  1. Where would he find a new job so quickly? Can't see any way he goes to PSG as he'd be bored out of his mind with that league. Likewise Serie A. Can't go back to Spain. It's either wait for Van Gaal's contract to run out and hope he can persuade them to hire him or take a much smaller job. There are only so many top clubs out there he can manage and he's gone through quite a few.
  2. Mourinho has said more than once that if he ever did leave Chelsea he'd want to coach another English team. There's only one other English team he'd coach. Wonder how people here would feel seeing him as the United manager. Think everyone would dread it.
  3. Nah. Think Iva will be done after this season and will end up at some shit, once great and now irrelevant team like Inter or AC Milan who always sign former star players.
  4. Like I asked a couple of days ago, sacking him and needing to pay such a huge sum would surely impact his potential successor when it comes to signing players?
  5. I think even if the Chelsea job were available he may still choose to go to Liverpool. He'll be treated like a messiah and savior there. He'll also surely be given far more control over all football matters after the sham that was every transfer window under Rodgers. He's clearly very attracted to the history and "name" of Liverpool.
  6. Precisely. Mourinho is to blame for putting Ivanovic out there time and time again and continuing with Cesc when he's clearly hurting more than helping. His man-management hasn't been great either when he readily drops players like JT and Matić yet refuses to drop Iva. His stubbornness and unwillingness to play Baba Rahman (like Luis last season) is maddening. But how can people blame him for the form Hazard, Costa, Matic, Fabregas, Ivanovic, Terry, and Cahill are in? Have they all conspired together to collectively play poorly because they hate his tactics? They didn't have a problem with them last season.
  7. That's not what I'm saying at all but since since you asked, yes, he should get more leeway than anyone else. God knows he's earned it with what he achieved.A couple more results like we've had and he should be gone which is what I've said for the past couple of days.
  8. Now that he's committed publicly to saying RLC will get a run of games, I wonder who it's in place of. I would suspect Matic but surely we won't line up with a two man midfield comprising of Fabregas and RLC? That could leave us even more exposed defensively. I would suggest switching to a 4-3-3 (which I've begged for for ages) but then one of Willian or Pedro would have to be dropped continuously since we know Cesc never gets benched.
  9. Mourinho isn't on the pitch playing, the players are. The same ones that walked the league. Mourinho isn't on our left wing, he isn't in midfield, and he isn't a defender. He sets them out and prepares them just has he did last season when they were good. They're not performing to standard.
  10. It's only nonsensical to people who want to put this all on the manager. Most of those factors you listed are down to the players. Confidence? How the hell can they not be confident after strolling the league? Motivation? The club has talked of creating a dynasty and emulating the great teams of the past. What more motivation do they need? Physical readiness and mentality? We were MILES better than ANY other side in the division last season in this respect. Tactically, yes, José needs to be FAR more progressive and frankly needs to open his eyes and see the bloody obvious. But to blame him for professional athletes who were fantastic a season ago just going to shit overnight is wrong to me. He definitely deserves flak but the players deserve MUCH more.
  11. Bullshit. If we had Stones (or any top CB) and a star midfielder like Koké/Pogba etc from day 1 and played Baba in place of Ivanovic so he'd gel with the team we wouldn't be anywhere near as bad. People placing the huge majority of blame on the manager are blind. An equal amount or more goes on players performing embarrassingly. Take out a couple of them and replace them with other (better) ones and we'd be better off. He had the opportunity and the desire to bring those players in and we failed to do so.
  12. Think Fabregas is a shoe in. Do feel he'll finally drop Ivanovic. For that one game, anyway.
  13. You really think that if we had landed Stones (who was superb until he got injured) and a top class midfielder we'd be in this position now? They would've made a huge difference. It has been proven time and time again that new, top class signings energize and raise the morale of the current players.
  14. Liverpool are without a manager NOW, though. Are you going to go to Klopp and say "wait until the end of the season and we MAY sack Mourinho?" He strikes me as a guy who will be romanticizing about the "history and prestige" of Liverpool and will jump at the chance to manage them. And you really think a player manager with no experience can do a better job than one of the best in football history? Come on, mate.
  15. Well, he's going to be Liverpool's manager within days so who then?
  16. Who do you want to replace José?
  17. I suspect that quite a few of our signings since he's been back have been board signings rather than José ones. Cuadrado, Salah, Schürrle, Djilobodji, Baba...He likely gave the "okay" to these players but I highly doubt they're all his choices.
  18. How is wanting nothing but the best conservative?I've seen people here and other places suggesting we sack José for Unai Emery, Rudi Garcia, or Tuchel from Dortmund. Guys who have really proven nothing and have all done pretty well at clubs with expectations nowhere near what we have here. They'd all have AVB written all over them if we appointed them. We need someone who knows how to manage a huge club with huge expectations.
  19. And it was a once in a million fluke. Sacking Carlo and bringing in AVB was a disaster.Sacking Mourinho and bringing in some young manager from Serie A or Spain etc. like some are suggesting could go the same way. We'd need a big character who has proven he can manage top class players and who has achieved huge success already over a sustained period rather than a flash in the pan season.
  20. Exactly. Which is why he has to, and will, stay on until season's end. If Klopp is still available in 2 weeks time and we get humiliated by Villa at home then I'd pull the trigger. If he isn't then just wait until the summer and have Roman on his knees at Pep's doorstep begging and offering him a mansion in Mayfair or something.
  21. Last time we sacked a top manager and gave a young up and comer a chance we know what happened. Sacking José for someone not even remotely in his class would be idiotic.
  22. If Liverpool do indeed appoint Klopp within the next couple of days as has been reported, who do people suggest we sack José for? There are no outstanding candidates unless you guys want Carlo back.
  23. Man. These are borderline embarrassing comments. So Ivanovic keeps his place because he's tall and an aerial threat? Come on, José. Being more vulnerable to set pieces is a trade off I'm willing to risk if it means playing Baba and Azpi.
  24. They've spent tons of cash on tons of shit players. They know they can't attract stars so they hoarde loads of mediocre ones.Difference with us is that we CHOOSE not to spend £40m on players. We could if we wanted to, they can't.
  25. What do mean "seriously?"Sure they spend a lot compared to most clubs, but they can't compete with ANY of the club's above them for players. They won't/can't spend £40m, £50m, or £60m on a single player or a couple of super stars. Any manager who takes over at Liverpool will be handicapped and restrained by their place in the food chain.
