Worst Man United side perhaps ever, manager on the brink on the sack. But then Charity FC once again comes to town.

Brighton 2 up on Spuds. All the more reason that we MUST win today. Brighton up next who are always super tricky followed by Liverpool.
We could very easily fail to win all 3 of these next 3 if we aren’t on it.

We always seem to play down to their level. No matter how shite their football has been or how terrible their form has been leading into the games with us, we always match them shit for shit.
I expect much of the same tomorrow unless Maresca gives us some nice surprises in the XI. Both teams will play not to lose.

Spot on. They’ll be in desperation mode already. They’ll be extremely motivated to make up for that embarrassment in the derby and will raise their game as they always do against us for whatever reason despite being shit against every other big team.
We need to take the game to them and attack with pace and purpose. If we do our usual walking pace + pass it around slowly at the back bullshit then we’ll let this awful Man United side beat us.
Lose this and I’m going to seriously doubt we’re going to kick on and have a solid season.

Think it’s going to be made clear to Maresca VERY soon if it hasn’t already today that Gittens won’t be the starting LW any time soon. Garnacho being PL proven and having a bit of arrogance about him will see him being the main man there quickly. Hopefully starting with the next game if he’s fit enough. Gittens looks shellshocked that he hasn’t been able to just blast by everyone in the PL so far. Looks like a timid child every time they show a close up on him after a failed move. Very Mudryk like.
Still don’t get why we decided to go for him at that silly price and did so in an expedited way. Like someone at the club genuinely thought he would immedietly be a top player. Looks really dumb so far.
It’s like he’s 100% a data driven signing. You see the dribbling/take on data being amongst the best in Europe and think that’ll instantly translate to the PL. But even most of us who watched his footage could see he was nowhere close to a £50m+ winger.

Bayern will be licking their lips at our defense.
Long balls and long throws cause a club with title/UCL ambitions that many issues. Issues we didn’t correct over an entire 90 minutes.

We finally start playing the ball around quicker AFTER conceding that shit goal. 🙄
Maresca really has to work on the team starting matches with far more intensity and a killer instinct. It’s like we always try to feel our way into a match slowly and it’s biting us in the ass in nearly every match thus far.
These small teams like Palace, Brentford, Fulham WANT you to play slowly and keep everything in front of them. They cannot deal with big teams who play quickly and sharply so this is their tactic. And we have once again played right into their hands. Every side has done this to us this season.

Yet another poor start to a match this season. Palace, Fulham, West Ham, and now here.

Ridiculous that BOTH CB’s get caught out by that.

Was hoping this would be an interesting match but Forest look terrified and have been dominated. Now basically game over at 1-0 unless they suddenly gain some balls to actually play football.
Madueke has annoyingly looked very good since joining Arse. Been the best player on the pitch here by far.

Matt Law says the club feel like it’ll just be a fine rather than anything serious.
If they punish the current players on the pitch or even the ownership who weren’t even here back then it’ll be a complete disgrace.

How can you even explain why the club is being charged for shit that happened a decade ago+ other than someone at the FA has an axe to grind against Chelsea?
What a joke. If they punish the current team/ownership for stuff that may have happened 10 years before any of them were even at the club then the club should aggressively fight the FA in court.

I think Wharton ansolutely does have world class potential. Love it if we are indeed after him in future windows.
The part about Lavia being wanted by another big PL club seems extremely far fetched, though. Nobody is going near him until he can show he can stay fit for several months straight. We still have no clue wtf is even wrong with him and he’s just mysteriously out for weeks yet again. That seems to happen over and over.

That Bayern kit is horrific looking, goddamn!
Of course Jackson and his agent had to get a dig in at Chelsea in their statements. Don’t blame him but it’s still annoying.
It’s fine that Nico is upset at how he was treated at the end but he has to remember that it’s 100% down to his own behavior and play that led to this. The red cards, the cynical behavior on the pitch, the constantly fluffing easy chances.
He and his agent basically saying “now he’s at a proper club” kind of takes away any sympathy I had for him.

Overall I’d give our window a 6.5 or 7 out of 10. Delap, João Pedro, and Hato are all excellent buys for me. We brought in Estevão who looks great already. Santos and Essugo look like they’ll be very useful. So in terms of beefing up our squad with quality depth we’ve done very well.
But the signings of Gittens, Garnacho, and Buononotte are very 50/50 and we won’t know if these are good buys for several months once we’ve seen them play a run of games. No new top keeper, no new top CB. Left ourselves dangerously thin up top after the Delap injury.
Most annoyingly, we KNEW that we needed 1 more difference making attacker and identified both Xavi & later Fermin to fill that role. But after getting every fan so excited we were hamstrung by being unable to sell Jackson.
So overall we bought decently, sold mostly extremely well, improved the squad but didn’t improve it enough, and still have some unresolved issues.
Not amazing, not poor. Just “pretty good” I would say.
