His distribution from the back, his ball-keeping ability as well as his dribbling ability are something none of our CBs possess, and not just them - as far as those attributes go he's in the 95 percentile among CBs in general. Plus, Kante and Matic in front of Luiz should be more than enough cover when he decides to bring the ball up. People may have forgotten but the last time Luiz was around we had Lampard, Ramires, and Mikel playing in midfield which is a couple of levels below our current options (defensively and offensively, mind you). When will people learn that clubs make almost no money from shirt sales? The vast majority of kits are being provided by adidas directly to selling companies which means that adidas gets the money. Why else would adidas or any other shirt provider pay millions to football clubs if the latter didn't give up their shirt rights? The only money clubs make through kits is by selling kits directly in their fan shops, no more.

Nothing that I've read and seen from KK has convinced me of him being a good enough CB for nowadays' football and with Zouma/Terry/Cahill(/Ivanovic) as the current other options at CB our play from the back would continue to be abysmal, to put it mildly. I don't get this club's love affair with technically poor players. I really don't.

While I get what you mean I do think you can get away with playing Fabregas there. Defensively, for example, you would have Willian/another winger drop into midfield and play with a 3-man formation there while one of the strikers helps out on the wing if necessary. Speaking about offense though we've known for years now that to get the best out of Fabregas (and Hazard) we need to keep the ball and dominate possession; fortunately, Conte seems to like playing with the ball more than that former manager of ours...
