Both Chelsea players make mistakes which leads to Boro conceding. Omeruo screws up his clearance and Blackman lets Rossiter's shot from the half way line through his legs. Ugh!

If he's starting every match then I'd want an upgrade possibly but as a squad player he's invaluable. Plus he loves Chelsea. He won't leave unless we want him to leave, which I don't see happening.

Yeah the goals and assists numbers aren't there yet but they'll come. I don't have the stats but I could tell just by watching that hes getting into a lot of scoring positions now and in turn taking more shots. Sooner or later they'll start going in and he'll score even more than last year. Where do you guys check stats? I'd love to see the number of shots he's taken so far and compare it to last year's averages.

I rewatched parts of the match again and I found our problem was that our attackers were uncharacteristically sloppy in the first half. Costa was having trouble getting involved (but he was well marshaled by the CBs) and Hazard and Willian looked clueless in possession. If Hazard and Willian weren't so sloppy we could have had a much better performance. Yeah, we played defensive and they didn't have a lot of help but they didn't help themselves either by making it harder than it was. If the front 4 played as well as they did last year at the Etihad, I believe we could have won against 11. I think the fast start by City threw some off mentally. Even when we looked to be mounting an attack, someone would loose focus and misplace a pass. Someone would overdribble. Blaming Jose for defensive tactics is also wrong because we did the same last year but just didn't screw up so bad while attacking. Plus considering this was the most important match for City so far into the season and we still got a point is nothing to scoff at. People are complaining that we didn't attack City enough when they were down to 10 also have to realize a few things. First, we did attack them, we scored a goal too. Second, we created some more chances too and almost scored a couple more. However, even with the opponent down to 10, it would be stupid to compromise your defence. Can you imagine we try to score a second and they counter us and equalize? That would be way worse imo. There is one player I would like to single out though - Ivanovic. He fell asleep on the goal we conceded, which was obvious. However, something was wrong with him in the last 10-15 mins of the game. It was like he gave up playing RB. Our back 4 line was almost always just 3 with Ivanovic awol. He was missing for the goal but he was missing for few other City attacks too. It was so bad that at a point I was sitting there thinking did we change our shape to 3 at the back? wtf was going on, until I realize Matic was covering for him at RB while this dude is just waltzing around. He makes some individual mistakes once in a while, but this year his positioning itself has been very poor, he was never this bad at defensive awareness.

While he had a poor game, I think some are being too harsh on him. Yeah he misplaced passes but really he didn't really have a lot of options. The limited ones he did have weren't easy either. That said, in the first half especially he was the only one that was able to release pressure by running with the ball and drawing fouls, while the rest of the forwards and midfield were of no help.

Liverpool vs. Boro should be good. Might see a couple Chelsea loanees in Omeruo and Bamford.

I have no problems with him scoring yesterday. He's a city player and if he's on the pitch he has to do his job. However, I have a problem with him joining City. I want to hear a good reason for him joining City. Only one I can think of is money. And if he's upset all Chelsea fans just for some money, then I def have a problem with that. I'll never forget what he's done for Chelsea, he's our greatest ever player. But I will also never forget he broke his promise and joined a direct rival. Yeah people shouldn't go overboard about Frank, but I don't have a problem with that. I can understand that feeling too. Some had ok reactions while others had very poor ones, but we all loved Frank before yesterday, don't forget that before slagging off people for their poor reactions. The more I think about it, not only Frank upset all Chelsea fans, some more than others, he's turned them against each other too. Greatest ever Chelsea player, always will be. But not my favourite Chelsea player.

We need to buy at least one CB like Kompany or Mangala. The reason we play defensive is because our CBs need protection otherwise they are shit, while guys like Kompany have no problem being 1 on 1 and often coming out on top. We could have played more attacking if Jose wasnt forced to protect his back 4 so much. Furthermore, it seems if you pass the ball back to any of the back 4, they will either loose the ball or just launch it forward. None of them seem to have any composure and ability to bring the ball out of defence. A top top CB should be our next signing.

Was poor first half I thought, but improved in the 2nd half and gorgeous pass for Schurrle.

Said in the post-match interview that we didn't go all out for the win after the City goal because players looked mentally and physically tired. Meant they didn't have a good reaction to conceding so decided to hold what he had instead of possibly conceding another.

Yup, spot on. If Rami and Matic aren't positionally disciplined then we'll concede. I'm also a little worried about City playing two strikers, they've caused our CBs a lot of trouble in the past where one drops deep and the other runs behind which seems to really fuck with Terry and Cahill. If the CBs go with the strikers they must not get turned, however I'm pretty sure they will so again Matic must be there to cover.

Which 3 players can't defend? I count only 2 (Hazard and Cesc)

Their defence might not be good, but their attack is just amazing. Got tons of goals there. That said, what a beast of a header by Ulloa.

God I'm so nervous. We need to play better defence than we've played at any point so far this season. I love our new offensive style but we should not loose the ability to win games 1-0 when needed. Tomorrow is the day to show we can defend properly cause if we don't we won't win.
