  1. That doesn't really make any sense considering he was dropped for two do or die CL games aswell as City away.
  2. I actually think this formation may work quite well today but hopefully we don't carry it into the Saints game if it does.
  3. Journalists from traditionally unreliable newspapers can be quite reliable in certain areas. Furthermore doing extra research it looks like he broke the Kepa story.
  4. What rank is Duncan Wright on that list we have of reliable journalists?
  5. These conspiracy theories are making my eyes bleed.
  6. It is, but we ultimately can't get the rewards if we don't gamble. We were backed into a corner, when it looked like we were going to lose him this time last year the fanbase were incandescent and wanted him to resign no matter what, fast forward 12 months they've got their wish and now we shouldn't have done it and let him go in the first place. It reminds me of the time almost everyone wanted ruthless action taken against Lampard due to his alleged behaviour towards AVB then come Christmas that year said action was reportedly being taken in the form of the club refusing him a new deal then all of a sudden it was an outrage that we would treat a club legend like that. I do wonder if the average supporter really truly know what he/she wants and yes I include myself in that.
  7. I think if we can fully hold our nerve in integrating the best academy players in the team that's how we get back challenging.
  8. It's nothing like the Sanchez situation. Hudson is on 120k while Tammy will probably end up on about 140k, given inflation that isn't actually that bad for talented young players on the up, like atall. It's feels like the club couldn't have won in Cal's situation, had they "took a hard stance" they would have been critisized for letting another potential world beater leave so easily but instead they made sure it wouldn't happen and that's apparently the wrong decision aswell.
  9. Yeah agree, VJ should be avoided. Screams another Gio Dos Santos esque player.
  10. Yeah in my mind hes out for the season and out focus fornhim should be building minutes and concidence whenever and wherever possible. Even when he does return the chances of us getting the version of the back end of last season anytime soon is next to nil.
  11. Could be wrong but if exercised i think they have no choice. Take the Morata situation for example, i very much doubt he would have agreed to rejoin Madrid just to be sold on again if he had a say in the matter. The best Boga could do (if he doesn't want to return) is either plead with us not to activate the release clause or let us sell him for a profit immediately.
  12. All I did while reading that was wince and realise that was me in 2013.
  13. The general consensus in the weeks/months leading upto it (a Chelsea/Arsenal Europa final was always on the cards as soon as we avoided eachother in the quarters) was "how's this trophyless mess Sarri going to outsmart the Europa specialist Emery?".
  14. Point is every time we go into a big game on not so great form the pre match thread is inundated with comments about how we're supposedly getting hammered, even in 13/14 when we didn't lose a single big league game the days leading up to them were full off doomsday theories.
  15. The same was said last season before Baku. That and apparently Emery's Europa record was going to overwhelm us.
  16. If we're going to play it that way, Jose's lost all his big games as Spurs managers dus far himself.
  17. Have none of you learned from our performances as underdog's in the past?
  18. Bale should be avoided at all costs. In his 30s, has injury issues and relies on pace and atletisicm to be fully effective. He's got an Essien style decline written all over him in big fluffy letters.
  19. Not always. Think of the players in Liverpool's current squad that looks like it may break the points record, did any of them (bar Alison) at the point of signing did you think that was a top player who would elevate them? There's more players around than you think, especially in team orientated systems.
  20. We definitely need a new left back. Regarding CB, I want to see how the Rudiger and Tomori partnership goes first.
  21. The only person I bother with on YouTube is Lewis. The rest either talk rubbish or look for the sensational headline.
  22. I think with the market inflation the top clubs are going to have to be a bit more proactive and scout potential themselves. Should this lad say go to Leicester or even return to Brighton and prove himself as a PL player he'd cost an obscene amount of money. If he's seen as a potentially top class player then now would be the only time to get him at a reasonable price.
  23. If the rumours about Lampard giving up on Kepa is true, would people be happy with Onana?
  24. But on the flip side, the young guys here have made the step up quite easily, and there's Dan James at United.
