  1. Too Clean to Be True Seems the reason Piazon's negotiations broke down with Juventus was because his wage demands were too high. They said we'll be paying the kid €1million/year. For an 18-year old
  2. Messi mind games? Messi tips us to beat Manchester United to progress to the semis. Mind games from the little genius?
  3. I think people are reading waaaaay too much into this so called "drought". He's a striker.. Off form. Wayne Rooney was in the same position in December! Now he's being raved about (not so much, but he's certainly not being harassed now). Just give him more time to deliver.
  4. Yeah, it's kind of like, when the US drop phosphorous bombs in Iraq. Innocent children are lured to the mysterious object which instantly kills them.
  5. Better not screw this up. Birthday on the 7th, that time, a few years ago, we beat Liverpool 3-1 (and established Branislav 2-goal Ivanovic )
  6. I'm sorry but that's quite shameful. Yes they're wrong for killing innocent animals but this notion of "an eye for an eye" is exactly what's wrong with human society today. Instead of trying to correct this behaviour of killing innocent animals, people like yourself (no offence) seek comfort in seeing those perpetrators being killed themselves. Kind of makes you as bad. Moving on from that.. I read about how the nuclear plant scientists are, knowingly, risking their lives to save everyone. The Metro had quotes of how the scientists claimed, they knew they were walking to their deaths, but if it's to save millions more, it's a sacrifice worth making. True martyrs and their efforts should be remembered for a long while!
  7. That's hardly justification. Liverpool paid that sum out of desperation. They had to replace Torres and had a £50million kitty to do it, Mike Ashley orchestrated it fantastically. We're in a much better position and we don't need to pay such amounts for such an unproven player.
  8. SkySports will play it so much, it'll feel like it only happened a few days ago. I reckon, he'll play the best he's ever played over the 2 legs. Big incentive & motivation for him.
  9. They'll park the bus. Luiz, in this type of game, could be a liability. (if you're intelligent enough to work out that's not doubting his abilities, then only reply to that). Ivanovic - Alex - Terry - Cole would be ideal, but it could be too much to ask from Alex so soon, so Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole would make more sense. For me, Mikel & Essien should play but I doubt that will occur since Mikel has fallen down the pecking order (unfortunately).
  10. Only thing I don't like about this is the fact we're at home first. Away goal is crucial in these sorts of games, ask Liverpool & Manchester City. No mistakes Blues. If we win this, the momentum from avenging the 2oo8 final could be enough to go all the way.
  11. Ah okay, well in that case I agree with you. It's a shame, because Abramovich made a great investment into Cobham when he came in the hope the youth would eventually cease the need for so many huge signings. I just hope in the summer we don't buy a whole new squad, just enough necessary players - Which will also leave room for some of those young players to crop up. Hopefully anyway. Getting a new Youth Director would be an ideal start (with Arnesen leaving)
  12. If it was any other player I'd agree. But with this whole saga surrounding Borini, I think it's simply the fact Carlo been told not to play him. When Carlo first came he singled out 3 players he saw great potential in; Kakuta, McEachran & Borini. 2 made various sub appearances, albeit not much, but still showed Carlo would eventually give them a chance. With Borini, in the first half of the 09/10 season he was a substitute, made a few off it. Then in the 2nd half he started to get frozen out, he even said himself Carlo liked him, but had been told not to play him. It's clear this issue is a very political one. Whether Borini's agent & the club have had a falling out, or something else has gone on, we'll probably never know. What is clear is, whatever the manager, Borini will not get his chance at CFC and we're simply waiting for an offer to come in. Parma, I think, are the biggest club interested. They were waiting till after his injury and I think in the summer, they'll come back. As for this loan, it's a good move for all involved. It'll stop Borini hampering his development even more, by getting some first team action & it'll also be less of a burden on us (from holding him back). I hope one day he comes back to bite the hierarchy in the ass
  13. Priceless image. If only it was a goal that followed..
  14. Agree so much! Terry doesn't deserve this kind of disrespect. But the profession he is, he'd never turn down the position.
  15. Yeah, that's why I think Ivanovic should get the nod over him for most our games, however if it's 0-0 in a match when there's about 15minutes left, we should bring on Bosingwa. He's, by no means, awful at defending - Will always run with the winger. He offers more on the overlap then Bane though. Definitely one to keep around though
  16. A good, accurate report as always Blue Lion, a good read! Personally, I thought it was a fully professional performance from our squad. We may not have scored in it, but we did what was required to progress, N'Doye's chance was something we had no control over so we should take positives from that. It's no use in saying, because we didn't score in this game we should fear the quarter finals. The circumstances are completely different, in this match the players knew the 1st leg performance was adequate. In the next round scoring will be more important. An honourable mention for Bosingwa, from me. He looked very good last night, I see shades of the player we missed in 2008 emerging. Probably the pressure of Luiz/Ivanovic making him step up. "the Shevchenko effect"
  17. We should all bombard Adidas with emails and letters with a link back to this thread
  18. I don't think he's ignoring Torres.. Just think he's being greedy to try and score to try and win his place back. He knows right now, Zhirkov is owning him.
  19. Welcome (oioi Alex :eyebrows: )
  20. Excellent! A chance for him to further his career & development. Lord knows that won't happen at Chelsea. He will also get more teams interested in singing him.
  21. Is he seriously worth that? I've never even heard of this guy..
  22. Welcome, stick around (p.s. We hate Berbatov).
  23. Thing is. For those Copenhagen fans, how many times will they ever come to SB to play a Champions League knock-out game? For some of those tonight, once. So they were obviously going to make it as memorable as they could, so fair do's to them. And you do know, the TV actually turns down the stadium noise levels right?
