  1. Second half has been outstanding, only reason it stayed close was their keeper.
  2. Torres wouldn't have even been in the position to miss them.
  3. In fairness to him, he has done very well to keep up such a level at this point when you see how badly Rooney (who also came through at 16 about a month before) declined.
  4. Can anyone answer this one without cheating. Which current PL player scored the last time Leeds beat us?
  5. That reminds me, last year Hilario was getting the blame
  6. I think everything changed with that in game tweak to Krasnodar. As good as it was to keep a clean sheet Vs Sevilla and United our attacking display in both games were horrendous, and it was the same for the first hour in Russia, our XG metrics in those two games and hour in Russia were Arsenal under Arteta level. There were concerns at the time we could only either defend or attack well in any given game. That in game change to 4-3-3 turned an unconvincing 1-0 to a cruising 4-0 and we haven't looked back since.
  7. There's been unbelievable improvement in recent weeks but i'm still cautious about totally declaring at this point, i thought he cracked the inconsistency's just before lockdown. The base style of play has by inlarge been great (bar the restart period) it's the in game tweeks and subs where i feel there was/is room for improvement.
  8. If Lampard can become half as good a tactican as he is a squad builder then wow.
  9. I was thinking more in terms of squad player roles.
  10. Two and a bit months ago you'd have reacted the exact same way about Rudi and Zouma!
  11. Spurs had one of the best backups in the league last season, why on earth did they chuck him to the dogs for a washed up Hart? When they signed the latter I assumed it was the customary get a HG third choice type move.
  12. Quietly good game against Sevilla in what his first with Mendy behind him. Given Zouma and Rudiger's vast improvements since Eduoard's introduction AC also deserves a fair shot to see if he can similarly grow with the stability we now have.
  13. If we're in a title race new year combined with a favorable RO16 draw in the CL i think that alone will be enough to sway him even with erratic minutes. He's played in England for nearly 9 years but hasn't had a proper crack at the big two yet.
  14. I'm a big fan of the XG metric but how on earth did they make out 1.3 for the other night? I know they had a lot of shots but most were quite speculative and I can't remember ever fearing one was going to go in.
  15. I've got a feeling Arsenal might get a result. Given Spurs' form Arteta will be able to park the Boeing 747 without any shame and we all know how much Mou sides struggle against packed defenses. Plus there's every chance this will be Willian's 1 in 10 if you know what I mean.
  16. Should be doable, the Liverpool keeper who played vs Ajax played for the U23's a few days prior.
  17. The most criminal thing about the whole Brexit farce is the referendum passed through without the need for a big majority. 52% is simply not a big enough majority for such a life changing decision!
  18. The most exciting thing is we're combining it with the bigger picture, finally. Last thee titles we basically did a deal with the devil and had horrendous defenses of the trophy because we put everything into winning it at all costs (especially in 2015), if/when we win it again (my personal prediction is next year) i feel we could much better sustain our position this time.
  19. Think we will have to be ruthless with this one and bench Oli, Leeds will be playing high and leaving space to exploit in behind, this games begging for Werner up top flanked by Pulisic. Giroud should 100% start a good number of games in December, but not this one.
  20. Does the registration system for UCL allow us to play some of the young boys in the last game? I'm thinking Soonsup-Bell maybe.
  21. So all this time he was at Arsenal we were looking at our next player to score 4 in a game
  22. Would be banter If Oli outscores Aubameyang this season.
  23. We couldn't have picked a more perfect season to assemble so much squad depth once again. Imagine taking on this hectic season with any other squad between 10-11 and last season!
  24. Giroud doesn't start all the time because he's streaky, it's worth remembering he scored two league goals in the Sarri season. He's a dream squad player, there's a reason we love him and Arsenal fans were frustrated by him and that's because we use him appropriately.
  25. Even in the Henry era they got kicked out by Valencia twice (John Carew winner both times no less) and went out of the (second) group stage because Deportivo done the double over them. It's not just the trophy's in Europe we have over them, it's also the drastic contrast in the way we've both competed.
