I’m just glad we aren’t hearing noises about Caicedo pushing or exploring a move away. As long as we keep the core of Caicedo, Palmer, Cucu, Estevão, João Pedro and Reece I feel like even in such a dark period there’s an extremely high level base to build around. Everyone else is 100% expendable outside of those. You could add Colwill too but it’s a complete mystery as to what he’ll look like when he return after a year out. 
With all the noise going around it’s abundantly clear that Enzo is gone. As much as I’ve turned around on him positively this season, he is definitely the most replaceable of our “big” players. 
As woeful as Palmer has been this season I remain hopeful that he’ll want to stay and he can return to his actual level under a proper manager next season. Because we couldn’t possibly find a replacement for him when he’s in form and the thought of him doing so after we’ve sold him to one of the Manchester clubs is disgusting. 
 
 

We will never be able to lure away or attract a world class manager who is already at a big club to come here with these owners but we MIGHT be able to convince a top manager who is at a decent sized club and ready for the next step up in their career.
For example, if Villa choke and finish outside of the UCL places I wonder if Emery would be open to coming here?

I think the only reason they’ll be clinging to as a justification not to sack him is one of the excuses he used in the presser just now. That the CWC has massively affected the squad as the season has gone on. Unless things get so incredibly toxic from here they’ll stick with him.

James in midfield in emergency situations is fine. He can do a job there in one off matches against another massive club who aren’t expecting it. But he should not be playing there regularly over a natural midfielder like Santos who is positionally great.
And this suicidal way Rosenior has the CB’s set up has to stop. We have our CB’s playing super wide with James (who again, ISN’T A MIDFIELDER!) filling that gap in between him. So when you have naive, often stupid CB’s nowhere near the center of the defense + a RB playing in the center, these awful, schoolboy goals are going to keep happening.
Play Reece at RB and Santos in midfield, FFS!

Really does just hammer home that we are going to continue to be run like clowns. This summer will be the same scattergun bullshit, I just know it. Whether Chelsea ascends back to the top is going to depend almost entirely on these idiots getting super lucky that some of these signings they make come good.
