  1. Can't say he has done anything that would make me think he would a manager good enough for us! Certainly not something i am sitting hoping will happen. Although i do think getting past players involved in the club particulary at youth level which a lot of the clubs with big academies do is a good idea.....
  2. Yup i would agree, after yesterday i would definately start with Anelka, Droba and Kalou upfront.
  3. So this Kalouda fella? Is he, as his name suggests a cross between Kalou and Malouda? - not sure if that is a good thing or not?
  4. Do you mind!!!! I am a respectable married man! And even if i wasn't i would go anywhere near........ :censored: Errrrm, anyway - back on topic..... very silly thing to do. Can never understand how people can get so worked up like this!
  5. I think that would be the best team we could put out to be honest, other than i would play A.Cole instead on Bridge!
  6. Certainly not overly worried about the return leg, we know we can get the result we needed and we have the advantage.... Ashley Cole was doing his bit running beyond Malouda but he very rarely saw the ball. The pace of our build up was very poor. I am sure there was the aspect of having one eye on the Final on Sunday and not wanting to overdo it but there just wasn't enough...
  7. I would say yes, only because if you look at the quality of Alves compared to Ferreira and Belletti then Alves in on another level and that is what we need to be looking for in our team.
  8. Never heard of him and i have no idea what sort of midfielder he is. I would think (and hope) that if we are looking at him he can only be the creative type of midfielder that we crave....
  9. The result is a good one but the game was not! Olympiakos have an excellant record at home in the CL this season and it was clear why, they know how to snuff a game out. We lacked the personel to open the game up, slow approaches and not enough thrust in the team. We came alive somewhat with the inclusion of Anelka and Kalou and showed up exactly what the problem was, playing cole AND Malouda just doesn't give us the attacking impetus we need. Anelka and Kalou are always happy to run at the defenders and commit them and open up gaps for other players. For me this just highlighted what i have been saying for a long time now that our squad and team balance is not right, we need one of the midfield 3 to be creative and inventive and we need our wingers to be more direct and inventive.
  10. No big shock there, ITV are a bunch of c**ts. I hate their game coverage!!! Well on paper the game tonight is an easier tie, and with the benefit of a second leg at home. IF (and thats a big if) he does rest JT and Lamps it's not really a gamble because of the players who would play insted.
  11. I can see the logic of resting them! Allow them to come back properly and not too rushed and also the game Sunday is the more important of the 2 games comming up and if they can only play in one then that is the one they should play in. It's not as if we don't have the cover, Alex and Essien are not bad replacements!!!
  12. Joe Cole does work as a very good winger and has done now for a lot of years for Chelsea and England. Although he is not what i would class as a typical winger. I would think and ideal position for Joe would be in the middle behind the strikers pulling the strings...
  13. Lol, that is certainly how it comes across.... I am sure we would not allow ourselves to get caught with our pants down after all the crap that has happened in the past....
  14. I think the only time he talked about wanting to go to Man you was when he was paraded infront of the cameras with a Man you shirt! He could exactly turn round and say then that it was wrong ect...
  15. Yup, was a monster thread. The case dragged on forever though. Man you collaborated with Lyn to f**k us over. But someone at our club didn't do their job right and get some sort of agreement tied down, if i remember rightly that person got the boot! Luckily for us, Lyn were so f**king dodgy that they forged Mikel's contract and we had a opening again....
  16. Was only using the term middle class very losely But also you can't give money out to people for doing what they should be doing anyway! Thank you for not being a horrible little scrote heres 20 grand
  17. Which is exactly the point. Too many people not bothering to work because they don't HAVE to. The logic is stupid. Most people work on the logic that no work = no money, now too many people look at it and say, why should i work?
  18. It is tough to pick between Essien, Lampard and Ballack, i just feel Ballack and Lampard have that bit more quality about them, and are certainly more likely to get goals. Kalou is a lot different to J.Cole in style. For me a winger should be more like Kalou, direct and willing to take the man on, like what we had with Duff and Robben. Joe is quality but you don't always get the same speed of attack with him..
  19. It always looked like we could get the money back. For whatever reason we was completely f**ked over by Lyn. The bottom line though is that every effort we made was completely worth it because we have one classy player.
  20. The PL is going to be the REAL difficult one for us to win. But going into the run in with a fully fit squad all eager to play and to impress when they do play we have an excellant shot at the 3 cups, we are a win over tottenham from winning the CC, the FA Cup draws are looking very helpful, and we have a cracking shot of the CL. I don't think we have any chance of the quad. Would take something of a miracle. The fact we are still talking about it though is a huge deal....
  21. Absolutely, he is a class act. But he is certainly not the finished article. He can be very very good if he wants to be, with hard work...
  22. No Champions League game is a pushover and certainly not any of the knockout games. We certainly won't go there thinking it will be an easy ride, but it is certainly better than playing the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and Lyon like the other English teams are...
  23. Lol, not very ioften he would get in that position i would have though Would be great to see him do it again...
  24. I agree, he was a class player but chucked it all away, he is now seemingly getting himself sorted out and showing again how good he really is.
  25. Drogba was a VERY late developer too. The club have been talking a lot recently about keeping players on longer (unless of course it is obvious they are NEVER going to improve) and that they are reserving final judgement now till 21/22 . Which is the right thing to do to make sure that the young players get the right development.
