  1. Hopefully Enzo is wrapped up before the City match. If he sees us put in another awful performance and get smacked by multiple goals he may have a change of heart. 😬😬😬
  2. Bet Benfica either want the vast majority of the transfer fee upfront or all of it and we are insisting on multiple payments. Pretty frustrating how this saga keeps changing every few hours. Everyday we get Argentine/Benfica sources saying it’s a done deal and then every night we get an update from Fab saying it’s not. Think tomorrow will tell us a lot. If our board meets with Benfica again and don’t come to a deal then this is off. I pray that we get it done.
  3. Wonder what the hold up is with Badiashile. Been several days now that it’s supposedly been done. Also, I wonder why an announcement hasn’t been made with Nkunku if it’s been signed and sealed for like a month.
  4. With the ball at his feet in open space Mudryk reminds me a bit of Gareth Bale when he was bothered about football years ago. Doesn’t have the end product of Bale had yet, though.
  5. We’ve just signed a very young striker in Fofana. Not sure it makes sense to buy another in the same age range. Looks pretty good, tbf. Much like Leão he looks super dangerous in open space out wide.
  6. Really makes for extremely embarrassing reading looking at the table and seeing some of the teams above us. Or seeing teams who were horrendously poor last season like Newcastle and Man United turn around their fortunes basically overnight. United in particular had a season like we are having now last year where seemingly every single player was in poor form simultaneously. Now they’re all flying simultaneously. On one hand it shows just how quickly things can change in football and we can be right back near the top next season if we’re smart. But on the other it’s just so embarrassing that we are where we are with this squad we have. On paper and assuming everyone is fit I’d still say we have the 2nd best squad in the league quality wise. At worst the 3rd best. And yet clubs like Fulham and Brentford are above us. And a Newcastle side who were relegation candidates much of last season are way above us who have maybe 1 player in their whole squad who would make our squad.
  7. I’m not even sure why Arse want him so badly, never mind us. They already have their beloved Saka on the right side and all Arse supporters are always hyping up that Martinelli is a future superstar who is on the left. So why spend £70-80m on another winger?
  8. I don’t get it. Especially as it appears he’s a pure left winger when we just spent pretty big on Sterling. We shouldn’t be looking at a wide player at all this window. our priorities should be Enzo & a RB. After Reece went down again you would’ve thought we’d race to get a backup in ASAP. But it doesn’t appear like there’s urgency to do that at all.
  9. This Mudryk dude has been whoring himself to Arse for months. He clearly really fancies going there. So why bother? Wait until summer and try to keep the Leão dream alive.
  10. Yeah, with the PL season all but finished my biggest hope for the remainder of the way is for us to just get all these key players fit and establish a style. Something we can build on for next season. I REALLY hope Fofana in particular can put his injures behind him and get a nice long run in the team for a few months. He should be one of our most important players over the next 5 years.
  11. Have him take a really weird number. Like #99 😂
  12. The Enzo move itself has been extremely surprising considering the numbers we already have in that area. That we’re also talking about an additional midfielder after signing Enzo is insane. And I do indeed see journalists saying we are. But how does that square with us offering J5 and Kante new contracts? We gonna have a squad with 10 central midfielders in it? Surely some have to go. Zakaria will go in the summer for certain, but 2 out of Gallagher, Kante, Jorginho, and RLC have to go as well for us to make room for Enzo + someone else if that’s the plan. Because remember we also have Carney who will be a great player I think as well as Casadei within the next couple of years. Plus this new Brazilian kid we just bought!
  13. Fab has tweeted essentially the exact same thing about the deal like 5 times by just rearranging the words a bit. 😂
  14. Was always an extremely slim chance we’d be able to convince Milan to sell their best player midseason. Hope we don’t give up on getting him in the summer. And I hope he declines that contract offer. He and Nkunku in the same attack would be electric. Pace, power, explosive dribbling, and most important of all they’re not scared to shoot like so many of our current players are.
  15. Just want to reiterate again that if we don’t sign Enzo this window I hope we don’t do something silly like saddle ourselves with yet another average midfielder out of desperation for any warm body that we can can get. No more Bakayoko/Drinkwater/Saul/Zakaria level players. Just wait until the summer and try our luck. I see us still being linked with Alvarez from Ajax and that would be the exact sort of guy we should avoid.
  16. Nothing from Ornstein, Law, Romano, Jacobs, Kinsella. Until they all start simultaneously tweeting that it’s done then it’s not. A record transfer fee being paid and contract being signed wouldn’t get reported first by some random Twitter dude.
  17. Wait for like….1 reliable source maybe?
  18. Enzo buzz has kinda died within the span of 2 days.
  19. Just 2 days ago when rumors of us offering J5 a new contract I was okay with it. I still am but ONLY if he’s a squad player. He highlighted again today why Enzo would be a transformational midfielder for us. Offers everything Jorginho does in terms of comfort relieving the ball but he can actually move about the pitch and break down defenses. We desperately need to upgrade his spot. Jorginho should start games only when he’s part of a 3 and has complete protection.
  20. Man, I was so excited about this signing. And out of all of the players we brought in last summer he was the one I was least worried about. Figured we’d get Thiago Silva like performances and ease of adjusting to the PL. Even when he was struggling earlier in the season I was urging patience. But he hasn’t gotten any better. Today was perhaps the most worrying sign. Thiago Silva was visibly angry and frustrated with him. Yelling at him, throwing his arms up in annoyance, and as the game wore on he straight up started not passing it to KK out of fear he’d make a mistake. And then KK himself became terrified of making a forward pass because his confidence is so poor. Just don’t understand how such an experienced, top level CB can be a total bust virtually overnight.
  21. Yeah, unless we miraculously get all the key injured players back simultaneously and they all hit form at the same time AND we make a couple of big signings I don’t see how Potter turns this around. We’re rapidly approaching the point where the players just completely down tools and give up. Perhaps if there’s a change soon we can make a lucky CL run or something.
  22. Potentially our worst season in decades coinciding with fucking Arsenal winning the league of all possible teams is some sick fucking shit. A club we have owned and clowned on for the better part of 20 years and now we’ve gone completely opposite directions within the span of 1 year.
  23. I’m going to be real, he looks a bit like a deer in headlights on the touchline. I’ve wanted to give him time and have hoped given said time he’d build a solid team. But the big worry even before he was appointed was whether he can motivate and get buy-in from a team full of superstars. And the evidence thus far is a no. Though tbf, this is exactly how we looked in the lead up to Tuchel’s sacking so this isn’t all on Potter.
  24. He’d be insane to come to us at this point, we have to be honest with ourselves. Could have his pick of clubs at the height of their power this coming summer.
  25. Managers like Poch and Luis Enrique would probably walk to London to take this job, too. But would Boehly do it? Don’t think so.
