moses, schurlle, kdb. because as i see we have 6 players for 3 position behind the striker (mazacar, kdb, moses, schurlle), keeping marin is a waste of a space for a youth player/homegrown player.

with the cavani fiasco over atlast, we can get back to reality. none of the so called WORLD-CLASS strikers are available now (falcao, lewa, cavani) so i would rather go with lukaku and BA or lukaku and dzeko as our main men. our main problem is yet to be addressed at all which is the midfield and with the options of essien, lamps, romeu, mikel and RAMBO, just cant see us adding another guy in the area. hence the likely in/outs - outs- ferreira, malouda, turnbull, hilario, yossi, torres, ba, marin, kakuta, bruma. in- schurlle, goalie (good 2nd choice goalie), dzeko. squad- GK - cech, X, blackman defenders- JT, luiz, cahill, iva, cole, bert, azpi, kalas. pivot- lamps, mikel, romeu, essien, rambo front 3 - MAZACAR, schurlle, kdb, moses strikers- lukaku, dzeko.

torres scored 1 goal in PL since jan when BA came in. and for me 2 goals that really mattered (benfica and everton) since that time. rest of the goals were useless pub teams in useless matches on the side of an awful performance. and torres IMPROVED... hahahah... also there was no "fight" for the place. torres and ba were rotated because we played a match every 3rd day, so despite how bad each of them performed they were granted a start every 2nd match. as for rooney sulking ALL LAST SEASON is bullshit. the point where it all started was THE REAL MADRID 2nd leg where rooney was not included in the 1st team. before that i thought rooney was having a decent season with decent enough performances.

i can see and understand why people are comparing rooney and torres. out-of-form, on a decline, poor last season, but one thing that separates these 2 is their ATTITUDE. where torres likes to be a sulking bitch, rooney is a fighter. even if he has a bad day up front, he makes it up with his workrate and defensive contribution. so seriously speaking i dont think its fair to rooney to already be comparing him to some1 like floppes. all this said i would prefer cavani over this guy, especially if the current rumors of 40m+floppes has any truth to it. that is 2 birds, 1 stone.

but the problem is if we dont sell him, we will anyways have to pay 20 mil extra for cavani (which is 4 mil for this year,considering cavani signs for 5 years) + 10 mil of his salary = 14 mil. so we just get 16 mil in losses which does not include how cavani's inclusion AND torres' exclusion would probably mean a couple of places up in PL (probably 1st), fa/carling cup and an extra round or 2 further in CL. so all in all it would not be as big a loss.

53 mil pounds... NO. i think @alex is right. the media will just eat him alive if he does not start well and then things can turn real bad. 35/40+ torres is a better deal.
