Agreed, but that's not always a guaranteed victory. It's a funny old game this, the last team to win it in their own back yard was France in '98. Only 6 teams have done similar (Argentina, Uruguay, England, West Germany & Italy). I think Germany will probably have the best shot outside of Brazil. It remains to be seen, how strong Brazil will actually be, come 2014. I'll watch their match today (not that it will form my judgement) but I'm sure it won't be as strong at the '02 team that shook the world.
A lot can happen in 3 years. Germany, Spain, Brazil & perhaps Argentina (if they get their act together) will be the big threats. England, I'm not too hopeful one, considering we're at the stage of too old/too young. France could be a wild card, but we'll have to wait & see if Blanc has restored some discipline into that squad.
Fair analysis. Not going to pretend I have, all I know is Bertrand has tremendous experience & there must be a reason England consider him their best u21 left back in the country. Unfortunately we must trust the judgement of our management (?) & word of mouth from others.
Drogba is a bigger risk. At least Kalou and Torres complimented each other and gave the other chances. Drogba & Torres have not clicked yet, so it would be an even bigger risk to try them out.
Ah come on, I don't think it was at Wilshere's request. Everyone had their numbers changed, Rooney went from 9 to 10 as well. Wilshere took 4 last time but that was given to Parker because he was playing holding so I think it was because of the formation. Wasn't a player decision I don't think.. 1 2 - 5 - 6 - 3 7 - 4 - 8 11 - 9 - 10
LMAO well SkySports have made their feelings about Terry being captain obvious. Their opening video for Euro2012 Qualifiers have Steven Gerrard as the mascot with the armband Update: Now they have Gary Neville & Ryan Giggs as pundits. They may as well say "Fuck John T*rry"
Ribery looks out of it lately. Even in the Bayern games vs Inter Milan he looked quite average and not near what he was hyped. That under-age prostitution thing really has taken its toll on his football it seems. He's 26 though, so he's got time to improve on that.
