Been on this forum for years, can't believe i am still suprised by these childish replays. Let me remained you this i watch football to be entertained, and i hope all of you do the same because it is only rational reason to watch compitition sports. A football club responsibility is to entertain their fans, because this is why we pay them with our time and money. This is an unequivalent truth that no one should forget. Forgeting this is like a a public company shareholder forgeting that the company unequivalent responsibility is to them. We beated a mid-table team, while playing a small team tactic. Simple down to the truth.

Let me say this i was always confident in a victory. Or should i say i was confident in Spuds bottleing it. Set piece goal or an own goal, i expected a combination but it suprised me to see both. But the way we won was disgraceful, we showed to much respect to a mid-table team. We parked the bus against Spuds and played like a small team against spuds. Let that sink in. I don't feel any joy in this victory, win at all cost is a principle i just can't get behind.

You have to use nominations/awards and stats to justify your points. You some time have to use reporters/ websites rating system to justify your points. You can't ignore all of them, you can't only rely on your own perception because we are all bias, some more then others and some less then others. Our brains has a tendency to do the following: Delete, distorte, and generalize. Try this where ever you are. Close your eyes for 10 seconds, then open your eyes and count all the blue things you see. Soon you will try to count things that are purple as blue and anything that resemble the color blue you will distorte it that way. Then you make an instant generalisatin that there are more blue things then any other color, often time that is not the case. What you do is delete all other colors and only see what you want to see. Same things apply in analyzing players, we look for things that reinforce our perceived notions. For example if you are a critic of Oscar you will only see the negatives and delete every positive things he does in the game. When you only focus on the negative, no shit you will only see him as a bad player. Then minimize all of his contribution in our potential title winning season, some posters believe his only good game was against juve or only has had handful of good games in his career. In contrast ignore all of the accolades, states, and nominations that really supports that Oscar is one of our best players. If you ignore every evidence and dismiss everything that does not support your perception then honestly you can't be helped and I can't waste my time on you.

Lazy argument by me? I just pointed out two simple facts. One he ha been nominated POTM and second some here think he is useless/garbage/weak link/ etc Btw I do not engage in arguments. My openion is that Oscar hasent looked his best in recent games, that goes for most of our players with the exception of Willian who is playing his best football in Chelsea uniform. But I certaintly don't think he is deserving of the criticism either.
-
Nominated for POTM, while some on this forum will try to convince you he is garbage.
-
Oscar is not the only one who goes missing in big games, so does Cesc. IDK maybe Mou negative approach has something to do with it. The most positive we played in a big game was against arsenal, confidently both were fantastic and Oscar was by many considerd MOTM.
-
I personally think Laporte and Varane are France future CBs at this point. I don't like Zouma style personally he needs to be more disciplined. His tackle on Aguero was fantastic in the box. But he could have had the same effect by just closing on him on his feet, would have had the same effect and with much less risk. With Aguero and his theatricals tendencies, who knows this could have been a penalty. Anyway he was one of the bright spot on the day, hope he continues his progressive development.

It is not rational to suggest Oscar should be replaced, he has had a good season overall. He has played a major role in our success this season. He has had critical performance, goals and assist that often been a difference. If he can replicate his Aug-Jan performance in the second half, that is a fantastic season. If he has a sup par second half like last season, then I might agree that we should consider an upgrade. Btw What is your expectation for Oscar? And when you say he is not good enough who are you comparing him to? I would like to hear anyone answer. Btw in no way I am excusing his performance tonight, but let's keep perspective 1. We played a very negative approach 2. He played 120m 3-4 days ago. 3. It was still one game
-
He had a bad game no doubt. But why is the openion of Willian is higher then Oscar on this forum? Any rationale fan would conclude that Oscar has had a much better season, and it is not even close. While Oscar was a passenger tonight, Willian has been a passanger all season.
-
They might have a golden generation of CB if Varane,Laporte,Zouma, and mangala develop properly. But overall I don't see that much exciting talent all over the pitch.
-
Even though I am Chelsea fan first I still want the best for Schurrle, his best position is covered by our best player and he is too good of a player to play once or twice a month. He is going to do well at Wolfsberg and we get enough money to cover JC transfer.
-
You couldn't say that about Hazard, but that doesn't mean Oscar is easily replaceable and we are a better or equal team without him. with the exception of his assist COC match he has done nothing in months. Ramires absence will lead us to believe he is better then he is. Neither player can replace Oscar, if we look at every game Oscar has played in this season he is easily one of our top 5 player this season. I glanced at this board a few weeks ago, and I have never seen a player get more critized after his G+A per against Newcastle,
-
That is intresting conclusion, I would like to know how do you conclude that?
-
Agree Also if you give in to Florintina demands then other teams will bully us in negotiation. With the exception of the Willian deal we have payed very reasonably.
-
4-4--2 -----------Costa------- ----------Hazard------ Koke--------------------Oscar --------Cesc-Matic------- How I would accommodate Koke if somehow he was signed The singing is extremely unrealistic and unlikely though
-
I don't think we will sign him, but it is not really out of the question that he leaves Madrid this summer or next tbh. It is not like he is a fan fav at Madrid or place unquestioned. Isco has improved greatly since arriving in Madrid, if he continues his play he might force Bale out of the lineup. In case we have forgot this is Madrid, they will continue to buy a new toy even if not needed. They just sold a better player then Bale this past summer in Di Maria. United have a major hard on for Bale, so i would guess that would be his next destination. If given the choice between Bale and Reus? i would take Reus all day, even if you don't agree with the openion that Reus is better a player, but the value we can get Reus makes this even easier. I don't think Bale is a poor mans version of CR7 at all, in fact he is more like a dead man version of CR7.
-
Don't think he is even a striker from the minimum I have seen of him.

I absloutely have no sympathy for any EPL sides. In fact the EPL has declined, mainly due to lack of a great side or sides. As we all remember when Roman bought Chelsea, we won 2 straight titles. It forced and challanged Liverpool, Arsenal, and United to be great and overthrow us from the top. In that period EPL became the best league in the world, and would have reguarly two to three sides with legit shot at CL and at the very least would go very far in the tournement. In recent years, we are the only club that actually is a threat in the European stage. The PL have become complacent due to the drop off at the very top, it lacks a dominent side. Obviously another reason for the league complacent is due to money, this league is too rich for its own good. The product on the pitch does not match the increase of revenues of this league. PL is a marketing monster. It is quite amazing that Atletico Madrid and Dortmund have a lower revenues stream then mid table teams in the PL. So i don't feel sorry for the rest of the PL clubs either, they can compete too but they need to be creative. Prime example is Southampton, look what they have done after the fire sale they had in the summer. How many other clubs would have hired someone like Koeman and the signing they made. Most PL sides keep hiring the same crap managers like Steve Bruce, Big Sam, Warnock, etc. They are doing nothing good with the money, just doing the same old uncreative shit. Sorry for going off topic, but saying we shouldn't sign Reus because it would make the league uncompetitve is a pretty bad argument.

Bernat is pretty good and a good singing for Pep. But his successor at Valencia is truely the special LB and the future of Spain. Jose Gaya is amazing, only 19 already better then Bernat. Valencia knew that, and which is why it was easy to swallow the loss of Bernat. They also have Salva Ruiz, same age as Gaya not as good but definitely has the potential to play for numerous sides in La Liga in the near future. minor mistake but Bernat is 21.

Don't mean to be rude but i find myself chuckling that some of you believe we will promote youth players, just because Mou said so. Lets be honest Mou has never been a specalist in bringing up youth players and integrating them into the first team. England clubs in general have a problem in developing English players. The increase revenues and popularity of PL have come at a cost, the development of young players have been neglacted. With so much money at each club disposel, the easier path is buying foreign players rather then developing one. When you look at the lack of talent in the England NT it is quite obvious how poor this league is in developing young players.
-
I don't rate him that highly. But tbf he is not just without Suarez, he is without Sturridge also. Sturridge was PL player of the month when Suarez was suspended last season. Both players combined for 52 league goals, many managers would struggle replacing those two players. Anyway Liverpool are not a good team at all, but always tough winning at Anfield. I have to say what was the point of playing Ramires on the right wing, he was playing Willian role. IDK how Willian couldn't have played his role better, then someone trying to play like him. I thought that was strange decison by Mou.
-
Moses has looked good for Stoke tbh, and really at his times at Chelsea i thought he was servicable. A player you could depend on at times, I would take Moses as our 5th-6th AM. Salah has looked far from decent, and really he hasen't offered anything to this team. He needs a loan, something to find his form and develop.

Oscar technically limited? So i would say he is not up there with the most technical no.10s in the world, but he is far from being labeled as technically limited. His technique from a shooting and set pieces is wonderful and among the best at his position. In his Chelsea career he has provided some great magic with his first touch(ex:his Juve goal his first touch was amazing setting up the goal). Some of his passes this season have been really wonderful can't count how many times this i have rewatched what may look like a simple pass but see it again you really appreciate it and difficulty of it. I remember posting Pat Nevin video reviewing Oscar passes against Bolton he does a great job of analyzing his amazing passes. Oscar can make some really difficult passes look simple. Oscar is good technically, he is not a technical extraordinaire by any means though. I think you are not seeing it if that all you see from Oscar is his workrate. Oscar imo is the most complete no.10 in the world at the moment. He can have a average game offensively and can change a game defensively with his performance(ex:Arsenal), can score a beautiful and timely goal and provide killer passes. He is vital in our retention of the ball; does very well in pressure and maintain possession. He can drop back and control the midfield with his ability to distribute. At his form he is undropable, if all he provides is work rate then surely Willian and Ramires can do his job right? Mourinho would disagree, when asked if he is going to rest Oscar against Maribor,"Maybe yes, but maybe not. You can imagine it's not easy to make a decision to rest a player who in this moment is my best player." I don't disagree with Mou at the moment he is our best player.

The criticism is unfair and very harsh. Schurrle is a right footed winger, who likes to cut in on his strong foot and aggressively attack. He also has very good off the ball movement. For me playing him on the right side, i expect him to be hindered and be limited. He will not play his best or on a constant basis as long as you wrongly use him. I don't know what you think would happen when you take away his ability to cut in on his strong foot. But although you guys severely overrated him during the world cup. He is a good player but not in Oscar and Hazard level or in potential.
-
That was my opinion a few years ago. But now he has lost some physical ability, at his current state he is a much fit playing CB then RB. I think this team could do more with a CB that is more comfertable on the ball and aggressive. Also having Azpi is another reason why i would want Ivan as a CB.
