Still can't understand why you would be comparing nani's inconsistency and maria' (supposed) inconsistency. I mean then hazard is "inconsistent" too. But atleast these are players on a similar level to be actually compared. Making a statement of "just anither nani" for someone like maria is just weird

consistency and attitude are 2 very different things. if ben arfa , gael kakuta and a 1000 other people had the right attitude, they might have been great players. as for maria, he already is one of the best players in the world right now. he has been consistently good for the past 2 seasons.so its just wrong to compare nani and maria at any level. ps - still dont think we NEED him.

never said anything about "tutoring". the idea itself is weird that cech "tutors" a CL finalist and LA liga winner. his form did decline since 2013 not 2012 but so has JTs. but he was still the best keeper in PL and one of the top 3 in the world last season. saying things like he has "nightmares handling crosses into the box" is unfair to a a true legend of this club and a true professional too.

Are people sure they are talking about cech??? Reading some of the comments on here, u would think cech made 2 mistakes per match plus he could never hold on to an air ball. I too wanted our future secure and thibaut chosen but some of the comments about cech on here are just hilarious.

Shaky? We definiyely were watching a different match. I don't think they even had a half chance against us in the 2nd half. They had 2 shots on target and a goal which was from a set piece which has been our achilees heel in the recent times. Iva was brilliant in attack and defence, azpi was solid as was the GC-JT combo as usual. The fact that courtois barely had to do anything is a testimony to that.We have been set up to play in a way where our wingers and AMs in general will be helping our defence. I rememver schurlle giving away 2 cheap fks in our own area while defending. I don't think our system is going to change for benatia and what's more, it should not change. It's a sysytem where the players play as a team rather than doing an arsenal or a pool. This was the same scenario last season. We had 6 defenders which included luiz, bertrand and kalas together barely played anything more than ake and christensen will play this season. In the 2nd half of the season, we dint play luiz for more than 2 matches as a CB (city in fa cup and wba in pl). Except for that we had 5 defenders who played half a season. Simple fact is that jose simply does not want to or like to chop and change his defences. Its not his way. Zouma/iva are very good backups to JT-GC, we don't need a 30mil back up for them. And they might not but good individual defenders as benatia but as a pair, they are brilliant and that is what matters. Dont see any reason why they should be changed.

It dint??? Barelt troubled. We have iva and one of the brightest talents in zouma as our back ups. We have kalas and omerou on loan and yet we should be spending 30mil on a player who would barely make us any better than we already are. He is not HG, and we are already 1 non HG player more than the allowed limit. Buying him would mean selling /loaning 2 players. Pray tell me who those will be??? Like I said, don't want him, don't need him.

Our FL thread is much much much worse. After we let go off lamps, he goes for a 6 month LOAN!!!! and people literally lost their minds. Some even were idiotic enough to call hin traitor. On the other hand cesc was an ex arsenal captain who will be playing week in week out for us, such reactions are kinda expected.

ATM probably need to get a squad midfielder while selling their 2 out of 6 fullbacks. They have siquera, insaldi and insua as their LBs, juanfran, gamez and silvio as their RBs. But their CM/DM options are only gabi, tiago, suarez and saul while their AM options are koke, greizmann, turan, garcia and rodriguez. That's just 9 players for 5 spots specially since they have just 2 strikers (Mario and gimenez). They probably need to get some cover for mid.

What a complete performance. We needed to up our performance in the first half after goong down a goal. We did it brilliantly. In the second half we needed to close out the game and we did that brilliantly too. We were barely troubled in defence. Set the pace of the match thruout the match. Fabregas, iva, schurrle and matic we're just awesome. Thibaut- I thought he could have done better for the goal. Seemed to be taken by suprise by the shot. Nonetheless, a solid performance. Iva- and then people were cribbing that he was started. A goal, an assist and an awesomr performance was his answer. Gc-JT - solid as ever. Barely let anything be played behind them. Dealt with any aerial threat with aplomb. The high line barely seens to faze them. Azpi- at 1-0 there was a point where he put his head on the ball near the box. Was critical that we don't go 2-0 down. Linked up well with hazard too. Matic- a very makelele performance. A very matic-esque performance. Ran the game. Set the pace. Was just perfect. Cesc- what can I say. I hate this guy and he is making me fall in lovr with him. That backheel to iva, thatvolleyed thru ball yo schurrle. I mean who puts a volleyed thru ball. 2 assists in a match whilr oscar had 2 in the whole year for us. This guy was my MOTM and the performance was as near perfect as u can get. schurrle- this guy is just so bloody lovable. Ran behind the defence at every situation possible. There was an air ball from azpi (I think) where he made a diagonal run. No suprise he is almost always on the score sheet when he starts. Keep it shirley. Oscar- brilliant workrate but nothing special. His position might be in jeapordy when rambo comes back as cesc can definitely play the no.10. Hazard- good gane. A couple of brilliant runs like the one to costa goal. Needs to be more decisive around the box and take a few shots too Costa- a DD-esque performance. Got a goal, held the ball, was a pain in the ass all night for defenders, should have had a pen instead got a yellow for simulation. Just the guy we need and want. Subs- Willian - we were in cruise control mode by the time he cane in. Barely got a touch and got it nore in our half than theirs. Mikel- perfect guy to close the gane and kill any tempo. DD- he might not be as pacy or as great a player as he was in 2007-10 but he showed he has still got it. Won about half the aerial balls with an EASE that only he can do. Almost had a DD moment where a nothing ball from courtois almost turned into the goal. He will be fine as our second striker here.
