I always prefer the captain to be a midfielder though, majes it easier to make the run towards the referee to calm things or talk to the ref, a midfielder is on average the closest to actions i guess. Sometmes things get bad if your captain doesn't intervene, that's why i didn't fancy Petr as captain at the time.

I made the calculations for NT AND CLUB. Btw im comparing with willian, cr and messi isbt relevant, i was juqt giving the example that they are the guys who play the most in europe and he is pretty close to that. So since 2012, NT + club Willian 10 494 mins Oscar 13 267 mins That's 2773 minutes more. Which means 924 minutes more on average per year ( /3 ). That's 10 games more of 90 minutes. Don't you think it causes fatigue for a guy who hasn't had a proper pre season for 3 years now ?

Willian 20, messi 33 and CR 35. Go count the minutes and compare the whole lot ( club + nt ), add the lack of preseason. Before WC 2014 Brazil only had friendlies, so they were taking them pretty seriously, also, they were travelling all around the world and Willian didn't go to destinations like China during the season for example because he wasn't even selected at the time. I sound so silly trying to defend the obvious, if you guys are still thinking it's a problem of ability, then sorry for you that you didn't realize how mich a difference he makes in our overall play when fit/fresh. First 6 months of last season was partially thanks to his good form, when he looked tired we weren't playing the same kind of football...
