Should be in with the Tansfer roumers.... We won't be letting Mikel go, thats for sure.
-
Would like to see more ex-blues coaching the next generation of Chelsea players myself. Maka coaching the youngsters would be nice to see.
-
To play??? No way....... Would like to see him back in some sort of coaching capacity maybe.

Kalou hasn't been on form of late for sure, but he can always make something happen. The thing with Ballack for me is that we have Mikel, Essien and Lampard as our best midfield. We need to make space in our squad to allow us to build something for going forward with our ageing squad.......

He could have put that goal away near the end and still would have been a poor performance. For me he is becoming a liability. He covers a lot of ground but his contribution is minimal and he is losing the ball far too much. From the last half a dozen or so games i wouldn't have Ballack or Malouda near my starting 11, especially with Essien back.

Chelsea keen to sign permanently Inter Milan's Quaresma
EskWeston replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I don't like the midfield diamond. Never liked it when Jose did it and i don't like it now either. I Like the 3 forwards, especially if they are given the freedom to come off the line. Either that or a 4-4-2 with 2 central midfielders and 2 proper wide midfielders. -
I think it would be a mistake to give Ballack a new contract. He isn't the same player anymore and is becomming a liability, we need to freshen up our team in the summer and for me Ballack would have to be one of the ones to make way for someone younger and hungrier.

Chelsea keen to sign permanently Inter Milan's Quaresma

Yup i agree, for me that would be our strongest team by some distance. Quaresma has done well in the chances he has been given and i think deserves a run in the team, he can beat players and puts in very dangerous balls for the forwards to get on the end of. -
This will be a very tough game for us no doubt about it. But i do fancy us to score at some point which then puts massive pressure on Juve. I am fairly confident of us progressing through to the next round.

Carl Magnay has joined Northampton on a months loan. After a dissapointing spell at MK dons where Carl struggled to get a chance due to Robbie and Eddie not wanting to change a winning team Carl will once again have a go at impressing on loan. He admitted recently that the loan to MK Dons dented his confidence and he was unsure that he wanted to go out on loan again but it looks like he has taken up another challenge and i hope he does well there.

It has been said a number of times that our squad is in need of a rebuild. Hiddink recently has got it right in the sense that we have not got the balance of experience and youth right in the way that Man you do. Man you have a group of older players (Scholes, Gigges ect...) who offer experience whilst not being relied upon for every game, and a group of younger but experienced players (Ronaldo, Rooney, Berbatov ect..) and then they have places for some youngsters (Wellbeck, the Silva twins, Foster ect..) Us on the other hand are heavily reliant on our 30+ players. I think we will see the likes of Malouda, Ballack, Deco, Belletti, Ferreira and possibly a couple more. Regarding Belletti for me he just does not offer enough, if we need another defensive midfielder on the pitch i would rather we went with Mancienne or Cork, or if we need someone wide - Stoch or Kakuta. It is good to hear that if we need to spend more money to bring in the right player then the money will be there from Roman.

I think there is still a little way to go for Essien. He played the full 90 mins which was fantastic, but he is not up to full match fitness yet. As far as the game goes, it wasn't great from our point of view. We was dominated throughout most of the game and we had some good spells. Struggled to get our forwards invoved in the game, but it was still an exciting game to watch.

Rijkaard didn't want to talk about taking a job until the summer according to his agent. He was determined to take a full year out of football.
-
Same paper, same day claims that Rajkaard is going to be manager next season!!!!
-
Who cares!! As long as he goes
-
He absolutely HAS to go in the summer. A complete waste of a squad space. J.Cole, Kalou, Stoch and even Sinclair all better options than him, and probably Kakuta as well.
-
Twisted and manipulated without doubt. We have seen it countless times before. The only reason Kalou would go to Arsenal would be if we did not want to keep him on any longer.
-
Very interesting, this is a compeltely different turn of events from the current "Home-Grown" UEFA rule, which allows us to play players like Stoch as a home grown player. 6 players from the country of the club. A.Cole, JT, Lampard, J.Cole..... thats only 4 definate starters!! Mancienne and Sinclair would make 6. 6 for the "starting" 11 is a bold move!! Time for us to start fast tracking some English youngsters through. Mancienne, Sinclair, Bertrand and Cork for a start! This will certainly chuck the cat amongst the pigeons. Hopefully it will be a while until it comes into effect and we can get ourselves sorted.
-
Like i have said, for him this season coming off from the bench a dozen or so times will do him a lot of good. He is not going to start any games and it would be a little foolish to do so, to have him as an impact player for the time being is fine.

It would be great to build up the activity in this forum as it is a great little Chelsea forum that doesn't have a lot of the negatives of some of the larger forums. I know i havn't been posting as much as before but unfortunately work commitments and a baby on the way leaves me very little time now to post as much as i would like. I will certainly try to get some new members on here and to try and keep the forum as active as possible. If we all make the effort then we can have this place buzzing again i am sure.....

Yup, most players who come through our academy will not play for Chelsea. The idea is to keep them in pro football at the highest level possible. Ferreira will certainly be one player on the way out this summer as he has been very dissapointing and not even cracked the reserve level. Hopefully he will do well here and they will want to take him on.

Portuguese winger Fabio Ferreira has joined Oldham Athletic on a one-month loan deal. The 19-year-old winger is in his fourth year at Chelsea since arriving in the summer of 2005, and will be hoping to impress while at Boundary Park. A string of injuries have limited Fabio's reserve team appearances this season, with just two starts and three sub appearances. Source: Chelsea FC

Lol. You make joke but that is a real worry with our youngsters, that unless they are world class that they will get hassle. But this season Di Santo, Stoch and Mancienne now have all received lots praise and support from the fans.

It's great seeing Stoch finally making an impression in the first team. Having watched him over the last couple of years it is no suprise to see this. Unless there is injury problems i can't see Stoch starting games, which at his age isn't a bad thing. He will make many sub appearances as he already has done and grow into the first team playing against premier league opposition. I just want to see him keep impressing when he comes on which he will do because he is a very very good player.
