  1. He has always played as the lowest of th3 two when Matic was here and with Drinkwater at Leicester, those were his best years. His passing has immensely improved and if all Jorginho does is "dictate the play" by being available for receiving a pass and changing the direction of play then I don't think Kante would be a dramatic downgrade in that aspect, he would surely need to learn but it's miles better than not fully using the characteristics of our best midfielder. I'm overall not so enthusiastic anymore about this whole Sarri Ball thing, Chelsea has always been about challenging, being hard to break and unpredictable to play against, none of that is there at the moment and the football is boring. Unless the board give Sarri the perfect signings for his plan and consistently, this will be a failure, not different than Boas or Scolari who had far more quality players and characters to count on. 2. We are talking flexibility here, with the amount of struggle Jorginho is having at the moment we nees to be flexible enough to replace him with Kante and c'ose the gap between midfield and defence. Sent from my INE-LX1 using Tapatalk
  3. The guy litterally has the best CDM in world football and still whines about how we don't have a replacement for Jorginho. I don't care if the system will be altered, not being flexible enough has been every sacked Chelsea manager's undoing, he almost cost us 2 points with his stubbornness and predictability yesterday. I'm all for Champagne football and title contenders in 2 years time, if Sarri is not flexible today he will never get that sort of time, this is Chelsea, not 2015 Liverpool who had been outside of Champions League spots for years bar 2 seasons hence could afford giving Klopp time. 4. That was before they calibrated lines, they put this on the telly itself and started calibrating the lines until they reached this final image where you can clearly see Kane not offside. There is no such thing as separation between a referee's and linesman's decision in a game. The referee actually makes the decision in all cases with the help of his assistants. The linesman's vision was covered by Kane, he could not see that Azpilicueta was actually playing Kane on. Do you think I'd rather trust a totally subjective Chelsea board ( or laptop for that matter ) rather than an actual decision made by refereeing specialists in an independent box based on multiple replays ( and the actual clear picture we have on our hands here ? ). We're just turning into Arsenal ( and spurs for that matter ) with these lame excuses and "we played better" narrative. Totally not Chels values. Really not interested in the weed, gas lighting and whatnot discussions, seems like we can't have an objective discussion on the internet anymore without this sort of silly comments ( even worse coming from an actual moderator ).
  5. Kane actually covers the referee's vision, so he doesn't see Azpilicueta. The spaniard is playing Kane on, they're in the same line. I have no idea where that Chelsea line is coming from, I'd rather trust this picture with many clear lines showing you that they are accurate rather than the other one.
  6. Can we please establish in which world the below situation is an offside ?
  7. OMG the whining. He was not offside ffs, the angle on the TV clearly showed it, VAR replay even draws multiple parallel lines for you to make sure they are aligned with the main midfield line. The narrative that we got robbed yesterday is absolutely pathetic. We played well for the whole 85% of the pitch and actually failed in the 15% that matters : their penalty area. This is nothing new and will keep hunting us for the whole season unless we either get a top goalscorer or find a workaround to actually play natural strikers Giroud and/or Morata and still improve the speed of our ball movement and our pressing. The latter is probably not realistic, we need to go to the market then or be average for at least 6 months.
  8. Let's not get carried, Kane was clearly onside and the Rose and Alderweireld handballs weren't really ones, players hands were in a natural and regular position. Encouraging second half , definitely a step forward in terms of competing and getting ahead of Spurs whi have at least a couple years advance on us in terms of work, still, huge system limitations without a sick goalscorer or a proper false nine. 9. Highlights two things for me as well : 1- In terms of goal-scoring chances, the game was much more balanced before we scored, so a draw was probably the right result despite what Mourinho will want you to believe. 2- Not a single Hazard pass to Morata.nor Willian, our play was so predictable and rigid, probably because of MU's low block but this is where I am expecting Hazard to think out of the box and impact the game differently than what he would do with any normal opposition.
  10. The consistency of opinions in this board ( or lack thereof ) is incredible. One month ago Alonso was hailed as the best in the world, a real threat, a real asset, now he is the most useless players in the team and we should get worried if he extends. I don't have time to go back and look for those posts but I'm pretty sure a big portion of people changed voice so easily on his matter. I don't stand in either extreme camp tbf, dude has his limitations but isn't totally useless as some would suggest, in fact, with the right cover ( hence team organization ) he can look rarely out of place, as long as we're fielding Luiz-Alonso-Barkley-Hazard in the same flank, aka 4 less than average disciplined players position, we will always be in trouble, and it can only improve by working on those specific mechanisms and triggers.
  11. The number of right backs who are equally competent defending and going forward for the top level in this world are very rare ( Kimmich, Carvajal look like the most obvious ones at this moment ). Azpi offers so much to the team that he cannot be displaced at the moment, whatever we will get will be a downgrade on him in so many aspects. It's okay if our right back isn't as strong offensively as the left one, in fact, it's necessary, Alonso will leave us exposed very often with his ( very useful ) forward runs, we need someone to have the composure of Azpilicueta in recovery on the defensive phases. If we want to sort our right side issues, we need a strong winger, which Pedro has been this year, offering so much more than Willian. If the Pedro that started the season stays healthy and keeps showing up, then our right back is far from being a must fix area.
  12. Doesn't seem to be taken seriously at all at the moment though, maybe it's some kind of smokescreen on Rodrigo. Envoyé de mon SM-A520F en utilisant Tapatalk
  13. Chiringuito ( first to announce ronaldo to Juve, big reliable Real Madrid source ) have just announced that Morata has an agreement with Real, wouldn't cost more than 80M. They don't clearly state that we are willing to sell or that Morata is Real's first target but they do say that it is a very real option for both player and club, and that latest birth of his twins is making him think of a return to Madrid. Probably a plan B for Real if everything falls apart with Rodrigo. Envoyé de mon SM-A520F en utilisant Tapatalk
  14. It was a joke. Look at the interview, he said afterwards that no the relationship was really complicated.
  15. http://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2018/08/07/5b695fd5e5fdeaf15c8b4589.html Marca exclusive info : Loaned to Chelsea for one year. They could report shit news from time to time but when they say exclusive Real Madrid info it's pretty much official.
  16. Looks pretty realistic to me Envoyé de mon SM-A520F en utilisant Tapatalk
  17. It's over, consider him gone.
  18. Don't think we can do without Azpi's work ethic and solidity in defense, be it on a 3 man defence, right back or left back, he must play, no matter what. Managers accomodate their formations to the players they have and not the other way around, I think Sarri will do so because currently, this team has too many Center backs and cannot cope without Azpi, we need him. Reckon that Hazard might be the new vice captain though, Cahill could be taking on the Christensen-Rudiger-Sarri challenge this year but I think that he will be gone by January or end of next year.
  19. Are we actually outspending City for a player ?
  20. So "Napoli" have reached the agreement with both clubs, but it's still up to "De Laurentiis"
