in a correct position on a counter. But when he comes on and does nothing but give the ball away, it's because he's only playing a couple minutes? weird logic. For him to force RDM to give him more minutes he has to make the most of the few minutes he gets, this is what a shit load of players have had to do.
  10. Of course we can, but in January we have to get someone in and any of these 4 are an upgrade over Torres and Sturridge.
  11. Who's better and available in January? and we're not Newcastle? lol i would love to have the strikers Newcastle have.
  12. He came on against QPR away and immediately was our best player and created a brilliant chance for Eden to win the game. And also forced a good save out of Cesar. I can't remember the game now, but we were at home and he came on and did well once again. Then people started calling for him to start games and he has kept on impressing.
  13. I swear i think the exact same. He looks like a winger and plays like a winger, but wants to be a striker, so weird.
  14. We can get both for possibly under 20m, which would be really good business.
  15. Lmao i said this since forever, but people are still making excuses like "he only plays 5 minutes" that's why he can't do anything positive when he comes on How exactly does he except to get a chance if he does not make the most of his sub appearances? this is what Moses has been doing, this is what even fucking Kalou did.
  16. Our defence was solid also, if we're talking about positives. The last 2 league games with Ivanovic at the back and Azpi as RB we have defended 100 times better. I'm sure it has something to do with Luiz not being there lol.
  17. Mate I'm not talking about Torres, we all know he's bad – but Sturridge has to fucking do better when he comes on. All he does is give the ball away.
  18. Sturridge never does anything when he comes on as a sub, just leave him on the bench.
