Wouldn't be wise on this occasion, Wilder has added more tactical edges to that formation than even Conte, the underlapping CB's would have us tripping over ourselves. I usually feel the best formation to counter this Sheffield side would be a diamond (Leicester did it at BL in August and absolutely destroyed them) but that leaves a problem as our two most in form players are wingers.

It was a mix of the two, yes Conte didn't get his first choice targets but the way people try and act like he had those transfers forced on him in that second season is hilarious, I mean he's actively trying/tried to resign two of those players at Inter for God sake. Ive been saying for over a year now this Spurs squad are rated on what they were not what they are. Out of the players still there from 16/17 only Son has improved from that season's version and the one's gone were replaced by inferior players. The wide prediction this summer of them being guarenteed 3rd were beyond lazy.

Weren't we already back on a diamond at that point? I recall Drogba and Crespo became a strike partnership at the last 5 games as 433 was becoming stale and United were starting to creep up.

If a long term keeper is unattainable this summer, how about Matthew Ryan? I get VDS at Fulham esque vibes from him so it will be interesting to see how he deals with the step up. And as some have said, the bar is set so low he can only impress really.
