When Bakayoko is in terrible form like this and we're already carrying a passenger when we don't have the ball in Cesc, teams can just effortlessly play through our midfield. It's such a terrible look for a big team like us.
-
This is fucking embarrassing.
-
At home and allowing Leicester to take the game to us. Fucking hell, man.
-
Expecting a very drab game. Hope like hell Morata gets a goal, though. He really, really needs one for his confidence.
-
Not only is Cahill starting, it looks as though he's starting in the center of the back 3. Vardy will love seeing that!
-
Depending on the Liverpool and Spuds results this weekend, losing today would make me really start worrying about our place in the top 4. Liverpool especially would gain huge confidence if they beat City at Anfield and they'd go above us.
-
I find it extremely difficult to believe that Sanchez would be demanding 400k a week. No clubs other than Chinese clubs or PSG offer that much. Barca and Real Madrid makes super special exceptions for Messi and CR7. I cannot imagine that City or United would offer him that much.
-
When you think about it, he's Arsenal personified. Capable of the sublime but when it really, truly matters he often shrinks under the spotlight. Does do well against us, annoyingly, because we allow him to play in those areas he loves most. Hope he stays at Arsenal as opposed to moving to an actual top rival like United.
-
There's a legitimate chance that both of Arsenal's best players (and absolutely beloved fan favorites) could end up at United for a bargain price in January (Sanchez) and for nothing (Özil) in the summer. Arsenal Fan TV would be a hilarious must-watch but United would have an unbelievable side just like City so double edged sword there.
-
It just pisses me off that sides who are already better than us are looking to add even more quality to their teams. Sanchez isn't Messi but he'd add so much to our team and is miles better than the current options we have.
-
Thing is, when he's available for free in the summer he'll probably have 10 suitors. He's only got a couple now so it would be much easier for any club who really, really want him to get a deal done with less competition. As for wages, I don't think it would be as big of an issue as some make out. Not like Sanchez would be earning quadruple what everyone else in our squad is. Keeps being said that we'll have a whole lot more money flowing into the club with marketing deals. Think we can afford a splurge here and there. Does Roman want to compete with the two Manchester clubs going forward or simply go the Arsenal route of treading water and scraping for 3rd/4th every season.
-
Because even City know he's just an additional toy for them who they don't need. He'd be a complete luxury signing. No use paying £30-35m for that. Sanchez would actually be a huge upgrade for either United or ourselves. I mean ffs, £35m wouldn't even get you Gylfi Sigurdson these days! Someone can get one of the 5 best players in the league for what we paid for Danny Drinkwater and Chelsea aren't even linked.
-
Absolute fucking madness that a world class player like Sanchez is available for a bargain price while we're desperately crying out for a player exactly like him in our team and we don't even appear in the running. Sanchez added to Morata and Eden would finally give us the frightening attack we've been desperate for for years. It would give us a legitimate chance against Barca in the CL. Makes me sick, man.

Rummaging through the bargain bin.

Reading things like this from Conte just now: Basically saying "must be nice to be backed by your club." Could even take it as a wink and a nudge to our board that we can have this fantastic player who Conte knows well for dirt cheap. Also completely left his future beyond this season up in the air. I think he's 100% gone this summer by his own wish.
-
Seeing from the very reliable Arsenal journalists repeatedly that Arsenal are demanding/holding out for around £30-35m while City only want to offer £20-25m. Why the hell don't we just go to Arse with a fantastic offer of £35-40m!? Convince Alexis that he'll be a hugely important piece of our team and not just a cog in the City machine who won't even start every game. Wake the fuck up, Chelsea!
-
Come on, mate. He's about 30 and would have very little sell on value by the end of his next contract. The opposite sort of player our board signs these days.
-
What I was going to say. He didn't have the defenders we have nor did he have N'Golo Kante. Again, ideally Conte stays. If not I don't want another manager who is safety/hard to beat first and foremost like Mourinho or Simeone.
-
AVB is/was an arrogant prick, though. Was never going to work.
-
Too old for the Chelsea board.
-
Conte staying would be the best possible outcome but I think him walking is a real possibility. Say we see our rivals once again signing top players while we scrounge around the dollar/£1 shop for bargains. Will Conte put up with that again if a PSG or AC Milan promise him to moon?
-
I think it's more likely than not that Conte leaves this summer. I just don't want Allegri to replace him as rumors suggest. Simeone I'd pass on as well just because although he's brilliant, he's too Mourinho-like for my taste. Tuchel is the obvious pick. Young, progressive manager who wants to play attacking football.
-
Monaco's manager all but said that if a big enough offer comes in he's certainly off. Will we bid? Of course not. Probably Liverpool bound.
-
True, but Vardy is the exact sort of forward Cahill shits himself against. Leicester will probably have Vardy standing right on Cahill at all times just waiting to run the second they win the ball. He'll also not give Cahill time on the ball when playing out from the back like we do. Vardy is always harassing CB's. Couple that matchup with Mahrez running at Alosno the tortoise and this could be a really tough game.
-
Why all of us fans can see this but the club can't is the most annoying thing. We could make a really good run at the CL and very realistically finish 2nd in the PL with a couple of really good signings. They're content with mediocrity though.
