Blistering opening 10 minutes in which Havertz could’ve had a hat trick and then we lost all energy and allowed them to press us and rush us into mistake after mistake and let Renato Sanches single handedly boss the midfield. Alonso is clearly being targeted and you can see Thiago getting pissed off at him for having to bail him out like 3 times. Sanches is one hell of a player, btw. I wanted us to get him last summer and would love him still. He’s awesome on the ball and calm as hell.

If Roman is indeed heavily sanctioned I hope our club hierarchy are aggressively pursuing player that will be free agents. Lots and lots of top players that could improve us without having to spend a penny on transfer fees. Should take a page out of some of the other top European clubs who do so.

If by some miracle we’re able to move on from him this summer we need to take a page out of Liverpool’s book in the search for a new striker. We need to stop shopping at the very highest price bracket and get creative. Scout around at medium sized or smaller clubs and find try to find the über talent that we can develop into a star. Mané, Salah, Jota, Diaz. All sub-£50m and developed into £100m caliber players eventually. There’s gotta be more of these sorts of players in Spain or Portugal or Germany. Dudes that are at midtable clubs but are ready for a step up. Either that or just get rid of Pulisic and Werner and sign some super creative AM’s and go the City striker-less route. We already have a system where we dominate 70% of the ball. So get tricky player who can actually do something with it.

You can really see it especially in his face. He had the chiseled jaw line and thin looking face. His torso was also lean looking. Now he looks like he packed on quite a few pounds.

I was so hopeful when he looked like a super fit beast against the likes of Arsenal and Villa early in the season. He genuinely looked like a changed player from his previous PL stints. Highly mobile, the ball would stick when it went up to him, he was tossing CB’s around for fun (remember him humiliating Pablo Mari?) and he was scoring brilliant goals. He looked like an absolute menace like Drogba Version 2.0. These days he looks like the Man United at the very end version of Lukaku. Overweight, barely moves, terrible body language, isn’t aggressive or dangerous at all. Opposing teams look happy to play against him. Wtf happened to the early season Lukaku?

Thank goodness we built ourselves up a nice buffer between ourselves and the chasing pack early in the season. Because with Ziyech being literally our only dangerous attacker right now and our team totally unable to put together a competent attacking display we’d be nowhere near favorites for top 4. If we were right there in the thick of it with a few points less than we have I don’t think we’d make it.

Spuds, Arse, and United can put in a performance like we just saw or they can lose/drop points in embarrassing fashion. So while we are shite ourselves, these sides behind us are all woefully inconsistent. We should be safe to finish top 4 considering our remaining fixtures. But if 2 of the 4 in the chasing pack catch fire we could be made to sweat. Arse playing once a week with only the PL to focus on should be a massive advantage.

If Conte can convince Kane to stay and Levy allows him to bring in a few of his own signings they’ll be a serious problem. They desperate;y just need an upgrade in midfield and at fullback.

Kane looks back to his absolute best and he is ridiculously good. Passing, creating, the runs he makes. Meanwhile, our £100m striker has 7 touches against Crystal Palace.

City have had like 90% possession and are carving through Spuds with ease. And yet they’ve somehow conceded two school boy goals.

Compare Lukaku to Kane in terms of football ability. It’s as though they’re playing different sports.

City just crate chance after chance and send wave after wave of dangerous attack almost effortlessly. Against a Spuds team who are in desperation mode. Compare that to us who have a team full of players who can barely pass or control a football. Yes, they leave themselves vulnerable to these counter attacks but they create scoring chances at will.

That is certainly the overwhelming, primary reason our season has been destroyed though. We were the best overall team in the league with those two as our best players. Our entire playing style is dependent on the wingbacks. Going from two flying, highly effective attacking forces like RJ and Chilly to the unwatchable Sarr, the old, fading Azpi, and Alonso who’s slower than I am is like going from a Red Bull F1 car to a fucking VW Beatle. Combine that with woefully inconsistent attacker and here we are.

Unless some dumbass club makes us an offer we can’t turn down I think Lukaku will remain. Can’t see the club taking the initiative by actively seeking buyers. They’ll tell themselves “oh, when Reece James and Chilwell are both back Lukaku will start banging them in.” I can’t see us challenging City or Liverpool with a big lump of a striker. Both of them have shown that you now need actual top class FOOTBALLERS in attack. Look at that kid City have coming in now from South America. Looks like a monster in the making. Look at the forwards Liverpool have brought in over the past 2 windows. Proper footballers. Are our scouts too incompetent to identify these sorts of players? Apparently so.

Maybe Newcastle or some other club desperate for a marquee name can rescue us from Lukaku. Hell, maybe Kane pushes to leave again and we can mug Spuds off for a decent fee. I’d take anything for him at this point. Pulisic can go, too.
