I've got to say that for all of the manager's 'tactical nous' and his penchant for shadowing Barcelona, what we're seeing unfold in front of us is utterly laughable. Fulham have no recognised central midfield players and yet we have 2 holding ones of our own. There's absolutely no pressure on their players when they have the ball, meaning they can play it around among themselves till the cows come home. At the back we have 3 players looking after one centre forward who still manages to do as he pleases when presented with chances. I'm not sure I've seen a more dire performance from a Chelsea midfield 3 in ages. The ''circulation'' is so slow that the ball gathers moss by the time fucking Bosingwa gets on the end of it courtesy Fulham having 9 behind the ball in the central zone. I really, really hope we see the drastically different second half performance we often dish out because the way we're going currently is a damning verdict on this manager and his players.
Pretty harsh. Ivanovic has the real covering job once Bale gets 1vs1 with Bosingwa, it's him who should provide support. All said and done, Cech really should have done better on this one.
With Alex and Anelka off and Cahill certain to join, we still have 2 squad places left for non HG 'senior' arrivals. Right wing (Krasic?) and an attacking midfielder maybe?
Pre-contract agreements during the last 6 months of a contract cannot take place with clubs from the same nation i.e clubs outside England can offer him preliminary terms from Jan 1 but an English club can't.
