  1. Lmao I was wondering when this would come up. No for me. I'm actually a huge fan of him, but I do think his ceiling in terms of ability isn't that high. Everton is a perfect place for him to develop, big fish in a medium sized pond so to speak.
  2. Yeah true. Cech was also lucky because Cudicini's injury gave him the neutral platform with fans to showcase his talent.
  3. It's because he's been replaced by someone who's not exactly a downgrade. It's a lot easier to replace your heroes when there's someone as good/better in ahead of them.. The team comes first, right? If he was dropped for like Turnbull then you'd see chaos
  4. Okay these girlfriend comparisons really do have to stop
  5. To be fair, Wenger said "maybe Gary Cahill in five, six or seven years can be like that at Chelsea"
  6. Eden has said a few times he wants to be at the Ballon d'Or level, if he wants that then Term is right. These awards are trivial and political, but certain players (Ronaldo, Hazard et al) have ambitions for them.
  7. It should be remembered, these awards are voted by players.. As pointed out on twitter, this shows Luiz's popularity among his fellow footballers.
  8. Yep, seem to remember a certain Samsung TV being passed around in the dug-out last season lmao.
  9. No I'm not. I'm asking him to stop getting himself in trouble and prompting this situations. Refusing to do PCs breaches FA rules and he can be punished for it, if he is then people will get back on this 'campaign' crap. Shooting himself in the foot. I love having Mourinho as our coach, there's no question of that. But getting himself in trouble by doing these things doesn't help us or him.
  10. He did grow into it though. No-one expects Zouma to be amazing from day one, but he handled himself well today. In a game where we weren't our usual selves, particularly in the first half, he did look good. As a relatively young player, this is a good performance for him against an annoying Newcastle set up
  11. "Eidur Gudjohnsen has levelled it up for Bolton against Leeds with a penalty three minutes into the second half. That's his first Trotters goal since a 2-2 second-tier play-off draw against Ipswich in 2000."
  12. I mean if it happens, I'll gladly humble myself. But ffs, it's a media campaign and we're taking the bait like fishes..
  13. Oh, people still think this could happen?
  14. Yeah but once Aguero was fit, Negredo was out. Albeit, injury played its part but he never got a look-in ahead of a fit Aguero. I don't think they'll go 4-4-2 either with Bony and Aguero holding an attacking line. City just don't see to be set up for a conventional 4-4-2. Not to mention, Bony doesn't even feature for City until Feb potentially. By then he may not even get a look in.
  15. I hope Mourinho hasn't stopped doing pressers. Because he's actually obliged to do some and so that's another punishment by the FA which again will be used by Mourinho.. I fear he may drive himself out of England. As he talked about with Hazard, if he continues to do this kind of thing. Please Mourinho, just move on from this 'campaign' shit.
  16. I think this is a call from City. They've seen the repressions this is having for NYFC with fan backlash, I bet Pellgrini wants to keep FL for next season but City are making a PR decision. As for the news itself, well I'm simply not surprised. I have to stand back a minute and applaud the City franchise, they've found a loophole in rule book and have legally exploited it. Credit to whoever thought this up. That being said, what an ugly state of affairs this is turning out to be. Lampard knows what this means for his standing with Chelsea now & frankly (excuse the pun) I don't think he's too fussed at the moment.
  17. Cosign @The Skipper's first post, not sure why the hatred of Turkish Airlines. That being said, if this new sponsor is getting us a bigger stream of revenue (which CFC is in dire need of them) then credit to the club for changing their strategy. Agree with Term that it seems Gourlay's departure is showing its reasons with this news. Will be waiting for more information. Good on you @We Hate Scouse for protecting your source though.
  18. @Magic Lamps Just because the club owners see football as a business doesn't mean you have to. @lionsden and I are looking at it as neutral fans of the sports, we want to see young talent flourish. I'm not celebrating we lost out, because if he proves himself and we buy him for a higher fee then everyone wins. This is simply about Chelsea's poor management of young talent like this, there's a consistent trend of forgetting about such players. You might be happy seeing young players being bought and sold to fund bigger transfers at the expense of their careers but I certainly do not. It's not like he's gone to a big club either, that's why we're praising his agent. At Leicester he's going to develop by getting games in the league you want him to play for, because you clearly want him to play for Chelsea... He's not joined Man United, Juventus, City etc. This isn't a debate about our loan system/our own failings, I don't want to start that here.. There's a time and place for that. This is just simply recognising that the sport we've become fans for can prosper with young players making bold decisions like this and agents genuinely caring about their clients' futures.
  19. Good for him. We would've, without a doubt, sent him away to Vitesse and forget about him. At LCFC he has a small platform, but higher exposure and chances of playing week-in-week-out. Good luck to the lad!
  20. I know their sanctions, that wasn't my point though. My point is, the sanctions are nonsense. They're farcical because you can spend a lot of money, thus breaking the rules of FFP, and get a limitation on your spending after you've already spent what you needed to.. Ergo, FFP is still a joke. City can still strengthen face no repercussions for already breaking the rules.
  21. £30million isn't at the level? Just because they didn't go for Di Maria or Sanchez doesn't mean they're trying to curb their spendings. They don't buy everyone that teams are linked with, they just buy a stupid amount of players.
  22. I was enforcing your sarcasm though
