If we are talking about where would be the best club for him to go to them Chelsea would be the best option. A top club in the World, and he would have precious little competition for a place in the starting 11...... I have no doubt that Neymar will move this summer, and i certainly hope we sign him.
-
Chelsea would not be worried about sending a player to relegated threatened club, providing they get played. Infact the experience would be very good for them. Very very hard to get the right loan deal for players in the premiership, the only players at the moment who could possibly get a loan in the premiership (if they are not staying at the club) Sturridge, Bertrand, Kakuta, Van Aanholt, McEachran...... I am sure there is a very strong chance Brendan Rodgers would take a player or 2 from us on loan, which would be fantastic for us and for the players who end up going. Kakuta could benefit from a loan in the premiership with Brenadan, as could Josh or PVA.
-
David Villa would be a pointless signing for us, i cannot see that we would be interested in him at all....
-
Well the first question is would we feel Sunderland the best place to send a youngster? Secondly it is very hard to get a player on loan in the premiership and it doesn't always work for the best, look at Kakuta (Fulham), Sinclair (Wigan), Di Santo (Blackbun) ect... we need to send our players where they will get playing time first. But there will most certainly be a lot of Chelsea players out on loan this season.....

Can understand the reasons for cancelling the game, it was always a little strange having a game in Holland 5 days after pre season training starts. Although the way it has been done is very very poor with still not notification for the club especially as the tickets went on sale today, if something was being discussed over the weekend then they should have halted ticket sales until they knew 100% what was happening.
-
Well it certainly would have a been a lot better decision to let them go had we actually replaced them, the time was right to move them on, we just didn't follow it through with replacing them

Official - RDM and Steve Holland appointed assistant coaches
EskWeston replied to ruggedknot's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Have no problem with AVB bringing in his own staff, i think it is a positive thing he is being allowed to bring his staff in..... Shame for Clem but these things happen. -
well the same argument could have been made when grant was made cfc manager "well he must be a good manager if chelsea appointed him" that has clearly been proved to not be the case. in my eyes if chelsea are to appoint a director of football we should be apointing one of the best in his field as we would for a player or manager. emenalo for me would not be the right appointment as director of football..

so many games played with these transfers. santos know they will sell neymar, they are just trying to get as much for him as possible. the comment about them keeping him for 15 years is nonsense.
-
i would be totally amazed if we sold either of them this summer. bertrand is the perfect understudy to cole. and with the ammount of first team football he has played he is totally ready. sturridge it is obvious he too is ready, however a lot will depend on who stays and how avb sees him so a loan would not be out of the question.
-
Well it hasn't been officially confirmed yet but it is his assistant coach and chief scout he is bringing over apararently, would not suprise me wanting his number 2 and someone to do the job he used to do for us, he would want someone he feels could do the job to a similar degree he did.
-
Why not let him develop here, in 2 years time here he will be used to the Premier League and be an even better player than waiting 2 more years in Brazil
-
More and more these days club pay as high a transfer for for potential as they do for the finished article, mostly because at a younger age you get more years out of a player. This is why we are seeing so much money mentioned for these young players. Yes you could say Neymar is young and relitively unproven, but the would have been said when players like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Robinho and Kaka left brazil for Europe....... Also Brazilian clubs have realised that they can now demand more money for young Brazilians because they are so badly wanted by the English clubs. Part of the reason why we moved for Piazon so early before he had made a first team appearance and his fee can rocket. In my opinion Neymar is clearly one of the most exciting young talents out there and i would for Chelsea to sign him, even at £40m. We have been begging for a player like Neymar for too long, our alternatives are no cheaper either.

Interesting that reports in Italy are linking us with negotiations for Sanchez. Of course being in desperate need for wingers i suppose it is no suprise.

Sergio Aguero joins the other Manchester club
EskWeston replied to .Cee's topic in Transfer Archives
Well yes they are, but it is always what people are willing to pay. I would imagine most if not all will move this summer and for between £30m to £40m, overpriced yes - but it is what the current market vlaue is. And as a top club like the other clubs fighting for their signature if you want the player and want to compete at the top you have to pay the going rate. -
Come on guys this is supposed to be a thread for Lucas Piazon's move. There is a thread for Neymar's potential move and Kakuta has his own thread.

Would be a suprising move if it turns out to be true, however if it does happen then i am sure the reasons are good in his mind. There are a good few top top class younger players on the move this summer Aguero, Neymar, Pastore, Sanchez...... would be a shame if we don't get one of them -
Watched a bit of Lucas Piazon last night for the first time playing in the U17's world cup. Didn't see much of the game only about 20 mins, but what i saw of him he was playing wide left cutting when he had the ball (although he can play as a centre forward or behind the forward). He was the best of the Brazil team at that time, and had very good skill on the ball without being flashy and did quick passing and took up good positions. It is impossible to judge on such a short period of 1 game but i am looking forward to him coming over and seeing more of him. Incidently we also apparently own something like 40% of the right back playing for Brazil last night Wallace, seemed a decent player too.
-
Yes that is correct, of course we can actually sign them, but once the list is submitted (end August) our squad has to conform to these rules. Also there is a real possibility that Bertrand and sturridge could go on loan again, which would mean a squad of only 21 unless we sign some more "Homegrown" players.....
-
Time to revive this thread again as it will most certainly affect our transfer plans this summer. So here we are as things stand: 1.(HG): John Terry 2.(HG): Ashley Cole 3.(HG): Frank Lampard 4.(HG): Ross Turnbull 5.(HG): Daniel Sturridge 6.(HG): Ryan Bertrand 7.(HG): 8.(HG): 9. Petr Cech 10. Branislav Ivanovic 11. Michael Essien 12. Didier Drogba 13. Mikel 14. Florent Malouda 15. Jose Bosingwa 16. Yuri Zhirkov 17. Paulo Fereira 18. Salomon Kalou 19. Alex 20. Nicolas Anelka 21. Hilario 22. Yossi Benayoun 23. Ramires 24. David Luiz 25. Fernando Torres U21 Players: 1. Patrick Van Aanholt 2. Gael Kakuta 3. Josh McEachran 4. 5. What it means with regards to our transfer plans is that we could sign 2 "Homegrown" players without selling anyone. Or if we bring any non homegrown players in someone will have leave to make space. IF we sign Neymar and/or Lukaku then we don't need to make any changes because they would go on the U21 players list. I think it would be safe to assume that we would be letting at least a couple of our players go and would need replacing as we do not want to start the season with a light squad as we did last season..
-
Sturridge has to stay, we need English players in our squad and Sturridge is clearly a very talented young man, we need to utilise his potential and push him forward next season.....
-
Look at our FA Youth cup squad last season and you will see the way the club are going, we focus on the technical aspect of the player first for sure. And all down the levels of the club we are trying to produce the technically gifted players. PHysicality counts for nothing once they reach 19/20 and things even out and then the more technical players overtake the ones who have dominated physically. If you are only interested in results you will play a physically stronger team at youth level like a lot of clubs do (even Arsenal at the moment) but if you look at our results last season in the Youth league and the number of schoolboys we fielded it is clear we are more focused on the development of our players.
-
I think the reports of us losing interest in Lukaku are premature. Things will have been put on hold once the deal for AVB got moving and now discussions will take place for transfer targets and i would imagine next week we will start to see some movements. Lukaku is a bright young player and i think we are very interested, i would see it as a positive move for us to bring him in and have him as understudy to Torres.
-
Would certainly be an good signing. Spain rate him very very highly, and anyone has a very tough job of getting into that Barcelona side.
-
Saw more of the interview with him yesterday and the more you hear from him the more exciting a prospect it is to have him here. I think it was clear from his interview that he intended to bring some of his own staff with him and that is a good sign, the manager needs to be able to create the right environment around him to do the job to the best of his ability. It is going to interesting watching things evolve from now until the close of the transfer window.
