Tbf, with Martinex you could defend him as he inherit him as a boss, however he choose to play for Pep so he made his bed.
-
In their defense (cant believe i have just said that) i think they are clearly restricted by higher power on what they are allowed to ask, i mean look at the way Lee Mack has Henry tripping over himself here, no one can convince me the journos wouldn't pull similar tricks if they were permitted as much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTkejlPRay0

If we had Rafa or Carlo incharge this fixture would be a typical game to get complacent after a big game and drop points, Conte i imagine wont let that happen, not to say victory is 100% certain but if we do drop points it won't be complacency.

Yes an injury crisis would fuck us but that's the case with any club, our medical department have been brilliant for years we haven't had a serious crisis since 2010 what's the odds of that changing now?
-
The BBC have brought into the propaganda of United dominating and being unlucky, went to check the score at half time (when it was 0-0) and the headline was "Manchester United dominating in Zorya"
-
He's cursed against Arsenal tho.

With our last great team there were fears that all the top players bar JT would seek pastures new and none did. Lamps and Carvalho to follow Jose, Drogba to leave, Cole to Real and even Cech flirted with Barca a bit with quotes he made. Im not saying it definitely won't happen with Hazard but equally don't make out it definitely will.

First half was best he's played for us in either spell, he stood up while Azpi, Cahill and Alonso crumbled. He wasn't as good in the second half but his first half display kept us in the game.

Haha, home games aren't too bad, just seen we are heading to him 2nd last game again tho
-
Hopefully Costa is fit for this, Pulis will park the triple decker and his movement to stretch the defense will come in handy.
-
If DeGea or Lloris played like he did vs City a national holiday would be declared.
-
Vs Tony Pulis we will need his clever movement.
-
Why? He's restrained himself for seven games now whats to say he can't last 5 more?

That's the point tho, his methods went stale and he realised he needed to improve in Europe so he made the adjustments necessary to his style to compete with what was back then the new influx of manager's coming into the league. The same way Klopp, Conte etc are coming in with the high pressure now Wenger/Houllier first and then Jose/Rafa came in with fresh tactical ideas and surpassed the man manager boot up the player's arse manager Fergie was in the 90's. Fergie adapted his management style and accepted that there will be some ego's/fragile flowers in the modern game and that he needs to start waking up a bit tactically, he came into games from 2006 onwards with solid tactical plans for teams especially one's on par/better where-as in the 90s he was quite reliant on his philosophy and while it worked domestically it held them back in Europe, there was a reason them beating Juve in 99 was considered a shock. If Jose wants any chance of getting out of this rut, he needs to accept that the likes of Martial are not Lampard and Zannetti, he's not going to play 150 games in a row and act like he is in a war, and he needs to reinvent his tactical mindset.

If it was anyone other than us, Spurs would have probably thrown it to spite Arsenal.
-
Where have you got that from? He didn't look too happy last season and probably was keeping his options open just incase last season was a one off, you can't expect a world class keeper to commit his prime years to midtable.
-
I suspected that might have been the case, Pedro out and a CM in, maybe Oscar.
-
I really hope we draw Atletico next season in the CL if we make it again, Conte vs Simeone will be box office.
-
Just because it worked with Moses doesn't mean any Tom, Dick and Harry could. Its like saying give every manager loads of time because well look at Fergie. If Bertrand was to work in this system it would be as a LCB but playing two natural full backs in a back three would probably make us more suseptible down the middle.
-
Fergie actually went through a somewhat transition stage as a manager adapting to the modern game. Early 00s Wenger started getting the better of him, Jose smashed him for two years and some of Uniteds episodes in Europe were embarrassing, but he reinvented himself and then won 5 of 7 titles and even started producing consiestently in Europe which was his weakness.

Just struck me, Jose = manager version of Torres. One an ex great another an ex very good who almost overnight declined at the club they made their name at, but it was widely assumed it was more the club holding them back (Torres playing under Roy and with the likes of Poulsen, Jose not getting his main targets and players suposedly betraying him) so a rival snapped them up, but it changed nothing and the full extent of both declines were/are there for the world to see, but fans of there new club kept making constant excuses and blaming anyone and anything but the men themselves in the extremely unlikely hope they will get it back again almost as quick as they lost it.
-
There was the first half vs Saints were Tadic repeatedly had him on toast.
-
It's not that he gets beat it's the way he gets beat, so easy so many times. However as I've alluded to at wing back it isn't that big an issue because he is decent going forward and there's enough cover around, in a flat back four he would get regularly targeted and exposed. Also Willian is what he is, a highly talented but inconsistent winger, he wasn't even better last season than his usual self he just looked it due to how bad the rest were.
-
Bertrand doesn't offer anywhere near enough offensively for wing back.
