people to replace cesc - mikel and rambo. u r telling me that they are not good enough? we spent 2 months chasing baba, spent 21 million pounds on him, sold luis to get him. and now he is not good enough. whats worse is that he is not good enough to replace the worst player in PL currently (not an exaggeration with iva currently). i am sorry but i dont just find it hard to believe. but i think people are infact naive to think so.
-
since 2009, we had 4 managers, 1 PL, 2 FA, 1 CL, 1 EL. plus we played our best football in that period. if we can repeat that feat, i dont mind sacking jose. and with this squad, we very well might be able to. the point is not about iva and cesc's performances or that they have been horrid. the point is why is jose starting them. if anyone with eyes can see it, why cant jose see it?
-
last week he said that our performance was -1 out of a score of 0-10. that was protecting the team too? i think he says it like it is specially when it is concerning our performances.
-
i cant blame the fans one bit. i just cant. its not the loss that hurts. believe me. i honestly thought we were quite good yesterday until the 60th minute. mikel, ramires, willian, azpi, begovic, costa all had atleast a 8/10 performance in them till that time. that is 6 out 11 players that i think were very good. but what do u expect to happen when you have ivanovic letting brahimi go past him 4/5 times in a game? what are GC and zouma supposed to do? when evra had a decline, it made rio-vidic look incompetent at times. any CB in the world would struggle if one of your fullbacks has been as atrocious as iva. and was it the first time? was it a surprise? then why was he on the pitch. cesc is hopeless as a no.10 we all know that. cesc is even worse as a DLP, we all know that too. how many times have we fallen behind this season. how many times has jose taken out matic/a defender and put cesc as a DM to play from deep. has it EVER worked? why did he do the same thing today. as soon as mikel came off, we lost our solidity in mid (and yes, we had solidity until 60th minute - the first goal was a iva blunder and the 2nd goal was from a corner). jose has made selection mistakes, tactical mistakes, our play has been poor, there has been no progression. i feel the fans are totally justified in critisizing him.
-
cesc and matic had been under-performing since the last season to be fair. hazard is not just under-performing, he is non-performing. he was so so so vital for the team. infact for half a season, he literally carried the whole attack. i dont see much difference in the players' performance right now and the season end. differences: 1. hazard 2. our system. from a low block - we have shifted to a high line. our mid consisting of a certain liability has been shocking in covering for our defence. also, obviously everything will be fine. hazard is a world class player and will get back to his last season form. by then we would have dropped the league (if we have not already), and would be in a top4 dog fight. its almost arsenal-ish. team that should be fighting for the league should not be depended on one player's quality. and that is where the coach comes in.
-
ramires and mikel were 2 other positives.
-
i love jose. i still do. just like i love iva. what they have done for the club will go down in history. but i have to say i have lost all my respect for jose. this is not the way anyone should be managing a team. petty squables with the board should not be the reason you make your team suffer. i am sorry but that is not what should be happening. the CLUB comes first and foremost. nothing else even comes close to it. sorry to say this, but JOSE OUT.
-
you did not answer my question. just because he is "unhappy" with not getting his way, is he intentionally harming the club by choosing under-performing players again and again.
-
"I don't think my players deserve me to be critical of them apart from the two mistakes but obviously I'm not going to point the finger. It's a difficult opponent and a difficult place to play. The Champions League brings a different emotion to matches, to the crowd and opposing players. I think the team played well." "It was a good performance with two ridiculous mistakes. Sometimes you make those mistakes and you are not punished, we were punished. With the second goal it's a ridiculous mistake. We watched dozens of repetitions of Porto taking corners, I thought we were completely ready for that and at a moment when the game was under control and we were preparing to make a change we conceded that goal. We had another similar mistake when they hit the post. Apart from that I thought we had balance, defensively we had no problems and the defenders played well." "The basic thing in football is a defensive set play; the ball is there, you know the movements, control the spaces. The players reacted in a positive way and the team played for a positive result. Diego hit the bar, Ivanovic had a chance with an open goal and in the last minute it was a clear penalty (for a challenge on Kenedy). We reacted and we reacted well." "When the team is not winning on a regular basis it's normal you have to make changes. Games like tonight are the difficult ones to analyse and make decisions after because the result doesn't mean you played badly, the mistakes we made twice doesn't mean the team defended badly. When it's a disaster it's easier to make decisions. We have to find balance. We now have two home games in the Premier League and we need to try to get good results. Good feelings, happiness, self-esteem, the players need those to play and when luck goes against you it's difficult to have those feelings." oh my god... he has lost it. absolutely lost it.
-
he must miss being a stoke player.
-
so what you are saying is that since jose did not get exactly what he wanted, he is intentionally harming the club.
-
stability is a good concept. but i dont want stability to be the primary concern. in a long term plan, things should have been falling into place now. but on the contrary, nothing seems to be "stable". lastly, give me one decent reason for ivanovic's and cesc's continued inclusion in the team despite them underperforming for 10 games now. iva has single handedly cost us swansea, city, palace, everton and now porto. any manager with the club's best intention at heart would have dropped him some time ago.
-
verratti is another quality player. i dont know why u keep adding a 100mil pound pogba/50mil pound verrati. if we got any of those 2, cesc will be out of this team so quick that his head would spin. i am saying it too. our system does not suit him. he is a liability. and hence he should not be playing. what have i been saying for the last 2 pages or so? yes, that is how its supposed to work, but what is cesc's role in this. "great passer wiht a great vision". how can someone be a great passer with a vision when he cant even put in thru balls. again, thats the point. we already have a player in hazard for whom players have to cover. you cant have another one. and u definitely cant have a CM in a 2 man pivot who needs protection. damn, that is totally against the concept of a 2 man mid. we wont be changing the way we play, hence the best solution is to DROP HIM.
-
schadenfreude

anyways, our "attacks" after mikel came off was more than clear an indication of how important it is to have a ball winner. dont get me wrong, if we had someone like lamps/bison/ballack in place of cesc, and then made the sub of mikel out, hazard in, it would have seemed well. putting cesc in the mid was always going to result in mid getting over run.
-
wait, a minute. so how exactly do u assess cesc? what qualities do i assess him on? i mean seriously i would want an answer cos i dont have one. a top player? please. he is one of the most over-hyped players. tell me his qualities to be regarded as a TOP player. a top player does not have other players shielding him, specially when the top player is a CM, a 28 year old CM who is supposed to be in the prime of his career. how are u even comparing it to a situation of a 34 year olf CB? just goes on to show, exactly how massive a liability this guy is. so, let me get this straight, players should cover for cesc's deficiencies, team system should be changed to suit cesc, a 100mil pound player should be bought to bolster him. i have a better solution, DROP THE UNDERPERFORMING PLAYER. simple.
-
u disagree that a team needs a ball to attack? now i am just confused.
-
poor fucker. why does he run so much. look at some of your collegues and enjoy a stroll in the park.
-
so when is he getting his contract extension???
-
ordinary>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.shit
-
again, to attack them, u need to first get the ball. damn, i thought i was clear the first time itself.
-
i dont want to post these stats in the iva thread, cos it makes no sense. jose is the guy choosing him. 10 misplaced passes 10 tackles attempted 1 tackle won 0 aerial duels won 0 crosses completed.
-
cos he is in the team as a "creative player". is he is CM? what CM qualities does he have? is he defensively even adequate? can he win headers? can he give us the workrate? his USP is his "creativity" which is non-existent. so obviusly i will obsess about cesc playing a through ball. what else does he even have in his game. his set pieces are awful, his ball retention is awful. i mean seriously. again, his "through balls" in those matches are a 50 yard pass. sorry, but those passes will always have a lower conversion (in our case, no coversion rate) even if u have messi and CR in your team. lets look at it this way. if i sit down to make a list of pros and cons of cesc playing for chelsea. the list for cons would be endless. the list of pros would simply have "he is creative" and yet barely has an assist in PL from open play this season he should be as high as iva when chucking out underperforming players. lastly, i included matic and pedro - cos they are obvouisly much more quality than any replacements that we have. so the same logic must apply there too.
-
nope, one hour before WBA - for starting iva after the swansea and city debacle.
-
pep could not get him to excel, dont know how klopp will. cesc is a loser, simple as that. he has got his PL medal, now he does not give a shit about anything. the sooner we get rid of him, the better.
