Hopefully Solanke gets some minutes, i rate the kid highly.

Reminds me of a young Jermain Defoe. Promising player.
-
His level is at a mid table team like Stoke, simple as that really. Ive been watching him since he was a youngster at Palace, time and time again his end product lets him down. He's a good player but not really cut out for a team like Chelsea.
-
“No, no, this is a joke. This is a joke. There will only be one team who can do that - the Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ team of 2003,” he told Sky Sports when asked if Chelsea can emulate his former club. "I was part of it a little bit at the end and it was a different class team. "I don't think we are there yet, but we're building up a young, talented, solid team and hopefully we can get into the final part of the season with options for winning everything." Not really that bad tbh.

He was a bit rusty, his 1-2s never really worked out but i could see some very good signs. Technically he's very good, he can hold up the ball very well but also dribble past his man with ease. His pace is also devastating, i have a good feeling about him. If Costa is injured for the united game obviously it'll be a massive blow, but i trust Remy and If we get it right we could be devastating on the counter.

His linkup play with Oscar and Hazard is incredible, reminds me so much of the 'Mazacar' trio (cringe).
-
First half dreadful, but in the second he improved, that sliding tackle late on in the game was fantastic.
-
Relatively comfortable apart from the opening and last 10 minutes. I'm just happy we got the three points.
-
Reckless from Azpi, red for sure. Oscar and Matic playing well, Hazard needs to get involved, and it has to be said, Cahill was awful in that half.
-
Costa not on the Chelsea coach.
-
Jose loved Lampard, and honestly at that time Frank was unbelievable for us. Jose might have moved either Gerrard or Lampard in the Gudjohnson role (n10) though. No way he was selling Lampard.
-
4-3-3, we wouldn't have signed Essien. Makele Gerrard - Lamapard
-
You serious? talking out your ass.
-
I always maintain that in a 4-3-3 Lampard and Gerrard could have worked well, don't forget Jose wanted to buy Gerrard to play alongside Frank for Chelsea. But England could have also lined up like this: Scholes Carrick/Hargreaves - Gerrard/Lampard
-
I agree, for so many years our previous manager's would try and play Gerrard and Lampard together in the 4-4-2 formation while completely forgetting about Scholes. How many time did Sven play him out of position on the left? what a disgrace. In their prime both Lampard and Gerrard were clearly boxtobox MFs, Scholes was the only true world class playmaker we had... we were so behind the time with our tactics back then it's laughable. My team - 4-3-3 Neville - Terry/King - Ferdinand/Campbell - A.Cole Scholes Gerrard Lampard Beckham Owen/Rooney J.Cole/Walcott

IMO Sterling isn't all that intelligent and i've been watching the kid for years now. He's improved his final pass tremendously but it still isn't all that great, of course he can make the odd pass but majority of the time he makes the wrong choice or simply doesn't see the pass. Again, i like the kid and think he's one of the best young players in Europe so i'm not bashing him whatsoever.

The comparisons are getting boring, i'm just happy we have Cesc, what a fucking player.
-
Nke loves those yotube videos.. lol
-
Cahill. lol
-
Man, Nike sure loves Thiago for about a year he's been banging on about him not stop... He reminds me of one of those youtube hipster fans, you know, the type of person who acts like they've watched every single game of that player but in reality have only watch 1-2 YT compilations.
-
Oh i see, thats the great thing about Cesc, he's so versatile in the midfield area. You know he can control the tempo while playing deep but could also just as easily be our creative spark, kind of a rarity to see a player so good in those two roles. I know Scholes used to play behind the striker in his younger years but he was really a box to box player. Xavi and Pirlo always played deeper and Modric had games where he would play as a number 10 for Spurs but he had far more impact playing deeper thats why 'arry bought VDV. No doubt he's way more productive as a number 10, but you know right now i'm really excited about the potential of the Oscar, Cesc and Matic trio.

Great post but the point in bold is something i disagree with. It's a big plus to have a player with his vision that can distribute the ball to the Ams while their on the half turn. So many times last season our pivot players (Lampard/Luiz/Ramires/Matic) struggled to get it into them meaning they had to drop deep to touch the ball. Again great post but i'm not so sure he's wasted in the pivot, he may be more productive further up the pitch but in the pivot he keeps us ticking and is the 'brains' in midfield so to speak.
-
Am i the only one who thought he looked very strong (physically) against Arsenal? He was fucking outmuscling the arsenal players, he was spot on with his tackling and the way he was able to shield the ball with ease, he looked fast, strong and sharp.
-
He's the complete defensive midfielder IMO, defensively great, covers the ground well, able to beat players with ease and has an eye for a pass. The first few games of the season he wasn't at his best (although Cesc has admitted to pressing too much instead of holding his position, that made Matic more vulnerable in the middle), but these last two games he's been an absolute monster.
-
IMO Hazard is without a doubt our most talented/best player.
