Maybe it’s that the TV doesn’t pick up the noise well, but our home crowd is often so quiet. That probably doesn’t give the players much energy and that motivation like it does for other teams.

Tuchel definitely needs to shoulder huge blame for that. You can rotate the midfield and attack but NEVER play Sarr when Alonso is in the team and has RLC who has little to no defensive awareness in front of them. The only reason I’m not in panic mode at this moment is because both Arse and United can lose to anyone the rest of the way. Multiple times. But in todays evidence, so can we.

Top 4 is NOT secure because we are always capable of producing performances like that. Shit team who desperately need something and Chelsea ALWAYS obliges. Every fucking time. Tuchel rotates the side and we fall off a cliff. All it takes is two of the clown sides behind us to go on a little winning run and we could be in serious jeopardy. We lose to WH this weekend and we are in panic mode.

Thiago Silva had already been rested a couple of time in prior matches so I have no idea why he has been rotated today. We could predict as soon as the XI was announced that this defense would struggle no matter how shite Arse have been in recent games. And my God, I can’t wait until this summer when we can finally address the LB situation. We desperately need a Alonso replacement. I’d even take some boring guy who isn’t great going forward so long as they can defend. Chilly + a new LB and we have a colossal upgrade.

Our midfield is totally nonexistent and the left side of our defense is a nightmare. We’re making them look dangerous in nearly every attack. Kante is basically 1v3 or 4 every time. Kova is very much missed. Or in form Jorginho to calm things down and stand in the ball.

I think it’s pretty dangerous to assume that before this match. What seemed like a comfortable run in not long ago is actually quite tough if we’re in the position of needing to win them. Arse, United, West Ham. Everton, Leeds, and Watford all potentially in desperation mode and needing 3 points. Leicester is never an easy fixture. If let off the gas and go on a little poor run we could be in danger.

A couple of bright youngsters apart that’s a shocking Arse team. If we avoid playing down to shit opposition as we’re known to do by being lazy we should be spanking this lot. But it’s pretty easy to see us giving them a lifeline if we let our level drop. Those young Arse kids across their attack will give absolutely everything. This ugly looking defense we have need to really be on it.

Don’t like completely rotating the defense at all. Arse are going to be desperate x100 to win this after 3 straight defeats and know this match against us can be a springboard to turn things around. So we rotate Rüdiger and Thiago both out? And as good as Reece has been at CB we take away his best attribute playing there. I’m perfectly okay with rotation across the attack but we should’ve played our best possible team today, gone all out for the 3 points, and then rotated heavily against United if necessary with much less pressure. Can see this being very choppy and disjointed. 😔

Damn, I desperately want to win this one. Would absolutely cement our CL place and we can sit back and not have to concern ourselves with the others for the rest of the way. Yes, we’re likely safe now but to be completely at ease for the last 7 matches would be great. As poor as Arse and United are, we haven’t had the best record against either in recent years. It isn’t inconceivable that if we hit another rough patch of form in these next 2 matches we could be dragged back into the mud with these pretenders behind us. Win this and our players are stress and pressure free the rest of the way.

We’ve shown numerous times this season that we can comfortably compete with Liverpool when we’re on the same pitch. But when you watch them against other sides you immediately notice the biggest difference between them and ourselves is the insane crispness to their passing and movement. The speed with which they pop it around is nuts. Almost telepathic. It’s just 1 touch and bang, 1 touch bang almost every time. We’ve some players who can play this way but too many who can’t. We need to phase these players out this summer.

I dream of us signing a killer, versatile attacker in the mould of any of these Liverpool players to pair with Kai and Mase. Our scouts together with Tuchel need to be laser focused in finding the next Salah/Mané/Diaz/Jota.

You could tell how much they respected him during and after the match. They probably would indeed love to get their hands on him as would any other big club. Thankfully there’s absolutely zero to worry about. He’ll be here for his whole career. Rüdiger on the other hand… 😬 Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him choose Real Madrid.

If the figures being talked about are true (and they surely are) we were never in a million years going to be in the race for Haaland even if Roman were still here and willing to spend big. Lukaku or no Lukaku we aren’t a club that would pay any player £500k a week. There are only 3 clubs in the world who are willing to do so and those are Real Madrid, PSG, and City. And the latter 2 have literally limitless cash funneled through their clubs. Honestly, I’m not sure just how much scarier he makes City. They’re already completely dominant in the league and score more than anyone else. He should certainly help them in those games where City created chance after chance but couldn’t score and therefore dropped points I guess. That’s the only reason Liverpool we’re able to catch up. But I don’t think he’s this transformative signing like he would be if he came to Chelsea.

Assuming we manage to keep Rüdiger (and I know that’s a big assumption) we should be going hard after 2 new CB’s, not just 1. A Christensen replacement and a more “on pitch general” type who plays centrally to rotate with and eventually replace Thiago Silva long term. I liked the look of Sven Botman when we played against Lille and I know he’s moving this summer with Newcastle after him. He’s a giant who would suit the league, is only 22, and is made for that commanding central spot in a back 3.

We can kill them stone dead and put a nail in the coffin with a win here. Whilst this isn’t a “must win” or final for us I hope we treat it like one. I want to monster this lot and win by 3+ goals.

Funny what happens when inject some pace and intensity into our attacking play. Palace looked like a Championship level side in that second half because we actually looked alive.
