  1. Great throughout? this is the type of overrating that I'm talking about, The barca fixture where the only matches where he produced impressive performance. Majority of their matches in the group stages were absolutely cake walk (Atleti were hardly threatened at the back as was often the case in la liga due to their great defensive organisation) and in the other two games were he was tested during the entire competition, games against Zenith and Real, he made huge errors that led to goals. This is a classic case of rewriting history. As always, atleti defend resolutely, limit their opponents to barely half chances and courtois maybe makes a couple of easy/routine saves that any keeper at the top level would be expected to make, AM keep clean sheet and Thibaut is praised to high heavens for the record he contributed little to. wash rinse and repeat.
  2. No because Cech is quite frankly a better goalkeeper and one of the very best the league as ever seen and he only gets to displace Cech by actually earning it through outperforming Cech in a chelsea uniform in an ideal world.
  3. Ofcourse Thibaut "parry shots back into dangerous zone" Courtois is better.
  4. So because it worked out perfectly 10 years ago means history will repeat itself again? only if football was that predictable. anyway let's wait and see but from what I have seen of Courtois since his last season at genk to this point I remain unconvinced and underwhelmed. Cech remains Chelsea undisputed no1 goalkeeper in my eye until Courtois is able to prove otherwise.
  5. What has he done to earn the first spot ahead of Cech? performance wise, cech has always been better than him and premier league proven.
  6. So I'm the only one on here that genuinely believes Cech is superior to Courtois and should remain as no 1? Am I missing something here, Only 2 goalkeepers are superior to cech at this point i,e Neuer and De gea and the latter is even debatable. It's a shame how quickly opinions have turned and how eager people are to crown Thibaut as the numero uno even though he's done absolutely nothing yet to earn it.
  7. He Will get a statue next to ossie at this rate. The club are trying so hard to promote him as something he isn't I.e a superstar/face of chelsea
  8. If he has yet another dissappointing season this time around, the usual suspects will still make excuses for him. Its a guarantee
  9. Why exactly is he worthy of lampard number. What has he done to earn it. Further proof that he's the most overrated player in the squad. He better do that number justice as it was previously worn by a player who was Hallmark of consistency and excellence and holds huge significance.
  10. With the amount we have invested You better duck for cover. You don't say such things around here. Oscar is the best thing since salted pretzels.
  11. There's no reason why Salah and Moses should be in the squad ahead of this guy and Thorgan Hazard. How the Chelsea board decides who's senior team ready/material, I will never understand.
  12. I have taken a step back on the Oscar criticism and rarely even post in his thread anymore but this post hit the nail on the head. He's one of the most clumsy AM's I have seen in a while.
  13. I use to think we are well covered at the back and didn't need to buy a top class defender then I saw Zouma in action and coupled with the realization that JT doesn't have many more years left in him and I'm not so sure anymore.
  14. I can't be the only one that was never sold on him from day one surely? One of the most overrated youngsters in our ranks alongside Piazon
  15. Modric and Xavi had and showed more balls and work ethic at Josh's age though. He has the worst kind of problem for a youngster, laziness, lack of focus and balls.
  16. Bony will be a great second choice to Costa. We should have got him before he joined swansea when we had the clear advantage.
  17. Their defence or should I say defending was shocking the last time they ran away with the league in 12/13. City's defence last season was far from stellar also even though statistics makes it look better than it actually is. One thing i have learned in recent times is offense wins you the premier league title rather than defence. Our failure to win the league last season is further proof that a devastating attack is highly important in title challenge. Your defence has to be absolutely terrible (bottom of the league or pub team terrible to truly matter in the end if you have the best attack/offense in the league)
  18. You misunderstood me. I used the Muller reference to highlight Willian's lack of directness and low productivity and How these type of players are more useful and valuable to a team's success than the all show no substance types. I could have used Robben, Ribery, and just about any other productive AM to make that point but Muller is less flashy.
  19. From my criticism of oscar and Luiz (former) by now everyone already knows that I can't tolerate players who do not excel or atleast perform their primary task with decent level of proficiency. Therefore, I wan't my defenders to be rock solid defensively, my attacking midfielders to be creative and aggressive etc. I don't have time for players who suck at their primary task/role.
  20. Football is a game of Efficiency and productivity. Players like Thomas Muller win you titles while players like Willian win you spoons and sum total of fuck all.
  21. So his energetic pressing game is the only argument being used in his favor. well guess what, schurrle is just as good at pressing and despite being a LW by trade, offers far more offensively from the right wing than our "mr play it safe"
  22. If Jose starts willian ahead of schurrle for the upcoming season,I will be livid
  23. Willian really is the Mikel of wingers.
  24. Ivanovic needs to calm the fuck down. what's his problem nowadays?
