  1. Arsenal haven't won the league for 14 years and were on a third year in Europa yet managed to snap up the hottest avalible property in the market last summer. Unless you're seriously implying Arsenal are a bigger attraction in the modern day? The only players we can't get are the truly elite ones which is the case if we make CL or not.
  2. As I've documented I have my doubts about Telles but it's getting to the point I'll take him so I can have peace of mind knowing we won't be signing Chilwell. Don't think I've been so against a possible signing since Rooney in 2013. With the relitevely low apparent price tag he (Telles) won't be that hard to shift if he flops.
  3. Would rather they stayed and naturally declined there. With the high octane way they play they won't last long into their 30s. Giving Klopp money to restructure his side is the last thing that should happen, Barca basically funded his defensive reinforcements.
  4. Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard had respectable numbers during 12/13 but it was pretty clear to anyone who saw them that they were finished as top level players.
  5. Id rather look at what I'm seeing as opposed to what went on before, the most "proven" manager avalible to us last summer was Mou and would you trust him to construct this project? The way Lampard is working even if he ultimately doesn't become good enough to reap the whole rewards himself he will leave a healthy team for someone who is.
  6. Point is, settling for mere top four occasionally isn't the crime it's made out to be. Even Fergie did it for a few years while he constructed his greatest ever side.
  7. Completely different, worlds different. Why Arsenal became Arsenal so to speak is they didn't adapt their expectations once Cesc, Nasri, RVP etc al matured. There's no crime in lowering expectations for a temporary period, especially when you lose your best player and are handing crucial squad places to teenagers with no previous top flight experience. To demand a title challenge under those circumstances would be moronic.
  8. Jose's win the 2015 title at all costs goal exhausted the players mentally, Conte acted like a cunt and made the working environment toxic. Completely worlds apart from what is happening now, we're trying to build something long lasting and sustainable, that isn't going to happen overnight especially if we want to build it significantly through our academy side.
  9. Any news on his injury? Huge blow if he's out for any real period of time.
  10. Was talking to a friend last night and we came to the conclusion none of the top six teams are particularly well run up top these days. City and Liverpool are where they are because of their managers (especially the latter) and Levy has ruined all his good work by letting the team stagnate. It's almost comes down to which manager has the best plan, I think even Arsenal could make a title challenging side with the right manager appointment.
  11. I don't think there's any real pattern, the 'problem' is the fact we are just a very inconsistent team right now. We will out football Ajax away, force a finished article Liverpool side to park the bus for a whole half while simultaneously losing to teams we should be burying, it's the way it is at this point. Hopefully some good signings added to the young players being a year ahead in development will see these inconsistency issues erode bit by bit but at this point we just got to ride with the punches.
  12. For me the minimum requirement was challenge for top four while showing some encouragement that the projected end product is something worth sticking by, so far it's so far so good on both counts. Although he needs to stop playing Kante week in week out, unfortunately I think Rudi is untouchable aswell.
  13. I don't think there's very much chance of losing all ten.
  14. I swear we could face Bakayoko by himself and you'd find a way to make us underdogs.
  15. Ironic thing is I'd rather we have our blips when I'm away (if we have to have one). Atleast that way I'd have a proper distraction
  16. I can take dropping two points cause of how wasteful we were in attacking situations but no way did they deserve to win. Still feels surreal they nicked this.
  17. Thought I'll spread some good news. After Arsenal I'll be abroad for a month, and our record when I'm out of England is immaculate, this season especially.
  18. Yeah but that position doesn't exist with the system we play now so it's about getting the best out of him within the system. I love him but it's no coincidence we do so much better against the shithouse sides when Barkley or Kova play in his position. I'm seriously concerned this will turn into a United/Rooney situation in the coming years.
  19. The only time he's played as a CDM was Conte's first six games and it went so well he changed the entire system.
  20. I still think we're best placed. I'm not going to overreact on defeat any more than I do on wins (i instantly poured cold water on any title talk when we won six in a row).
  21. At 0-0 I would have took my medicine and moved on, we aren't at the level yet to guarantee wins against this type of shithousery. But boy, not even Harry Hill could make that sort of late troll job up.
  22. Strange thing is we've played better today then we did at home to these guys yet at home everyone was relitevely calm but this time round losing their shit.
  23. Given recent form, the chances of them bringing their game equate about as highly as Kepa getting the winner.
  24. Sorry but Arsenal are in their worst run of form since the 70s. It would take our worst performance for decades for them to "whoop" us.
