Actually, I don't recall anyone saying that Meireles is shit and not good for us, but that he is not a player we needed which was partially true. We were crying for a playmaker for quite a while, we got pumped up for Modric, and in the end we brought Raul. It was disappointing that we missed on couldn't get a true midfield maestro like Modric and it made some people overreact...

Very tough choice for me between Mata and Meireles, but Mata was just a bit better in my opinion...
