Tbh come the end of January anyone would have been an improvement. It was a 15/16 esque collapse.
-
Even under Lampard pre collapse the defense improved immeasurably. They weren't ever that big a problem, Kepa and Willy were.
-
A year to the day on from that 4-0 aswell.
-
My mistake I completely missed out this season before he was sacked. But the four season's before that he only lost one which was for PSG against Reims, never lost at home for BVB in the Bundi.
-
Klopp home league loses in the last two months - 5 Tuchel home league loses with his last three clubs - 1
-
He's 19. For example of that great Barca team under Pep that had a load of academy players in only Messi was a regular before 20 while Pedro, Puyol and Valdez didn't even make their debut until they were in their 20's.
-
Says a lot about them that when it mattered the most we rolled them over. Story of Solskjaer's time there.
-
We have a free midweek next week (before Leeds and Leti) then we have the SHU cup game which I guess he'll sit out.
-
Tuchel playing his son Mount again, shameful!
-
I know that formation causes controversy on here but I'm a big fan of it (I the appropriate player is up there) these days. As Liverpool have shown with an appropriate player playing that role it can be lethal.
-
I initially read this post on the homepage and thought you were talking about league position.
-
There's a reason teams keep having no shots on target when Mendy is between the sticks (happened under Lampard pre slump aswell). When teams are that solid defensively the keeper is always a big part of that.
-
If you're going to add the "big six" then why aren't Wolves and Leicester there aswell? Both are better than Arsenal and probably Spurs, or is that because it means a further 3 goals and 3 assists are added?
-
But given your main argument against Lampard was he didn't have the track record to look back on, surely you've on that basis got to give Tuchel until the very least the end of next season?
-
He's like those scientists trying to stay one step ahead of virus mutation's but in his case working out our next manager change in advance and getting to work. Word is he's got a plane ticket to Leipzig ready for when lockdown ends.
-
How many manager's is that now he's blackmailed?
-
Why do you want Kante shoehorned back in when Jorgi and Kova as a partnership works well? Have we learned nothing from last season?
-
If this formation is going to be a big thing for us going forward Tuchel really needs to start playing James in the hybrid role Azpi is currently in, it was his performances in that position at youth level that put in him in the position to break through in the first place.
-
Every managers first/dream choices are great, the true test of their ability in the market is their contingency plans. Klopp for example I'm certain ideally wanted Kante in 2016 but instead got Wijnaldium who has been am excellent buy.
-
I wouldn't say that at the moment but what people conveniently miss out when using Grealish as a stick to beat Mount with is when the former was Mason's age he was breaking the PL record for consecutive defeats and "starring" in one of the worst PL teams of all time.
-
Remember when he was only playing cause he was blackmailing Lampard and a 'proper' manager was going to drop him? Good times!
-
We did struggle against Barnsley and SHU press but I didn't feel that was a problem today infact our best chance (Alonso early on) came from playing out of it excellently. The reason we didn't get the points today is because we turned to jelly in the final third and Tuchel got his subs laughably wrong.
-
The first 2/3rds were fine, it was the final third that cost us the points today.
-
Out of interest why would you say United are more stable than us? They've been a spectacularly poor run basketcase of a club since Fergie has left. We offer quite good stabilty for players the old guard, Hazard, Azpi, Cahill, Kante, Willian etc.
