I just think that if there’s any chance of us getting Fofana or Skriniar we should try absolutely everything to get one of those two first and foremost. Pavard should be someone we go for if those fail or even in addition to one of them. I’d much rather sign Pavard than Kimpembe, though.
-
I think we need 2 more CB’s so we never have to see Sarr play for us again.
-
Pavard would be a solid signing I think. But not as our final CB target.
-
Hesitated WHY, though? If we hesitated and then immediately signed someone else that’s one thing. But we don’t appear to be chasing anyone else in particular. It doesn’t look like Tuchel was choosing between Koundé and some other CB and chose the other one. Because Tuchel himself has said we need at least 1 more CB. Doesn’t sound believable to me. Let’s see what Tuchel says.

We can’t give away our deadwood because they’re on huge wages and the past it players other clubs DO want like Azpi and Alonso we are refusing to let go of because we’re so incompetent that we can’t find replacements. I just saw Nizaar tweet that Batshuayi has been given an official shirt number. A player who if you dropped into a Championship side would look in over his head. And he may be playing serious minutes for us this season. That’s how dire the situation is for us. Unless a few dramatic late moves happen this coming week this will equal last summer as the worst transfer window in memory.
-
Annoying as hell that the only credible Chelsea rumors everyday now are outgoings. We don’t even appear remotely close to bringing anyone else in. Have we given up?
-
Huh? Is this a serious post? Fofana is one of the most talented young CB’s in Europe and looks incredible both in the ball and in actual defending. In my opinion he’s going to be world class within the next few years. And what better way to realize that talent than learning beside two of the best of the last 10 years in Thiago Silva and Koulibaly. And under a manager that maximized 37 year old Silva, brought Rüdiger out of the wilderness and made him world class, and made Christensen a respectable CB. I’d give Leicester £70m or whatever to get him.
-
Where the hell are Law and Ornstein, btw? The complete silence from either of them since both reported that we were close to Koundé is disconcerting. If anything transfer related was happening at Chelsea those two are clued in. That neither have said anything recently must mean that fuck all is currently close.

Pavard could be an interesting one to watch I suppose. He himself said in an interview that he primarily sees himself as a CB rather than a fullback. So I don’t think he’d have trouble slotting into a back 3. Good age, huge experience in a big team, probably wouldn’t cost a massive fee. But has there been any indication that Bayern would sell? No idea.
-
Good. No more Koundé tweets now. I can stop seeing Fabrizio tweet the exact same thing everyday. Now perhaps our club can do something to make up for the embarrassment of this saga? 😒
-
Don’t want to break up the Jorginho & Koulibaly bromance after they’ve just been reunited. 🤣
-
When’s the next Tuchel presser? Be interesting to hear what he has to say about the lack of movement. He very clearly has said himself that he wanted 3 total new CB signings and we can’t even sign a second. Wonder if he’ll be as outspoken as he was about our performance the other day.
-
As I’ve been saying, it’s looking more and more likely that we’re going to do what Chelsea have frequently done. Panic buy near the deadline for someone far below standard just because we need the numbers.
-
I just wonder how he’d look in a team without a traditional playmaker at his age. If you dropped 38 year old CR7 in the City team where they’d create 1000 chances for him I still think he’d be incredible. You drop him in our XI with Mount, Sterling, and whoever is on the other wing I think he’d struggle. None of these players are the sort that will feed him service. Likewise our CM’s.
-
I also wouldn’t be surprised if it happens at or near the deadline. We’ll get desperate in our search for a striker/winger and United will be desperate to get rid of a gigantic distraction.
-
If our interest in De Jong was indeed real (and I don’t think it is) I would bet you anything that Barca would intentionally ratfuck us again. They’d string us along until deadline day, agree a fee, and then sell him to Man United for less than any fee we agreed to pay. For whatever reason they have some sort of perverse hatred of us this summer.
-
Masterful business from Sevilla. In two straight summer transfer windows they strung us along only to eventually sell their best player to a league rival for a significantly lower fee than what we offered. And won’t even receive the money all up front from a club who could be royally fucked within the next few years. Boehly should make a point to never deal with Sevilla again. Shouldn’t even pick up the phone.
-
It just feels like we’re going into the season super undercooked at the moment. Spuds, Arse, and United haven’t made any spectacular signings or anything but they’ve all improved significantly on paper. Tuchel and many of our players have been talking about cutting the gap to the top 2 for a while now. They’re probably wondering like we are how we’re down to under 2 weeks until PL kickoff and have basically treaded water, if not taken a slight step back.
-
Pau Torres just looks bang average to me. And Badiashile looks worse than average. Torres I would take as a last resort panic buy but I’d rather not buy anyone and stick with Chalobah as a starter than blow money on Badiashile. But I hope it hasn’t reached that desperate phase yet. Let us pray that we’re still after the top guys remaining like Skriniar, Gvardiol, or Fofana.
-
I bet you anything that even our current players are wondering to themselves what’s going on and they know we haven’t strengthened nearly as much as some of our rivals. Another day where it doesn’t look like there’s any movement.
-
Think Koundé just had a minor procedure that he had even been able to play through for a while. Fofana’s injury was catastrophic and kept him out for months and months. But as I said earlier, he looks to have come back as good as he ever was. Was awesome against us post injury.
-
Getting so sick of having to send our expensive flop strikers on loan and just kicking the can down the road. Also annoying that we’re still not seeing ANY links to attacking players coming in despite rumors heating up again regarding Timo and Ziyech. That Law/Ornstein/Jacobs etc haven’t said anything about attackers makes me think we’ve got the blinders on and are ONLY focused on CB’s right now. A goal scorer is equally as important and it doesn’t appear we’re close to anyone. 😔
-
Christian Falk is totally fraudulent with anything that isn’t Bayern related. May as well ignore everything else he posts.
-
Seeing little whispers about us potentially gauging Leicester’s willingness to sell us Fofana. There’s almost no shot they do, but that would be a damn good signing. I distinctly remember our late season Leicester game where he was pretty incredible. They’d probably only listen to Harry Maguire money, but……dare I say he’s probably worth it based on his age and potential?
-
After we already took their beloved Koulibaly despite their manager and owner being desperate to keep him I don’t think there’s a chance they let Osimhen go too. Even for €100m. Not this summer anyways. But after being burned by Lukaku for that sort of mega money I don’t ever see us spending to that level on a striker again any time soon.
