i would be happy if we come from madrid with a win or a draw. ATM win will mean they will be parking the bus which against us is not a big deal. i would take a 0-0 over a 2-1 defeat cos 0-0 will mean that ATM will have to take the initiative to go for the goal in the 2nd leg. 1-1 will be the best possible result given the circumstances (since i think we are going to be over-run today). hope the players turn up and prove me wrong.

Dude, I don't support lukaku cos he is young, I support him cos he scores goals. 30 in the last 2 PL campaigns to be exact.Also, u realuze we are talking about lukaku and not altidore or sagbo. With these many faults, I don't think a player can be plauing for a semi-pro team. Lukaku's hold up play is good. He is pivotal for evertpm's ATTACKS and not just their finishing. He brings in barkley, mirallas, naismith and coleman into the game with his hold up play. Not just that, some pf his passes and lay offs coupled with his movement show that he has a good enough footballing brain. He may not be xavi/iniesta But he is quite good. He does not win aerial duels????!!!!! What do u watch dude? Just yesterday he not only won an aerial duel against evans and jones but also headed the ball brilliantly into naismith's path who blasted his shot over. The only thing that has not improved is his firat touch so I can't defend him there. But the point is does lukaku need "defending". Here we have a proven goalscorer at the age of 20, leading a line for a CL fighting team but he is been compared with bony who is playing for a relegation threatened team. How is itthat when lukaku smashes 30 goals in 2 seasons, iit's only cos he is playing for a lower team (even though both of wba and everton that lukaku played in will finish above swansea that bony plays for), and yet it does seem to be a point for bony who is a. Decent striker who is maybe as good as lukaku but definitely not better. The point of all this, we don't need bony. We don't need to spend 20mil on a 25 year old striker who has reached his ceiling specially when we have soneone like lukaku

So we don't want to keep lukaku (20years old) but bony is fine. 13 goals each in the league while lukaku has 4 appearances less. Lukaku definitely has a higher ceiling and potential. Has time on his side. And even now is better or atleast as good as bony. But still we should sell lukaku and buy bony. Simply :lol:

but these defeats were bound to happen sometime or another. we could have won wba and whu EASILY had we had a decent striker. we should have had the everton (a) game sealed, done and dusted but we lost. against villa we had many half chances, only to be screwed over by foy. against sundeland, BA should have scored, or even etoo should ave scored. against palace, we were toothless and one such performances is forgivable. jose mourinho, even after beating city at etihad, put our title chances down cos he knew that the lack of a 20+ goals scoring striker would hurt us sooner rather than later. it might be disappointing, but we are still in CL semis. but the aura around here is unbelievably negative.

weird seeing so many people crying and moaning... when before the start of the season, their expectations have already been met. if anything, we can simply better it in the CL. reality check.

after going through the last few pages, the match thread and general threads, i am not at all suprised that people call us chelsea fans "plastics" or "glory hunters". we are STILL in the title race, we are very much in the running for CL but we want our manager to be sacked, half the team to be sold, someone wrote that we just are not good enough yada yada yada.... how many of us even expected to be in the semis of CL this season. how many of us expected to win the PL? the sunderland game, was a poor result. but it was no different from the PSG game. we had some long shots saved/hit the posts, we did not create many straight forward oppurtunities but the difference was that we won that game and we lost this one. but the way people doubt this team is silly and shameful. the worst are the people who bring in the mata/kdb argument after every defeat. why not after a win? this season was always going to be tough. yet, we can walk away with the biggest trophy of them all. THE CHAMPIONS FUCKING LEAGUE. someone reading this forum would think we were fucking man united, 7th, out of every competition and almost out of european contention.

The faults in attack is that our strikers suck. Nothing else. We scored a lot of goals last season and where did it get us? Out of CL group stages!!!! Fighting for 4th spot. We are not a defence minded team. There is a difference in being defence minded and being defensively solid. By the way last season we scored 75 goals and we have alreadt scored 67 this year. Don't get what the problem is.

So people are wrong in saying that the chance that fell to ba would have been scored by aguero, negredo, rvp, rooney, sturridge, suarez, falcao, cavani, costa, mandzukic, etc etc etc....At 1-1 we had pretty of half chances. None of them converted. Look at what converting those half chances has done to pool. It changes the whole complexion of the game. As for mata, he had his chances this season and simply could not fit in.

we showed positive intentions against psg and gala. we dominated theball early on but conceded the field in the 2nd half. i want the teams to go 0-0 at HT. then the onus will be on ATM to change things around and go for the win. i wont mind a slow and subdued start to the match. just dnt nconcede in the first half. for me, that will be the most critical part.

you are not alone. just on tuesday, people thought city were "out o the title race". LOL. this PL winner will be decided only with the ref's final whistle. nothing can be taken for granted. norwich have to put in a decent show and get a result. all the 3 teams behind them are barely a result away from throwing them in the relegation. norwich will give their all today. same goes for wba against city. palace is in wonderful form and CAN take points of one or both city and pool. city even have to go to goodison. the PL is FAR from over.
