He went to Chelsea to win titles and be part of a real squad ; not a "3 players and 8 random blokes" gamesheet anymore like at Liverpool. From that I don't think we can reproach him with the fact he didn't expected his current numerical situation. It's like with the fee, I don't think it's about the 60m but really the mediatic harassing. Torres planned a move quite early and not many clubs in Europe could have payed a huge fee and many were struck from the list (City, Manure, Real...) This season I think Torres hasn't been that bad considering that he was at the top of a static team with no deliveries. And he really has managed to produce a dozen of good/very good performances where he was given a run, or when he had good deliveries (it's not with one lucky chance per game that he could have broken his goal drought during the winter...) Players like Drogba or Cavani are able to create chances from themselves with poor service and poor deliveries quality (clearances Drogba manages to transform into chances by example). If Cavani eventually signs I already see stupid comparisons between what the one can do and not the other. Anyway...

What positives can be implied for the next 8 premier league games?

Let's win the Champions League this year and so then not giving a flying fuck about our participation to next season's CL. -
I just watch way too much Premier League (almost 100 out of 300 games so far) .That, my training and the youth coaching duties, with university this year my life really is football lol

Yes, I agree on Cabaye who looks like Modric in his passing and tackling ability but Cabaye seems to have the decisive factor more than Modric. Hoilett is really a great player, a bit inconsistent but when he is at the top of his form he's just unbeatable. Quick with and without the ball, versatile and with incredible through balls and crosses. He can shoot with his two great feet as well
-
Because he really hasn't a brain. I can list you an insane amount of players who could have dreamed of half that has been made for the Ben Arfa "gem" for 10 years
-
When I see Ben Arfa playing, I think about Mata and I say to myself... Damn, our number 10 is reallly putting his socks off to defend on his wings. Very similar to Jeremy Menez, both are able to show incredible pieces of talent but they are inconsistent on a run of games and in a game. If there's a reason why Ben Arfa doesn't play very often is that he defends nothing. I have mates who went to St James Park recently and said to me the left back (Taylor, Jonas or Santon) is constantly asking him to help to defend. Anyway there are better options elsewhere. Everything is made for him since he's 13 and it will be a dozen years he does nothing except behaving like a kid and showing rare piece of talent. The mediatic context in France was difficult (every young player is over mediated and compared to Zidane & co) and he went to England to escape from this pressure. In my opinion we should look to a player who really wants to show his worth rather than a Hazard, Neymar, Ben Arfa kind of player who are maybe talented but so overrated and with everything done for them in their team.

Charles Hubert Itanje was sacked by Loserpool for "dancing" during the silent minute as well. -
At least we won't put £40m on Neymar or Hazard who are far from being worth this fee... But anyway I still have to be convinced by Kakuta, even if he shines with Dijon at the moment, he's a young player with many qualities but he's something between a winger or an offensive midfielder... Still has a lot to prove. If he seems to have started to confirm his potential, he has to deserve a starting role somewhere. And it won't be like with Mombaerts at the U21 World Cup in Colombia where everything was made for and around him, the system and the whole offensive animation
-
Bridcutt is having a great season as a holding midfielder according to what I did already read somewhere
-
Vincent Kompany just sent Hazard back to his studies and homework with his recent declaration. And I agree with him, he's far from ready to play in a big club

There are more and more rumors sending Nathaniel Clyne to fucking Manure... Really disgusted, and though I trust in Hutchinson, Clyne is just magnificent for Palace for 3 years... I don't really find him any weaknesses: very good defensively because he is agile and quick, a bit like Ashley Cole. Impressive on the ball, genuine crossing technique. Considering he played every minute of last season at 19, he's captain this season and is able to play both left and right back because he has two good feet. He's my favourite young english player -
Anyway I don't really know in terms of what is Adebayor far better than Steven Fletcher, except by the fact he plays in a far better team in term of playing. Maybe his first touches, or his clinical finishing, really the Togolese has many assets !
-
Torres has good games since January, I think he deserved credit for the awful support and deliveries he received during this period. Only goals lacked in many of his games for some weeks. Anyway I really wan't to look at Mario Gomez's last seasons and the struggles of his first season. I don't know if Cavani eventually signs and he has a goal duck of 10 or 15 games before scoring ; if people will give him the same amount of stick than Torres received.

According to Le Parisien Laurent Blanc's situation is monitored

But we aren't, that's the only reason why the squad lost in depth since 2006 or 2008... Overpaying youngsters with incredible high wages and fees whereas they were only 16 or 17. It's Arnesen's selfish attitude to add glory on his name with his rusty youth policy. How many players did he kick out of the club (by endless loans like Sinclair) and how many useless ones did he brought ? Money don't fall from the sky, especially when the manager is not the one who really instigates the signing list of the players he wants to the club as it was the case until AVB arrived Madrid has a sufficiently good image in the world and in Europe to cash on big names and expensive youths. Until now their system is risky because they contract endless loans to banks thanks to Perez's help. But it still works, they have no problem to splash money on the likes of Roysten Drenthe, Balboa or any expensive and overrated youngster. Because they say they won't struggle to let them go if they aren't good enough, especially because many clubs would urge on the possibility to sign a former Real Madrid man (and they're right, let's look at Mata or Soldado)

I'm not that excited by Hazard to be honest. Seing him ending at City wouldn't surprise me at all. Wouldn't do far better than Nasri

It won't be worse than Borini... A comeback in the near future would be really pleasant for Fabio -
I don't get your point, maybe I said something funny... ?

I really think there are more than decent players in the Premier League, I'm a big fan of Matthew Jarvis, there is Steven Fletcher as well... James Morrisson gained a lot of importance at WBA, Joe Allen looks like a genuine great prospect. We should have looked closer to Scott Parker or Phil Jones in my opinion. I completely agree with you about Liverpool's recruits except that I think that Adam deserves better than that, especially because he used to be given some stick recently after Lucas' injury.
-
My dream would be David Moyes. But I'm realistic, he's not suited for a job with such high pressure like at Cheslea. I would be really disappointed to see him giving the stick just months before being sacked. I think Di Matteo is a good solution at the end of the day. I had doubts, not about his playing philosphy (WBA and MK Dons played pretty well and they still do even if RDM was not THE instigator of a plying style there) but about his management skills and ability to change things under pressure. Last season at WBA gave many points to discuss: his team played well and was solid at the back, but after an awful run of games he didn't find solutions. But we eventually saw with Hodgson just after that the matter was not physically but really due to team's confidence. I keep my judging on Di Matteo first games, especially because with the little list of fixture he has he does not necessarly has to rotate team very often (even if he did between PL, Cup and CL). We don't know yet how it'd work on a complete season. I think that the players are sufficiently aware tactically to play well and don't really need someone to teach them how to kick in the ball. Di Matteo's approach seems simple for the games he had in charge, it looks like to Ancelotti's style to allow a lot of freedom to his players but with the massive differences that Di Matteo knows how the club works and that he is able to make a sentence with more than 3 english words in a row. Di Matteo does not seems tyrannic, it's often the case when the assistant (who has different relationship with the squad) replaces the manager. I think it's a good point, without falling into the paranoid approach of the Terrys, Lampards and Drogbas running the club. Plus he hasn't the idiotic and selfish Arnesen around him, I really look forward to see what kind of players he could bring. Players such like at WBA would be great, British players able to play football. To be honest even if Villas Boas' two transfer markets in charge were well leaded and pretty intelligent, I wasn't really excited by the rumours linking players such as Hulk, Falcao or Perreira to the club
-
I don't think so, he's been a massive threat in... Swiss League and in Russia. And I don't want to vehiculate a cliché but he seems a bit money driven. I think there are really better options available elsewhere, cheap also because CSKA'd ask at least 16m for him... My favourite would be Steven Fletcher as a rotation striker, he's versatile and pretty complete. Able to play as a support striker as well as a lone striker, his finishing and heading play are deavstating and he's very elegant on the ball

They brought it back from a paintball game between the reserves and the academy, the video is available on the club's youtube channel But yeah it's not very smart. Buisness matters at the end of the day. Mellis has no future at the club, Clifford has a little future depending of the evolution of the right back position and maybe the midfield one. Anyway he wouldn't be the only player to be a bit or really stupid, but it's not what really matters. Contract hasn't been terminated, it's just been mutally canceled. So I think both part saw an opportunity to stop the relationship. Bad faith people would say that it's what Mellis eventually wanted -
If there's a reason why no big clubs really went for Ba so far, it's because his current physical condition is too risky. He broke his leg when he played in belgium and since this injury, his career really relies on one bad tackle. That's why Stoke didn't concretize the move, no one could have predicted that Ba would be an instant success. West Ham didn't had many other opportunities to sign strikers as good as him so that's why they signed him with a contract with several release clausis. Otherwise he's a good striker but I think he's among the ones who has to be the main asset of their team to be good week after week, plus, after having struggled to launch his career I don't think he'd accept a 3rd striker role in a big club with resricted playing time.

It was a golden opportunity for him to kickstart his career, anyway I wish him the best and I'm pretty sure he won't struggle to find a club. It's a shame because he showed great things for several years in the reserves, but when we see that even McEachran is (logically) not playing because of the requirements & intensity ; it was clear that Mellis had no future except being loaned again and again -
I know they changed their board, the new director wants L'Equipe to be a bit like a tabloid with exclusives... It becomes less and less reliable, it's a genuine scam to buy it every day of the week except on the week ends because they talks about rubish things I'm utterly disappointed but it isn't interesting at all Just some quotes from the players, managers... and the story of the game described briefly. The ratings are not that precise, I mean they just list facts that everybody else could have seen. Without being pretentious, give me 3 or 4 hours and I do the same stuff
