Maybe under Poch but if/when we finally have a modern/possesion based manager it will be a Lavia/Enzo/Caicedo three with Conor (if he's still here) used appropriately as the horses for courses option.

So this sticker was planted inside the stadium by someone who was in there due to paying those same people on the poster a kings ransom for a ticket, most probably added to their coffers with some half time beers/food and very possibly went to the megastore before/after the game to give them even more money. That'll show em!

Fair enough. Usually I'd be happy with that but in this case we really need the first trophy of this new ownership no matter how it comes or what it is.

The thing is most of our UCL squad people think we were mad to get rid of were playing for us in the first half of the 12th place season, the collapse before the world cup is as bad as anything we've seen since. We may have fuked the rebuild (for me well too young and too fast) but if we hypothetically still had the bulk of that squad i don't think we'd be doing much better, especially without TT and Rudi, the former squeezed every last bit of juice out of that squad as a collective.

Even factoring out the FFP situation it's hard to get excited about any potential signing while Pochettino is our manager, he simply isn't coaching or profiling these players even close to adequately. While it's unlikely we'll be troubling City anytime soon most of these players aren't close to as bad as they're being made to look. The fucked up thing is looking at our fixtures i can see us making the conference league (even moreso if 8th will be enough for it) which will dupe the board into Poch is making progress when in reality no sustainable step forward is happening until we get in a coach who's methods are inline with the modern game.
-
Who could have guessed it wasn't he that was the problem but playing him as an auxiliary winger?
-
Who coached a grand total of 3 players in this squad for double figure number of games.
-
Then all the more reason to stay the hell away from a manager who only focuses on here and now. Poch is a dinosaur in the present day but Mou got to that point while Poch was flavour of the month modern manager. This bunch need a micro manager who obsesses over every detail.
-
Winning mentality only works if you actually win. Nothing about Jose's career of late suggests we will win anything under him unless we stumble into the conference league (which we should win under any manager).
-
I think when "on it" he does, infact i saw an analysis video a few weeks back about how he was a major reason we were breaking City's press so easily. His issue is he blows far too hot and cold with it and often takes unnecessary gambles, ala Arsenal.

I have to be pedantic with this one. While ofcourse that goal gave us extra security the "billion pound goal" should be credited to Desailly as a draw was enough.
-
Can somewhat forgive the first half as despite how poor we were we had a threat on the break but that second half was unforgivable. With how frail that United team are we should have smelt blood at half time but instead surrendered the inactive and turned it into an attack vs defense game, I do actually look for mitigating circumstances in bad results young team and all that but can't defend that second half, pathetic.
-
Was resigned to dropped points at half time, just didn't think we had the experience and maturity at this stage of development to hold on with ten men for an entire half, delighted to be wrong. Huge result that will be a massive mental boost to these players.
-
It's literally set up for us to win, but bar last season that's been the case when we've played United for aslong as I can remember and we still find a way to fumble it despite dominating the general play. Goodison next week with the way Dyche has Everton playing will be stupidly tough so hopefully we can get the job done here.

I wish I bookmarked the bizarre meltdowns when Poch rightly decided against signing him permanently.
-
I don't know if this means anything but he's put on his Instagram story two posters with his picture, Stamford Bridge in the background and the kick off times for tomorrow's game in both Brazil and England.
-
Either get Eze or just leave it, no one else linked is worth it.
-
If it is possible to get him around that price and still no one has bit then the red flag is even bigger in my eyes.
-
He didn't play the first 3 games but came off the bench for the 4th and clearly impressed as he then played the full 90 every match for the rest of his loan.
-
I think the new signing is going to be largely underwhelming whoever he is. Pretty clear we're merely looking for a placeholder till Christo returns who will then serve as medium/long term depth across the front line. Think some of you will need to manage expectations with this one.
-
How many loanees from us (or anywhere) got ignored at their loan club only to turn out to be top class?
-
No, but they do have a big interest in points. And if Santos is the best man to help get them said points, he plays.
