I disagree with this, I think over one performance people take things a little too far. He still needs higher work rate, and I would much rather have Oscar on because he actually works hard. Saying Hazard can't perform because Mata isn't there is just silly, if I recall correctly he has had one of his best performances ever against Bayern and that was without Mata.
-
A poor attempt? You can't even get your facts right because Mata didn't even start this game. And he has started a PL game, it didn't go very well. You want to have a cheap shot at Mourinho just for the sake of being controversial, calm down Harry.
-
This is the only time Mata has performed this season, and he's been a participant in 2-3 other games, when he played in those games he was dreadful. Still can't get a good argument against Jose Mourinho, well done.

I was one of the ones against signing Eto'o, but I'm also one of the ones who will show him support because now he is one of our players. The guy I quoted was a Torres fanboy, for years he posted on here defending Torres making up so many excuses, then Eto'o doesn't score in 3 games and he's already making jokes about him. We need to show Eto'o support even if we are very disappointed, it's a different signing compared to Torres, Torres has shown no heart or determination, we bought him for 50 million. Eto'o runs around all the time and actually wants to do something.

This goal might give him a bit of confidence. Only goal keepers should have 0 goals after the games Mikel has played, I know it's not his priority but it's the english league with the english media with the english fans, we apply the pressure, and most of the time it's unfair. Now no one can say Mikel hasn't scored a Premier League goal, if you ask me good for him. I was really happy when he scored, it shows that he isn't as useless as some of us thought he was. One goal lets not get ahead of ourselves though, but I heard he put in a good performance and that's good to hear, Mikels problem has been consistency, if he can keep it up then I'll be happy with it. I have been mad at Mikel for years for not taking his place in the team, it's gotten to the point where I've lost all hope for him and want him out of the side, if he can prove me wrong this season then I'll be happy, and I mean that.
-
Yeah I know where is he Because this goal what Mikel scored that one goal in about 300 games has proven everything he said wrong. Jesus do some of you people even try anymore? You complain about the Mikel thread being full of hate yet here you are being childish, get over yourselves.
-
Oh really? After all your stupid support for Fernando Torres when he couldn't score a goal after 50 games you jump straight on Etos back when he can't score in 3 games? Bloody typical.

Our team back then where more counter attacking, we would play in our own half a lot, however we could also cause damage primarily to the likes of Drogba who could cause all sorts of problems for the defence just on his own and a big ball coming his way. We where a brilliant team though, I never used to watch anywhere near as much games then as I do now, never had any of that streaming stuff I just watched Match of the day or go to an actual game once a season as my home town where in the Premier League then. We used to score some great goals, players like Lampard where the key. Now it seem the board want us to go towards a different role, where we can actually play a good game of football rather than playing more direct. But for the main point I can never remember us winning a title or even finishing 2nd without having a bad patch, besides Mourinho's first season I just can't remember it, we have always had a rough patch of games where it looks all shit. As fans we need to be a bit more optimistic, we are not the team we where two seasons ago, we now have good players a highly respected coach, we shouldn't be looking down at the floor after 2 defeats.
-
And again it's another player from a different league and a different nationality. Yes the Van Ginkel debate but we aren't exactly playing Van Ginkel all the time, we aren't rushing him. I'm not sure if Chalobah is loaned or not but either way he is still one of our players, buying Capoue wouldn't do the youth any favors. The youth have worked very hard and have really impressed, what sort of impression is it if we just land Capoue. I could be wrong Capoue might of been the perfect signing, maybe it's the good kick up the arse our team needs and we should start making players compete for there positions more. But one thing for sure is we have to think more logically, this isn't a game of fifa, we don't just sign a player and he comes over and does what he did at his other club, it's a lot more complicated than that.
-
I sense a tricky game, but we can pull through.

Everyone who is doubting Mourinho can I just ask a question? Have you ever been a Chelsea supporter or watched a full season when we where title contenders? I know we haven't been up there for a while mind, so it's a large possibility there are some new fans, there is nothing wrong with that I'm just asking. Because this is what happens in those seasons, you have to get used to it. When we won the title or contended I can never remember dominating it from start to finish, except for 2005-2006, but that was one of the greatest seasons a football team ever could of had in the league. Just so you all know there are positives, not just another AVB saga, we are good enough to hurt anyone this year, last season or the season before yes you could of doubted us we didn't have any potential or any good attackers. Now we have good quality and a good established team (needs more work but we are coming along). For the new fans don't give up so easily, this happens, and come on we've only lost two games, and I don't count Old Trafford as a defeat as we got a point in what is potentially the 2nd hardest game of the season, nothing to complain about.

Had a lot of stuff to do yesterday so I couldn't reply back, just got back from college now so I can reply. I think Cahill has been a good buy, he can make the odd mistake, but has still been very consistent regardless. We paid 7 million for him and he's still going to be useful for at least another 4 years or so, whether that's back up or rotation, 7 million is a good buy. Demba Ba will depend. We need a striker like Ba, in fact he could be brilliant for us had we of had the right players. If we had a natural main striker, deep lying forward type, we could then rotate Ba when we need him. Sometimes when we take the game to the other team and attack with possession football it doesn't work, so we have to bring on the likes of Moses to add more width, then who else do you want to bring on? Ba, eitehr for the striker or a defender, depends which way the game is going, you take that risk. Demba Ba anticipates everything, he will put his life on the line to get a goal, he is one of the biggest Ariel threats in the league. Only thing is he will never score goals in possession football, he doesn't have a good enough first touch, it's not his style. Ba was a target man at Newcastle, but here we brought him in to be a poacher, because he doesn't have to work as hard. However the main problem is, we don't have a natural striker for Ba to rotate with.
-
Well take my word for it but I didn't necessarily mean Eto'o is a poacher, i was just making a point. I'm just really that lazy and I've made such large posts today I couldn't be bothered making another huge one to explain. Lewandowski is someone I've always wanted, Cavani is someone who would do well because of his anticipation and link up play, he's also a work horse, Lewandowski can be similar except he's not such a hard worker, he's a better footballer but just like Cavani he would put his life on the line to score a goal. I don't think we necessarily need a 40 millions worth striker though, that's my point. I would just bring in someone who can play the suitable deep lying forward role.
-
Don't worry about it, I'm sure we will sign Isco, Ozil and another 10 CAM's in January, that should fix the problem.
-
Jesus christ when I seen you post I expected it to be some hateful message towards Eto'o. However you are spot on, it's far too much of a coincidence, I didn't want the Eto'o transfer in the first place because I don't think he can fit into the team. We need a deep lying forward, I don't think we can play with a poacher because we don't give a poacher enough space, we seem to just all bombared up front so a poacher would be really pointless. If you seen Eto'os movement you would've noticed he had to stand on the edge of the box, that's what people have been moaning at Torres for, and that's been going on for over a season, wow what a coincidence. We aren't as direct as we used to be, we like to take the game to them and no poacher is going to come here and play well. We don't need a world class striker, we just need a good striker who can work hard and can link up with the play, also a preferable physical striker. Just like Bayern (who are known as the best team in the world currently) have Mandazukic as there first team forward.

We didn't win, but I don't really care because if we had won the game everyone would have been praising the performance to death, and if we had lost like we just did everyone wants to burn the club down to the ground. I accept the defeat, I think we will still qualify and come back stronger, this isn't the end, this can be a positive, so win or lose we are still going to succeed. EDIT: By the way whoever is posting the football feed needs to give there head a wobble.

We where great at keeping the ball this time, it really does make a big difference when Ramires isn't playing. I wish he never took Willian off, he was making the difference and he was the biggest threat out there, they had seemed to gain confidence since he went off.
-
He's playing well but at the same time having a disaster. Once again it's just not working for our strikers is it? Plays well all game and then doesn't mark his man. What I would give to have Didier back in his prime.
-
Ah for fuck sake, what's the point.
-
We shouldn't of took Willian off in my opinion, he was the only one who looked like creating something, now we have little width.
-
I haven't been that happy with this performance, we aren't creating enough chances. Can see them getting the draw now.
-
I at least thought Carragher would be a good pundit, but he's not even that, how the hell did he get the job?
