  1. I’m not even bothered about United’s business or worried at all. At least not yet. Lisandro Martinez - tiny CB who has already looked like he’s going to be repeatedly targeted and hasn’t even played a serious team yet Malacia - a kid so who knows what he is Eriksen - good player but not spectacular Casemiro - great for Madrid when surrounded by world class players all over the pitch. Don’t think he’ll look nearly as good in a shambolic United side. Antony - if they spend £80m or more on him I’ll laugh. He has gigantic flop written all over him. Telling that no other big club except United is after him. If we did the exact business that they’re doing I’d be depressed. I wouldn’t have a single one of those players here. Now, if they go out and somehow get De Jong and a class striker in addition to all of that then they’ll have done well. But up until now their window looks poor.
  2. Kova still out, Kante out long term, now Broja out so there’s no recognized striker in the entire squad.
  3. Bamford has apparently ruled himself out for this with another injury. Raphinha gone. That’s their two best attacking players from recent seasons not playing. We should be really asserting ourselves like we did against Spuds and winning this comfortably.
  4. Wonder what happens with Kai if we sign Auba. And likewise Broja’s desire to stay. At 33, Auba will surely only move here if he’s promised a starting role and to be the main man. Otherwise, why leave Barca? If he’s going to be rotated all the time and be a squad player he may as well do that in sunny Barcelona. Of course when you’re at a huge club you expect competition for your place, but Kai was probably thinking to himself “finally, I have the chance to be the main man up front with Lukaku gone,” and now he’ll be riding the bench more often than not?
  5. If De Jong was moving I think it would’ve happened long ago. Think it’s pretty crystal clear that he’s staying. They’ll send us Auba, Memphis will go, and that’ll then allow them to sign Alonso and register Koundé. FdJ will stay put.
  6. What they need most is a highly technical, calm, classy midfielder who pulls the strings and runs the game which is what FDJ is. Like Jorgi does for us. Casemiro is a destroyer. If they get Casemiro + another midfielder then they’ll have done extremely well. If he’s their only midfield signing I think they’ll still be in trouble there.
  7. Casemiro is so massively overrated. His reputation is hugely inflated due to the club he plays for. Benefited greatly from having some of the greatest players of this generation around him. He’s mediocre technically and he’s a walking foul machine. Exactly like last summer when United fans were over the moon about Varane thinking they’ve signed the best CB in Europe, it’ll be the same here. They’re all dreaming themselves about Casemiro thinking they’re getting the best DM in the world. Like most of their recent signings I think he’ll be average. I’d be much more annoyed/worried if they got De Jong.
  8. From the club’s POV I don’t think it makes sense to let Trev go on loan even if we do sign Fofana. We’ll need all the depth we can get at the back with this strange season we’re going to have. But from Trev’s POV I can absolutely see why he should go. Tuchel prefers 33 year old Azpi and now even Reece at RCB over him I think.
  9. Seems like negotiations for all of the remaining players we’re linked with have ground to a complete standstill. Gordon, Fofana, Auba, and De Jong. Same with the outgoings. No update on Alonso, Ziyech, Barkley, Billy, Ampadu etc. Thought for sure we’d want to push at least 1 new signing through this week before the Leeds game so they could feature. Definitely thought Fofana would be a Chelsea player by now after Rodgers himself confirmed we’ve bid twice. Once that cat was out of the bag I figured we would’ve got it done ASAP.
  10. Man. I know this is the same summer where 34 year old Lewa just went for 50m, but just the thought of giving Barca 30m for 33 year old Auba is nuts.
  11. Difference here is that Leicester desperately need the cash AND the player has expressed desire to leave. Wet Spam have this deluded ambition to break into the top 6 and throw lots of money around to try to realize that ambition. At least we have a chance at signing Fofana whereas Rice is never going to happen until the final year of his contract.
  12. The media have needled us for a supposed “scattergun” approach to transfers. But United is a whole new level of complete amateurish incompetence. They’re literally just throwing silly money around at 10 targets a week basically begging someone to join them. João Felix would be a terrible fit at United. And for that kind of money he isn’t nearly worth it anyways.
  13. Think I should just accept the fact that Tuchel really wants Auba and I just have to trust his judgment. Because every red flag is evident with this deal in my eyes. If he was coming in on a free like Barca got him I’d be all for it as a punt. But to have to pay 25m after they signed him for free because he was such a dressing room cancer near the end at Arse seems like such silly business on our part. Whilst he’s a MUCH better finisher and natural striker than Kai, will he press relentlessly and run all day like Havertz did against Spuds? Or will we have the Auba from his latter days at Arse when he just kind of drifted and wasted away out wide not doing much?
  14. We want Fofana so badly and yet we’re going to allow this to run on for yet another week where he’ll play another game in which he could get injured? I realize this is a huge financial deal with a difficult “opponent” to negotiate with, but come on. We need to have our back line settled ASAP.
  15. We’ll probably have to send him out on loan again right at the deadline. Also, wtf is going on with Alonso’s move? We’ve been hearing it’s done for like 2 weeks.
  16. Every former player, pundit, most of Chelsea’s fan base, and everyone on different Chelsea forums I read have said he’s been very good. But I guess since Clockwork says he’s been bad it must be true. 🙄
  17. Sterling has been very good in these first two matches. Anyone saying otherwise doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
  18. Washed up Ronaldo will still score 15 goals for us by simply standing in the box. Pulisic and Ziyech have been useless for ages. Don’t see them making any sort of difference for United so I’m not bothered.
  19. We should be offering either Pulisic or Ziyech to them in exchange for allowing CR7 to come the other way. Before we do something stupid like offering Auba a 3 year contract as was rumored yesterday.
  20. Brighton, Leicester, Everton. We love trying to deal with the most stubborn PL clubs, huh. But that’s what happens when you target the best players at smaller clubs.
  21. Yeah, the more I watch of Gordon the more I like the look of him. The price is just outrageously inflated and I can’t get over it. He looks like the exact sort of player Klopp & Liverpool would target. Relentless, ridiculous energy, excellent on the ball, beats players in space with ease, and works super hard for the team. The difference is Liverpool would sign this type of player for like £15m from some Championship side or form Scotland or something whereas we’re bidding £45m or more. I’d rather see Gordon running himself into the ground and wreaking havoc with his pace than lazy ass CHO who doesn’t even attempt to do those things anymore.
  22. At the time he signed he was still recovering from that catastrophic injury. That was a potential career threatening leg break so if you’re offered a new contract when your career is in question I don’t blame him for signing. This isn’t a Declan Rice or Harry Kane situation where they idiotically signed 6 year deals when they were fit and getting better and better. Plus, there’s no way he expected a huge club like Chelsea to be after him so strongly when he signed.
  23. My guess is cash plus a player Rodgers can use will get it done. The rumors about our side not wanting that “world’s most expensive defender” tag on Fofana’s head I actually think is true. Having that pressure on you as a 21 year old (and especially in a position like CB where mistakes can have catastrophic consequences) could prove very detrimental. I just want to get him in ASAP. As impressive as RLC was against Spuds and as good as Reece looked at RCB, I don’t want to see that anymore. I want Reece bombing up and down the flank and a proper beast of a natural RCB behind him. Really hope we push this through before Leeds.
  24. More and more reports everyday that CR7 is still desperate to leave United. Tbh, I’d have him for one year without hesitation over giving Auba a 3 year deal or whatever he’d get. We don’t want to saddle ourselves to a 34 year old striker who has had character issues before on huge wages. If Auba bombs this season we wouldn’t be able to get rid of him. CR7 could come in, get us 12-15 PL goals, a handful of important CL goals which he’s desperate to score, and then retire to LA Galaxy next summer.
  25. £45m bid for Gordon. 😳😳😳 What’s more insane, us bidding that amount or Everton rejecting it?
