Has he been good this season? After all the hype and huge price tag Arse were asked to pay over the summer I haven't even heard his name mentioned since then.

Seems like there's a dark cloud hovering over us right now. Which is strange because we were in great form until last weekends defeat. Now all you read is doom and gloom on Twitter. Morata out, everyone burnt out and fatigued, "nightmare" CL draw, our star players being heavily linked away. Could really do with a convincing win here to steady the ship. Would be hugely embarrassing and very worrying if we lose or even drop points to another relegation candidate. Feels like to it could be a turning point in our season. Win and we're right there still in the hunt for 2nd. Lose and Arse/Liverpool/Spuds will pounce and edge ahead. All other small teams that would normally fear Chelsea would be super confident against us, play out of their skin, and our heads may drop like the 15/16 season.

If Conte doesn't start with Bats here with Morata out then it's clear he simply doesn't fancy him. Morata probably is genuinely burned out. Unlike City, United, and even Arsenal we don't have a high quality second striker who can come in and our level doesn't drop off considerably. I mean, City have Aguero and United have Zlatan on their benches. Two legends who could still score 20+ if they were the main men. Even Giroud scores a good amount every season. If Morata picked up a bad injury and we had to play for an extended period with Bats leading our line I think we might finish 6th or something. Anyways, not exactly feeling great about tomorrow. A shit team with one of the worst defenses in the league and yet we seem to play down to these sort of sides' level. We get ourselves up for the big boys (City apart this season) and then can't be bothered against relegation fodder. Hoping for the best but expecting a hugely frustrating game tomorrow.

Whatever. So long as we don't play Cahill against them and Bakayoko can round into form by then we have a good chance. Barca aren't the insane force they were a few years ago. We can beat them.

Of course we get the hardest draw of any English side. Of course. City and United on the other hand should waltz into the next round and may not even need to play their strongest teams.

City winning the PL is hollow and meaningless to me personally, so more power to them. If it's not us they're the most palatable club. Really, really don't want them to win the CL, though.

Nice. Arse and Liverpool both dropping points against sides you'd have expected them to beat. Yesterday doesn't sting as much now. Hoping for a convincing City win now. They're completely out of sight but United/2nd can still be a very realistic goal if they lose today.

If Hazard had Salah's ferocious desire to run constantly and score he'd be the best player in the world. Whereas Eden looks to provide and set up his teammates first, Salah is just a killer who's always looking to score.

Must also be said that we don't really have that player who feasts on small teams and acts like a bully. Look at Kane for example who slaughters the dross of the league. Even Hazard plays much better against bigger and better teams because they actually play football and allow him space. Eden struggles against busses.

Shockingly, it seems our players can't get up for the dross of the league like they can for the better sides. We start in sleepwalk mode and concede early.

Difference with United is what I mentioned in the match thread a few hours ago. Their bottom level is better than ours. They can play like shot and still either win or draw. We play like shit and and even awful sides can beat us.

No lies detected from Conte there. When the two sides above us brought in serious quality while we took risks with unproven ones this was to be expected. The club didn't give us a chance to compete for everything this season. Medicore players = Medicore results.

There really isn't anything else to look forward to this season. Title is long gone and we've all accepted that a while ago. We've lost to Burnley, Palace, and West Ham now this season and were battered by Roma. Imagine what Barca or PSG will do to us in the CL. Scrap for 3rd or 4th. I'm sure Hazard will be delighted to sign that new contract.

Not only did we not score against arguably the worst side in the league, but we hardly even threatened their keeper. Let that sink in. You have a chance to get back into a title race (no matter how faint our hopes) and that is the performance you come out with. We did nothing to dispel the idea that some rival fans have of us being Hazard FC. No Hazard magic here, no Chelsea. If he leaves this summer we may be spending the next few seasons in midtable.

On our day we can look great but the problem is that our bottom level is probably the worst amongst the big 6. Even when Liverpool or Arsenal are playing poorly they can still play great attacking football. Liverpool may concede shit goals but will score a bunch themselves to mask it. When we're off the pace we look dreadful in every area.

I called it right before kickoff. Antonio and Arnautovic have been woeful all season but Chelsea are the perfect medicine. Next game they'll revert back to being useless. We look like we aren't bothered at all. Sloppy, zombie football. The only player on the pitch who goes into the half with any bit of credit is Kante. He's the only one trying. Zappacosta in particular looks like a teenager making his debut.

Thoroughly outplayed by the 19th side on the table. How do we go from comfortably looking better than a very solid Atleti side to this within just days? This is just as bad as Palace.

This is easily the worst we've looked defensively in ages. We're seriously making West Ham look like a top 4 challenger here.
